    Appearance: Still considered young (her race lives to be around 250) and what some, if not many would call beautiful, Jas is most often seen wearing a snug, dark blue, sleeveless dress with silver trim. Around her waist she wears a black and silver sword belt and on her feet black leather knee high boots good for walking long distances in. Around her neck she wears 2 silver lockets on a single silver chain. Inside one is a picture of her parents on one side and her "brother" and his best friend on the other. The second one holds a picture of Zerith and one of her three children. Jasmine wears her hair in a long braid that comes down to mid thigh. On the third finger of her left hand, Jasmine wears a beautiful diamond wedding ring.

    Personality: Jasmine is good natured, but has a very quick temper. Her only real vanities are her hair, which she makes sure to take very good care of, and her complexion, which she also takes very good care of. She is generally trusting, but once that trust is lost, it is very difficult to earn it back. Being a mother now, she is very protective of all three of her children and will do anything within her power to make sure they are safe, regardless of what that may entail or how dangerous it may be. (Or how much it may annoy her now teen-aged children.)

    1 4’ steel straight sword of extremely high quality. Hilt is two-handed, wrapped in black leather with silver embroidery worked in. (the silver is simply to denote that this is noble’s weapon).

    Skills/Abilities
    I have decided to dispense with adjectives to describe Jas’s proficiency. Instead I will be using a scale 0 – 10, wherein 0 is a total and complete incompetent and 10 is an absolute nigh unto undefeatable master.

    Swordplay – 7
    At this level Jasmine is very, very good at what she does. She moves quickly and with confidence. She does not make any unnecessary movements and her movements are clean and sharp. She should not be taken lightly neither should she be underestimated.
    Knife throwing – 5. Jasmine is an average shot with her knives. At about 50 paces with a still target, she will hit her mark almost every time. Much further than that and her accuracy starts to fail. Have the target be moving and her accuracy goes down considerably to 10 paces.



    Magic
    I am also revamping how I rate her magic. As with the physical skills above, these are rated on a scale of 0 – 10, again with 0 being a hopeless incompetent and 10 being an absolute master.

    Offensive Magic

    Fire: overall level: 6
    Able to control fire – at the moment she is only able to create fireballs. She can make them any color she wants, though she generally makes the same fireball attack the same color every time. For ease of understanding, her fireballs are listed by color. Jas can created 7-8 fireballs overall per "day", then must recharge her energy with a good night's rest.

    Blue fire – this is a ball of fire about 8” in diameter, blue in color. This is a single ball that Jas throws at her target. It moves fairly quickly, but not so much as to be unavoidable. This is a magic fire and it will burn whatever it touches for up to 5 seconds. The flammability of the target will determine the amount of damage taken. For example, if it is blocked with a sword, for 5 seconds her enemy will have a flaming sword to swing around and the sword will likely be unharmed. However, if it were to touch cloth, dry grass, or wood, the item would be likely to take much more damage and quite possibly continue to burn with natural flames.

    Red fire – This ball starts out at 8” in diameter, however upon being thrown it splits into 3 smaller balls, each about 4” in diameter. These balls travel very fast and have a homing behavior. Though each ball will come at the enemy from a different direction, each will follow the target for the most part. A simple ducking under maneuver will only result in the fireball turning around and coming at the back of the enemy’s head. Each of these balls burns for roughly 2 seconds with the same damage measurements as her blue fireball (being that amount of damage is determined by the target’s flammability).

    Purple fire - This is a mixture of Red fire and Blue fire. The ball that forms in her hand is purple and about 8” in diameter. When she throws it, it splits into 3 balls, each about 6” in diameter. Each ball has a kind of “tracer” that makes it head straight for the target in the same fashion as red fire. Each ball burns for about 5 seconds. As with the others, Purple fire damage is dependent on the target’s flammability.

    Yellow fire - Yellow fire is non-combatant and is used only for providing light and concentration practice. Right now, Jas can make it glow to produce a circle of light about 5 feet in diameter or as small as a single candle, but has the potential to make it be as large as 10 feet or as small as the head of a pin.


    Defensive Magic
    A Father’s Love: in times of very great or mortal danger, her sword will become as strong as mythril for the length of two of Jasmine’s posts, due to the spirit of her father putting itself into the blade in an effort to keep her weapon and her body, whole. At that time it will return to the normal steel. This is useable once per thread. However, as it is the spirit of her father that is intervening on her behalf, she is unable to call upon this. Her life or that of someone she loves very much must be in extreme danger for her father to be able to help.

