Althanas Audio
Hey guys!
Though most people don't know this about me, I really enjoy narration. I narrate stories that I find online, and books that I read, for fun. I am actually looking to put together a portfolio and apply to Audible, when I've improved my skills.
Along the same line, I also found myself thinking of the many times I have resorted to a book on tape, because I was working out, or driving. I could be spending all of those hours reading stories by fellow Althanas writers.
I decided to put the two together, and pose an idea for a new Althanas feature. It has the rough, temporary name of "Althanas Audio," and it will feature narrated stories from the writers on this site. Volunteers will record themselves reading threads (with the permission of the authors, of course), and we will post them here for you to listen to. I was thinking we could take suggestions as to what threads to read.
This is just a preliminary interest check. Would you be interested in the idea? Would you want to help with the narration? Please let me know your thoughts!

I am very interested in listening! Narration itself, weeeeell, maybe in the far distant future.

I'd need to run and see if I can get a proper mic but I'm willing to narrate a few threads.

I am also very interested in this. I have about an hour a day that I am driving to and from medical school. I could get through multiple threads a week. That would be awesome. And I would be open to recording as well. I, also, enjoy narration.

If you want someone to produce this stuff for y'all...

I have a good mic and have become good at reading stories. I have a six and three year old who can provide testimonials. Downside: wicked Boston accent.

Volunteering my British accent for this. Also I love the idea of listening to some threads being read.

Cool idea. I am right now in the middle of listening to a thread through a text reader while I potter around.

I'm excited to see so many interested narrators. You're all welcome to join - this isn't a feature that is going to be staff run or anything. Anyone can record anything they'd like, so long as they secure permission from all authors. :)
