In this tale of personal growth and transformation, Logan McCloud
Steels a cane, has it stolen from him, is freed from a demon’s influence, and takes command of his fate, all with a little help from a scholar named Vincent Cain.

Vincent Cain has been sent by his superior Leona Stevvains to recruit the psyonicist Logan McCloud into the Tarot. Indeed, Vincent has been sent to the exact spot where Logan is mere seconds away of reaching, with a stolen cane in hand, and its owners in pursuit, a cane with mystical properties that Logan doesn’t really understand, a cane that Vincent Cain manages to remove with ease through some mysticism of his own.

Logan chases after Vincent, first to an inn, and then to a graveyard, with Vincent always managing to stay one step ahead. Up to the point where Vincent pushes Logan into an empty grave. Vincent tells Logan that if Logan truly wants to live, he must take control of his own destiny.

All this talk of Fate & destiny seems to rouse Logan’s inner demon, which Vincent manages to expel by beating on Logan. After Vincent realizes that the demon and Logan are connected, by knocking the uninspiring impish demon into a grave stone, he gets the idea of threatening to kill Logan if the demon doesn’t release Logan. The death of Logan would harm the demon and drive it off that plain of existence, and so the demon agrees. From this Vincent and Logan retire to elsewhere to discuss Logan’s future.
