If you fancy some traditional D&D or dice based play-by-post roleplay, we've added a useful dice hack to the site.

It's relatively simple to use. Simply type:
Code:
[ROLL=X]N[/ROLL]
Where X is the identifier of the set and N is the number of faces.
We currently have two dice sets with images on Althanas

1) A normal die (6 sided)
2) A dodecahedron (12 sided)

So X would always equal 1 or 2.

You can also specify the number of faces used in a roll by including the traditional "d" function in your code. For example, 5d4 would only use the first four faces.

Complex sets can also be created. Simply type:
Code:
[NROLL]XdN[/NROLL]
Where X is the number of rolls and N is the number of faces.
For example, 6d17 would roll six 17 faced dice. These would be output into a table.

The hack also has a nice built in authentication program. If the code is entered once, it will say "Legitimate Dice Roll" at the top of the post. If it has been edited, it will show "Illegitimate Dice Roll." You can also use the dice feature on Althanas Chat for your RP. Logs are saved there for verification, if necessary.