    Other Magic
    Mage-Warder bond: The bond that was originally created between Jasmine and Zerith in the PG "The Chosen" (pre-crash) has been strengthened by Quilyassa. They can now sense each other's presence up to 5 miles. Within that 5 miles, they can tell about where each other is, general health, and general emotional health. If one is injured, the other will feel 1/4 of the pain felt by the other in the same place. Also, if one or the other is under great emotional or physical stress (ie: torture) the bond may become unclear for the one being stressed, but it will still be clear to the other. (Obtained here)
    As a wedding gift, Draconus has blessed Jasmine and Zerith by giving their bond another feature. They may now telepathically communicate with each other as long as they are within 3 miles of each other. This is limited to only them. In other words, they cannot initiate a telepathic conversation with anyone else (exceptions would be people like Sei who is already a strong telepath and can talk to anyone he want via telepathy so long as the stronger telepath initiates conversation).

    History

    Race History: (condensed because I realized I have a crapload of info here. If anyone reading this wants more info, they should PM or IM me and I’ll be happy to answer any questions.)
    The Mori race evolved from several generation of intermixing between elves and humans. They found the island they live on quite by accident whilst fleeing the prejudices of the purists among their respective races. They have lived there ever since. Two cities have been built, the port of Hamasha and the capital, Nadai. It is ruled via a monarchy that is advised by a council of 8 nobles, each of whom is responsible for a section of one city or the other (similar to how each city in the US has District Representatives).
    In appearance the Mori are about average human size. Some look more elven or human than others depending upon the percentage of elven or human blood running in their veins. The average life span is 250-300 years. Hair color pretty much ranges the rainbow of what is considered ‘normal’ for humans and elves. The same applies for eye color.

    Character History: (you may note that there is considerably less here than there was before, this is because I’ve also seriously condensed this section as well.)
    Jas was born to Lady Maria and Lord Alberto Matrino, in the tiny island kingdom of Moriah. A mere two or three weeks after her birth, her parents along with every findable servant in her parents country estate, were ruthlessly tortured and killed. A small servant boy named Eric, who had just come to them that past winter, was given charge of tiny Jasmine and told to "hide real good so the bad men won't find you" (he was 8 years old at the time). Obediently he found a hiding place and was not discovered.

    When the coast was clear, Eric took Jasmine to her uncle, King Odan Kamasha. The two children were raised in the royal palace with Eric being named as Jasmine’s older brother. When she was of the proper age, Jasmine was named heir to the throne and began receiving suitors. Unable to choose one, her uncle gave in to the pressure from one of his Council members and chose a husband for her. On the day that this was to be announced, Jasmine’s betrothed, Lord Montego, showed his true intentions; leading a coup he took control of the kingdom and killed Odan in the process.

    Fearing for her own life, Jasmine ran away taking only her father’s sword with her. She ran to the jungle where she was eventually found by one of the friendlier tribes of natives. She was taken in and taught how to use the sword she carried and how to control the magic that ran in her veins. She stayed with the tribe for two years, then decided that she should leave for fear that Montego might enter the jungle searching for her. She left her home and managed to sneak out of the country with the help of a ship’s captain that was still loyal to the Royal Family (he was absolutely ecstatic that Jas was not dead afterall as Montego had claimed).

    Jasmine’s travels have taken her to many places in Althanas. One of those adventures was to return home to dispose of Montego. She recruited some help and through a variety of obstacles, finally managed to succeed. When her brother was found, she stepped down from her throne and put him in her place, claiming that she did not feel worthy to rule a nation that she had initially run away from instead of standing up to the oppressor. In her heart of hearts, she just really did not want to stop adventuring yet

    She returned to her travels having a wide variety of adventures. She was called by the Thayne Goddess of Magic to aid in a major undertaking along with many other mages. Here her travels fell in line with Zerith Dracosius, who was to be her Warder. Shortly after this meeting, Mage and Warder went to Jasmine’s homeland so that Jas could attend the Midwinter Ball. It was here that she met and fell for Prince Raelyse Salidan. Though the prince did not get all he wanted that night, he did succeed in capturing Jasmine’s heart. She was very upset when she woke the next morning to find that he had disappeared from Moriah entirely.

    When Moriah fell under attack, her warder, Zerith, was at the forefront helping her and her countrymen to defeat the attacker and afterward to rebuild and make better defenses. All the while, Jas was completely unaware of how her warder felt about her. Once Moriah was safe, Jas set off on her own for a while. She was captured by slavers and taken to the base of the Grander’s Order. There she found Raelyse and very happily went to his arms. Being the smooth talker he was, he soon had the princess convinced that he loved her and only her etc etc etc. Here she also found Zerith again who knew exactly what the Grander Salidan was up to with his Mage and did not like it at all.

