Tarot Mini Arc: The Lost Bastion

Somewhere in the cold frozen northern reaches of Salvar lies a lone tower lost in a seemingly endless blizzard. This structure once served as the main base of operation for the Tarot Hierarchy in the Salvarian area. Initially lost when Denebrial brought the sway to Salvar, strong magical readings have been recently picked up by operatives in the area that are thought to have originated from there. Concerned about what artifacts and documents might be present, the Council of Three has organized a three step mission to discover, and recapture this point on interest.

Discovery: A group of up to three Tarot Operatives will be sent to meet with the team that discovered the initial readings. Louise, the leader of this team of archeologists will inform of where they had discovered the initial readings, but inform them that they weren’t able to pinpoint the location due to being attacked by a mysterious ice creature. She will instruct the team to secure the area, so that here team can return and pinpoint the location of the readings. (Gm’d by Cards)

Arrival: The circumstances of the previous step will lead to a team of four being sent on an expedition through the frozen wastes to the tower itself to establish a forward base on the premises. Disaster strikes through a myriad of ways, making an already dangerous mission through some of Althanas’ most unforgiving terrain all the more perilous. (Gm’d, GM spot open)

Reclamation: Once the main base has been established, three teams of three will be sent inside to discover the source of the signal. They must brave the activated defenses of the base that are running amuk, and will discover a new mysterious enemy who seems to pose a threat to the Hierarchy itself. Only one team will truly success in this mission, and will reap a majority of the accolaids. (Threads will be judged basic format, AP costs split amongst all participating parties. Highes score canonically reclaims the base, other teams considered to be stopped by some form of mishap.)



Rules!
So one character per person per step. So Rayleigh and Nicollete cannot participate in the discovery quest, because they share the same author. You only fill two spots however. If you participate in stage 1 and 2, you cannot assist and the Reclamation stage etc etc.

We will be enforcing a weekly posting deadline. We understand that life happens, and that deadlines suck. We can’t let this event take all year though. The teams will be held to completing one full posting cycle each week. That is one post per person per week. If one person doesn’t post, the person behind them in the posting order is responsible for communicating they are jumping the order, and must post within the time frame. If one person drops out, we will sub in from a wait list.

We plan on making it a priority to include at least one new member in each team. If it comes down to it, Veteran members will be skipped in order to ensure a new player has a spot. We want to make everyone feel included, and Veterans can always be given other tasks to participate.

We highly recommend communication between team members. Something like Skype or a Google document goes a long way to help plan this sort of thing out! While this may take a large amount of communication off site, we would like to remind our members to be courteous and respectful when it comes to critiquing the writing of your teammates, and make sure that everyone is given equal opportunity to input their ideas.
