In Eiskalt, hostilities between the Ixian Knights and Misery Business continue, with profiteers and patriots alike fighting for the future of this frozen nation. Meanwhile, unnoticed in the conflict, an ancient power stirs.
On the southern coast of Corone, the traditional Gisela Open, a tournament of warring armies, has begun anew. Register your regiment and fight for glory, power, and fortune!
Rumblings of retribution are resounding throughout Raiaera, as the wounds from the Corpse War against the necromancer Xem'zund slowly heal. Elves and adventurers alike, all across the war ravaged nation, are contemplating the lingering undead threat with blood in mind. Scholars and magi of Beinost are readying for war anew, many of them turning their research directly upon the corrupted life of the plagued lands from their ghost-touched towers.
Major Announcements
The staff is working hard to complete mission boards and wiki articles for each region, as well as "At a Glance" summaries of the regions. Pursuant to this, a revised map is in production and nearing completion, so look forward to that!
Additionally, there will be two new regions soon, one old and returning, the other never-before-seen outside of tournaments. I speak, of course, of the Tular Plains, now the demon infested pit Haide, and the xenophobic island nation of Lornius. Lornius will be a limited-access region with experience bonuses for writing there, though the specific qualifications for writing there are still in the planning stages. As well, Lornius will be home to some unique modes of competitive writing, with increased gold rewards and unusual rules.

Donations
As Althanas grows, the cost of running the site has increased. As such, we are continuing to accept donations for the upkeep and improvement of the site. You can find the donations link in the "Community" tab above. Here is a direct link to the
donation page and a direct link to the
Donor List. As a thank you from the staff, those that donate more than $10 will be added as Core Members to the site. As you know, Core Members have access to a special forum to speak directly with the staff and can have their own features and canon added to Althanas. Moderators that donate more than $10 will be given an @althanas.com email address. Donate anything, even $1, and we'll give you a custom user title (if you don't already have one. Donations use Paypal. If you want to avoid transactions fees, you can also transfer money to Althanas directly using the email address
donations@althanas.com.