    Over the course of 2 missions together, Zerith wooed Jasmine, convincing her of Raelyse’s lies and to leave the GO with him. Heartbroken and extremely angry over Rae’s lies, Jas agreed. She left the GO with Zerith at her side and the two have been inseparable ever since.

    Zerith and Jasmine’s romance blossomed beautifully and during a trip to visit his family, Zerith proposed to Jasmine. She joyfully accepted. Following the announcement to his family, Jas and Z, along with his parents and best friend, Zevernus, went to her homeland to announce the plans to her family and have the wedding.

    A week before the wedding, Jas’s nephew was kidnapped. The little prince would be safely returned in exchange for a map to wherever Montego’s traitorous bones had been buried. In the end, the prince was safely collected, but the lord that had kidnapped him still got what he wanted. Exactly why he wanted Montego’s bones has yet to be seen. For now, the family is just happy to have Dylan back safe and sound.

    At the same time, Jas had discovered she was about 2 months pregnant. The couple decided to wait until after the wedding to tell her family (which given that her brother has a hot of temper as Jas, was probably a very wise decision).

    Throughout the following months, life for the Dracosius’ went quite well. That is, until Montego was raised from the dead. He waged a new battle for the Sapphire Throne of Moriah, but was ultimately defeated. This time, they made sure there was nothing left of the traitor to be raised. As the battle with Montego came to a close, Jasmine went into labor and soon a daughter was born to her and Zerith. They named the child Siela Marie and settled in to become a family. (in progress: “Tyrant Reborn”)

    Three months later, the two were informed that Z was a prophesied general necessary for saving Radasanth from destruction. (in progress: ”Extended Family”). Thus the family moved to the Ixian Knights’ castle. While there, enemies of the Ixian Knights’ kidnapped Siela. Though it took some doing, the child was rescued. (also in progress: “Hush Little Baby, Don’t Say a Word”)

    Later the castle was outright attacked and had to be evacuated. In the confusion of battle and evacuation, Jas and Z have become separated. Siela is with her mother along with the rest of the Mystic race just outside of Sei’s Tomb. (”Mystic War Chapter 1 – team 3)

    Once the Mystic War ended, Jasmine discovered she was once again pregnant. This time with twins. The new additions to the Dracosius family, Zevernus Josiah (named in honorable memory of Zerith's best friend) and Aiden James, were born just a few weeks prior to Silence Sei's declaration of war against the rulers of Corone. This was a move that Jasmine could not support in any fashion. She opted to take her children and return to Moriah while she waited for Zerith to fulfil his duties as one of Sei's generals. After that war came to an end, Zerith joined Jasmine in Moriah and again took up his role as Captain Commander of Moriah's military force. They have lived in peace, watching their children grow and teaching them well.

    It has now been a little over 15 years since the Dracosius family left the Ixian Knights. Siela is now 17 years old. Her brothers are 15 and half. Though the boys are nearly identical, their personalities are quite different. Now that the children are old enough to fend for themselves, Jasmine has been feeling the itch to go out into the world again.



    NPC Profiles Please note that though Siela, Zevernus and Aiden are listed in my profile, Zerith can use any of them whenever he needs to as they are his kids too. Also note that Siela is still an NPC right now as I'm trying her out as a character. If I like how well she plays in my current return threads, then I will upgrade her to a full PC. The boys are included in this simply because they are there and may or may not be used in the near future.

    Appearance/Personality: Siela is generally a fairly easy going person. The exception is in dealing with her brothers. She picks on them often, but anyone else that does had better be ready to run. She is quite healthy and take care to keep it that way. She is generally trusting and likes to make new friends. However, she seems to have an innate sense of who she can and cannot trust. This has been a "gift" of sorts from the time she was born. She has a high sense of loyalty and trustworthiness. Once her trust has been broken, it is nearly impossible to fix. She does not tend to hold grudges, but will simply cease to acknowledge a person's existence that has done her wrong.

    Siela typically wears white leggings with a sleeveless green tunic that reaches halfway down her thighs. It has a modest neckline and fits her just snugly enough to show she's a woman without being skin-tight. She wears black knee-high boots and a black belt from which hangs her sword on one hip and her dagger on the other. Her quiver is of brown leather and hangs at her hip from a strap that goes diagonally across her chest. Her hair is typically worn in a ponytail to keep it from inadvertently getting in the way of shooting.

