Another Althanas RPG?

Hey everyone! As most of you know by now, I've decided to make an Althanas OOC adventure for RPGM2K. I've just tweaked the introduction and have molded it into a demo of sorts for all of you to play. It's vile, vulgar, and makes everyone look bad (except Dirks and Zieg ag' Tulfried because we're making it). You all should love it!

I've put the .rar file up on Rapidshare here (http://rapidshare.de/files/38037496/AlthanasOOC.rar.html). In order to play the game, you MUST have RPGM2K downloaded onto your computer. You must also have the RTP English (the translation) and the RTP1.32 or better on the computer to get all the graphics. All of the special music and sprites I have used are included in the .rar file.

To play you must do the following: Unzip AlthanasOOC.rar. Do NOT unzip the AlthanasOOC.izh file (the Setup will do that for you). Once it is unzipped, run the setup file. It will (by default) save the game as a subfolder of the ASCII Folder in the Program Files (this is the folder the RPGM2K is kept). You can run the game by clicking the file RPG_RT.exe in the AlthanasOOC folder. Or you can open up the game using the test play option from within RPGM2K.

Let me know what you think! Zieg and I are working hard to complete the rest of the game, but as Cyrus knows, it takes awhile. If anyone is interested in helping, please let me know here. Have fun!

Actually, 16, and the Scara Knight can be fought times infinity. Also, the EXP cap keeps changing from 8900 to 7200, and sometimes I even lose XP so that gaining is possible once more!

So, anyone has thorazine for me?

And is it just me, or did Max' avatar and mine go zonkers?

Bad news, due to some wacked out virus that spread like wildfire on my computer I've lost the entire Althanas OOC game. It won't be hard to recreate what I've finished, but I need a clean copy of the game. Does anyone who downloaded it still have a copy you can zip and send me? That'd be lovely.

hey, this sounds rather interesting, i have had my share of experience with rpgm2k and i liked it, tried to make a game, but couldn't figure out how to get it so you can visit the same place over and over again, but there's different responses each time

anyways, i would be interested in playing, and would be interested to see if i can be part of it, so is there a place i can get the files to play the demo?i got all your stringent specifications but the actual game files haha

It was called Althanas OOC, right? I think I have it. Well, I have the Rar file opened up in front of me, and I opened the game. It starts out with something about Santhalas ruling Althanas for a long time or something. Is this the one you're looking for or is this the older one?

Hey everyone, I've got an update on the Althanas OOC RPGM2K game. If you remember the original demo, you were able to get to the cusp of Althanas proper (beginning with Scara Brae). I have now completed the Scara Brae portion and am virtually ready to release it. However, since we've had an influx of new members (it's been over a year since my last update), I'd like to see if any of you would be interested in becoming part of the game.

Let me know if you're interested here. If not, I'll probably post the demo in the middle of the week.

Sei, you are already in it. Rayse is in as Kylin, but I suppose another cameo wouldn't hurt. I'll be sure to include as many as I can for the demo (if not, I'll get you later on).

I wouldn't mind showing up and/or writing some dialogue for Godhand. Possibly a throwaway cameo with the NWO in a diner; I'm thinking something like the opening scene of Reservoir Dogs.

Alternatively, a wounded, drunk Godhand could serve as the first boss.

If you ever get to doing Corone, I wouldn't mind seeing Letho in this, regardless of his role. Maybe he could join the party as a NPC for a while, helping them out and giving them some advice, before parting ways. Or whatever. I don't know how much can be done with the RPGMaker.

That Exit Fate (http://site.scfworks.com/?page_id=3) game I linked in another thread was made entirely in RPG Maker. A more novice attempt at an RPG would look more like Last Scenario (http://site.scfworks.com/?page_id=9). Another good example is Everlong (http://www.nealien.com/Everlong/). It really just depends on the skill and familiarity with the program RPG Maker and time investment of the person.
