Writing up my character as we speak. I plan on making him vulgar and a defenite anti-hero, but I don't know if I shall go with my earlier idea because it sounds too cliche'. Guy becomes mass murderer, kills a thousand people, goes to hell, gets revived as a punishment to go and recollect the thousand souls he slew. Or something along those lines.

Don't worry too much about getting into the nitty gritty and filling in all the little pieces of the character. The less detail, the easier your character may be to write, and you can add things as you progress your story and level up.

As for BotI, you can read it here. (http://www.mangafox.com/page/manga/series/123/) The fight scenes aren't as chaotic as Berserk, but they're on par as far as I'm concerned. I keep forgetting to pick it up again, though.

Medium Details = Good. You should give yourself room to expand on the history unless you've got everything planned out down to how many steps the man's gonna take before walking out the door.

Just let the character be who they are and you'll be surprised when they speak back to you.

1. I went through the material's list and printed it out for easy reading. I understand that you can only have up to steel material armor and weapons at character approval, so about how much money would I have to accumulate to gain something like, say, a titanium katana?

Ow. A lot. it'd be a lot easier just to gain it in a quest, really. I used to have a massive titanium sword myself, and if I would have sold it, I probably would have cleaned house.

See, titanium is rare to come by outside of Alerar. Alerar is the most modernized continent, and uses it in their firearms. I'm not talking about M16s or anything, but like, revolvers and bolt action rifles. As such, Alerar jealously guards it and it's difficult to get otherwise; which is not counting it's comparative strength to other metals.

...A lot. In the thousands, last time I checked. Also take in the fact that folded-forged blades are a lot more expensive than simple hammer-forged longswords of the same length.

Hey, it's two thirty in the morning here and I've got nothing else to do, and it seems to be rare these days I like a new guy off the bat.

Besides! I just got a JC and I'm in about five threads at the moment. I'm more active than I've been in a long time!

Anyway, Winterhair. I'm going to say your best bet is quests. If you lose a battle, you'll get exp, sure, but it won't be a great amount. It's safer to quest and whip ass in them and get consisten exp and spoils like maybe that titanium katana someday.

Welcome to Althanas, Winterhair! Citadel battles are the quickest way to get EXP, since they are usually the threads that move the quickest. A well-written quest with one or two more skilled writers will get you a nice amount too, but those kind of threads take longer and need a little bit more planning and effort. They are great for character development and spoils, though.

When you get your character posted and need to break him in, I'd be more than happy to duel you in the Citadel so you can break your char in.

Battles can be fun but they're not all that good for EXP unless you can reliably win battles. Quick quests are probably the best for RPs with others though Solo's make EXP the quickest but are rather dull to constantly do those. keep the quests simple and strait forward and you'll gain a lot of EXP through them.