    Skills:
    Archery: Siela is an excellent shot with her bow. Whether stationary or moving, she almost never misses her target.
    Swordplay: Siela is average with a sword. She tries to avoid melee fighting as much as possible, preferring to give ranged support.

    Magic

    Gramma loves you: (Explained below)

    Telepathy: As a result of being in the womb when Draconus blessed Jasmine and Zerith's marriage, Siela also developed telepathy. She can initiate telepathic conversation with those who have an open mind. Given teaching and time, she could probably learn to actively read other people's minds, but at this point that is beyond her. The only thoughts she can pick up "accidentally" are things that a person is actively focusing on. This ability also allows her to communicate with the dead, so long as the dead have either made themselves known, or have a very strong presence.

    Spirit magic: Siela is able to summon spirit magic to accomplish a variety of tasks. Typically, she uses it to imbue her arrows with extra force. However, she can also form small “bombs” of magic, spears, or small walls. Her offensive spirit magic is not especially strong and will not do extreme damage. It won't even take off a finger, though it might singe facial hair if a hit is taken to the face. The strength of her wall depends on how much magic energy she has to devote to it. If she is at full power, then it will stop or slow just about anything for one post. After that, it will break down rapidly if she doesn't release it. Being young and still new to using magic, too much use will wear her out.

    Adding a little extra power to her arrows costs her almost nothing, but the offensive attacks and the wall drain her quickly. Offensive attacks and wall are used sparingly; not more than 1 full strength wall and not more than 3 spirit bombs per “day”. A full night's rest restores her magic energy completely.

    History: Born in the spring to Jasmine and Zerith Dracosius. Shortly after her birth, her father was recruited to join Sei’s Ixian Knights. She of course was taken with him and her mother to Radasanth to live in Ixian Castle. The small family lives in a family section along with Jensen, Stephanie, Azza, Kyla and Akiv. She and Akiv are fast becoming good friends and seem to enjoy their shared playtime. She has no cares in the world right now so long as she’s clean, her tummy is full and she’s with people she knows and trusts.

    A lot happens in 15 years. Siela grew like any normal child. Early on she displayed an affinity for bows and thus when she was old enough, began training with bow and arrow. Her brothers have each chosen a weapon as well and all three regularly spar with each other to help each other grow in their fighting prowress.

    At this point in her life, Siela is starting to grow bored with her life and longs to leave Moriah to see the rest of the world. The stories of adventure told to her and her brothers by their parents have helped this along quite a bit. But as is the way with many parents, neither Jas nor Zerith want any of their children to be on their own just yet.





    Name: Zevernus Josiah Dracosius
    Age: 15.5
    Sex: male
    Hair: brown
    Eyes: blue

    Personality/Appearance: ZJ is a quiet young man. Often seeming a bit more serious than a 15 year old should be. However, it is simply that he likes to think things through and rarely speaks an opinion or thought that has not been carefully thought about beforehand. He is also a bit more sensitive to how people feel than his younger twin and takes extreme pride in the family name.

    ZJ favors clean cut clothes. He usually wears trousers with a white shirt and a jacket that matches the trousers. Colors vary, but like his mother he prefers cool colors to warm colors. His brown hair is neatly kept. His body is toned and somewhat muscular.

    Weapon: dual wields katanas of steel

    Magic: Gramma Loves You (Explained below)

    Familiar: Skye, peregrine falcon. The falcon is simply that, a falcon. It has no special abilities. A storm blew it against the door of ZJ's balcony. ZJ nursed the still quite young falcon back to health. When it wouldn't leave him, he named it Skye. It is quite fond of ZJ, even sometimes affectionate. Anyone else though had better keep their fingers away from Skye.


    Name: Aiden James Dracosius
    Age: 15.5
    Sex: male
    Hair: teal (via magic)
    Eyes: blue
    Weight: 5'8
    Height: 160

    Personality/Appearance: Where ZJ is quiet, AJ is loud and brash. He is something of a joker and loves to tease his siblings. He can be thoughtful and is quite resourceful, but prefers to hide the cunning, strategic mind behind jokes and seeming recklessness.

    Through his own magic ability, AJ “dyes” his hair a bright teal blue. He usually wears a snug fitting white shirt with brown breeches and boots. AJ is a little more muscular than his brother, but just as toned. He works hard to maintain his physique.

    Weapon: halberd

    Magic: AJ has the ability to change his appearance. He most typically uses this to change his hair color, however at present he can also change his skin tone and eye color. The change lasts until he changes it back.

    He tends to hide how much he can do, because he's fully aware of the opportunities for espionage and the like that he would be capable of and does not yet want his parents or uncle to realize his potential. He is afraid that if they knew his current life of fun and games would be over if they knew.

