The Althies 2016/17
Another year has more or less passed and it is almost already time again for our yearly award ceremony! The Althy Awards are an opportunity to celebrate the many accomplishments made by our members during 2016.
As with previous Althies, there will be a number of pre-determined categories. Once the event opens, the first step will be naming members for these awards, which members can do in the nominations thread. After a week, nominations will be closed. The top three nominees (as in the three players with the most nominations) will be eligible for the award. If there is a tie, that member will also be added to the poll. Afterward, each category will be assigned its own unique poll, where members will be able to cast their final vote for one week. Everyone can vote, but only once!
Winners will receive rewards and the elusive Althy Award Badge. Remember, as always, that it is possible to win multiple Althies!

The excitement doesn’t just stop with the Althies. The staff of Althanas are proud to announce a HUGE package of new features to be added to the forum in the coming weeks! These include:
- Regional reward boosts: quarterly events in specific regions that will yield extra rewards for completed threads!
- Player nominated semi-annual tournaments: write and fight in a tournament chosen by you!
- Easier to use systems and more flexible rules
There will also be a recruitment initiative that will yield lucrative rewards for new and existing players alike! So, get the word out and stay tuned to reap huge rewards for both you and your recruits!
Featured Event: Raiaeran Festival of the Stars
The Raiaeran Festival of the Stars will soon be upon us! During the Lunar cycle under which they are bathed brightly in light of Selana, their most beloved star, it is elven tradition that friends and families come together to celebrate life and the memories of those they have not seen in many moons. Some, even, that they might never see again.
This featured event will comprise two parts.
Part one consists of the feast itself - an open thread in which anyone can gather to talk and enjoy the festivities, The feast will award a 1.5× experience bonus at its end and will be judged as a “no-judgment”, but will yield no gold. After all, it is a party!
Part two will be a guided quest headed up by our very own Tobias Stalt. Men and women alike will travel into the depths of Eluriand to recover Selana's Light, a gift from the Young Star herself said to maintain the memory of all elves throughout time. What awaits them in the darkness, hidden away by war and all but forgotten? What secrets did the elves keep there? The Vault of Elven Kings is not a trial for the faint of heart.
At the end of the event, there will be a chance for the participants to join the party thread and trigger an event. Stay tuned for news on the opening of registration!