    Gramma Loves You: (Explained below)

    History: (both boys' history is rolled into one)

    ZJ and AJ were born in Ixian Castle just a few weeks before Sei declared his war on Corone. The decision was not one that Jasmine could support in the slightest. Deciding that Corone during a war and the recovery time after would not be suitable for her children, Jasmine took the children and went back to Moriah.

    The boys grew as normally as any other child. At about 10 each began training with their choice of weapons. ZJ took on dual wielding katanas while AJ took on the halberd. AJ is very much in awe of his father's mastery with the weapon.

    Both boys long to start adventures of their own, but thus far have not been able to convince their parents to allow them to leave Moriah.


    A Mother's Love/Gramma Loves You: in times of mortal danger in which a weapon is of no use the spirit of Jasmine’s mother will form a small “bubble” around her daughter or one of her grandkids. The bubble is approximately 2" wider in diameter than the benefactor is tall. It will hold for two posts (1 to activate, then next to deactivate) and is tinted a pinkish-rose color. Jasmine & Co can be easily seen through it. It will deflect blows from blunt objects and glancing blows. If one were to stab it with a sharp item such as a sword or dagger, the point of the weapon will go through the bubble, though it won’t pop it. The barrier will prevent any other person from entering it, so the weapon’s progression will stop when the opponent’s hand comes in contact with it. It is impervious to all magic attacks.

    Special note for Mother's Love/Gramma Love You: This stems from an outside source: the spirit of Jasmine's mother, Maria. As such, it may not be actively called on. It is a passive ability that the benefactors have no control over. Out of respect for the idea of the Citadel, Maria will not activate this protection there. Due to the limitations of being a spirit in a mortal world, Maria can only cast her protection twice per day, and not on the same benefactor twice. Example: in the same day she can protect Jasmine and Siela on SEPARATE occasions, but would then be unable to protect the twins until at least the next day.

    Are any of the NPCs used in battle at all?

    It's great to see a direct transfer, makes a lot of things easier, thank you. I'm just going to need to ask you to wait though, as I got through it all.

    As in the Citadel? No. Not unless/until they move onto being their own thing. That's an eventual goal but not until I've been able to actually use them more to make a firm decision on that. Jasmine is still the main, though sometimes some things may center around the teens more than her. They would be battling only in a quest thread set up.

    also, I now realize that I didn't take the time to switch accounts. This is Dracosius, just on my OOC account.

    As a starting question, can I ask how many times in a thread Jasmine can use all her different abilities? So for instance, how many fireballs can she make a day? Is it a whole count for all the colours of fire or can each be done a separate amount of times.

    Same goes for air, a mother's love. Is the links for items in the old thread?

    I had actually intended to remove the other elements as that's a plan I had that I have since abandoned. The only offensive magic is the fireballs at this point.

    I moved Mother's Love/Gramma Loves You to the bottom to make its use more clear across the PC and NPCs. Mother's Love came about at the conclusion of a thread that was to be the start of a Mage-Warder thing as part of a PG that never really took off. I would be surprised if it can still be found. I don't even remember who was heading up the PG, just that it was supposed to help protect waning magic across Althanas or something like that.

    With the new system about points and whatnot, I'm not sure what to assign for number of usages on her fire control and am open to suggestion.

    You are sitting at a level 6 so you have a bit of power levels to play with. I'd suggest something akin to 2-3 uses for each fireball or an overall 7 or 8 uses, with which you could choose what fireball you want to use at the time, depending on the situation.

    Also for the general burning ability, are you thinking a major burn (going down to flesh) or more minor (e.g. skin only)? Or is this effected for the length of time it is touching the person?

    Burn damage is left undefined as far as flesh goes cause it really depends on how long something is permitted to burn. Unchecked, I supposed flames could cause some serious damage, but I tend to try to leave that up to the other PC, as they would have the control over how long up to the length of time the fireball burns. For example the blue fire burns up to 5 seconds. At 5 seconds the magic fire goes out (unless otherwise noted as having been on a flammable thing like dry grass or whatever). It can be put out before that 5 seconds, so damage to flesh can be minimized by the affected player. If it catches their shirt, it would behoove them to get the flames out as quickly as possible since a shirt isn't going to be much of a barrier between flame and skin. If it lights up armor, and they aren't fussed about scorching or the heat, they might let it fizzle out on its own.

    Okay, it was more to get an understanding of how hot the flames are, but I see the focus on time is more important. That is absolutely fine. We'll go with that it burns little if on for less than half a second and a lot for five. Thanks for being awesomely helpful.
