The title of the bar didn't appeal to the wanderer at all. Peaceful, like the word mercy, was an unknown term to the swordsman, and he found it distasteful as he rolled the word around in his mouth. Nonetheless, days of walking had somehow driven him to the town of the Underwood, and he had grown impatient with the lack of fighting.

No, this place did not appeal to him at all. Nonetheless, even Vincent had limits to his endurance, and after walking constantly for hours on end his feet were weary and his head was heavy. Thus, with the distaste still in his mouth, he took note of the gathering storm clouds and pushed open the door, jarring it with a heavy thud.

The people inside didn't pay much attention to the newcomer. On the other hand, Vincent's eyes were roaming, trying to pick out who the strongest fighter would be. Because once he got some rest and a hard drink, he would be testing himself out against that person. Taking a seat at a small table near the doorway, he hid himself in the shadows as he gazed around with his swirling silver eyes.

A waitress came over to his table, ready to serve the newcomer, but she stopped short when the big man spoke up suddenly. "Some sake', please." His voice was soft, with an undertone of malice that the waitress could not detect. She simply nodded her head roboticly and walked away, her mind on what she would be doing after work.

Open.

Connor walked through the door apparently just got off from guard duty. As soon as he walked in and scanned the room he saw someone sit down and in the shadows. He nodded to the barman and said "The usual Fred."

Connor nodded to everyone else while he waited for his drink. He was obviously a regular so everyone new him well enough not to get him angry. Connor whispered something to Fred and Fred nodded patting a hidden crossbow under the counter. Connor grabbed his beer and took a seat at a table near the man. Connor didn't trust this man so he kept his hand on his rapier.

The Iris of her good eye slitted tighter as she scanned the murder of dregs that filled the bar. Each one of them a scum bag scavenger of some kind. Just like every other bar she sat in. Not a single one of them was worth a damn as far as being a warrior in her mind.

The rum that burned in the back of her throat was only matched by the fire in her veins. The full moon was rising outside as her body sensed the changes in the planet.

Her tail twitched as she waited for the right song to be played by the band.

The starter show was over when a band she had seen fliers for all over underwood stepped up onto the stage. The Dropkick Murphy's as they were called came up with a song most wonderful for her need, “Heros of the past” which started out with a fine bagpipe intro before blaring into the thrashing punk beats that rose almost every drunken brawler in the place.

A grin crossed her face as she grabbed the head of the nearest person and smashed it into a support column.

“Fuck yeah, thats what I'm talking about!” She yelled as she jumped up onto her table, kicking another patron square in the jaw.

Bar fighting chaos broke loose like no one's business with dear Kell smack dab in the middle of the bloody thing. Her fists finding homes in the squishy jaws, guts and nuts of anyone in reach.

Granted we haven't covered anything more as to why one anthro ice leopard of only five foot and three inches of hight would even think about starting a bar brawl in what would be a rather rough bar in the wee mornings. Well mostly it was because she was once again stuck on this god forsaken island. This time she wasn't here looking for riches, more the way to gain better riches.

The leader of what she hoped someday to become known as the most vicious and renown mercenary group, Giest Fox, was amongst the scum of Scara in hopes of finding people both hard enough, crazy enough and trustful enough to join.

Anyway, why are you worrying about stuff like that? Theres a fight going on.

Kell's knee jerked up into the tender nuggets of some Corone wrestling foundation reject. While she stared into his pained eyes only to head butt him square in the eyes.

The feline let out a grand woot of enjoyment as she continued on to the next mentally or morally handicapped patron swinging their fists.

hope ya boys dont mind:)

Connor jumped to his feet his sword already drawn and pointed the tip at the rowdy patron and then looked at his spilt beer. He looked up at Fred and said "Fred I don't need help with this drunk so let me take care of her and no I won't tear the place up too much." He then turned his attention back to the patron and said in an affirmative voice "Please step off the table and come with me NOW!" He then backed up a step to allow room for the patron to step off the table.

The buzz from the alcohol was starting to wear off with all the exercise she was getting. Her knuckles ached softly from using them against so many bony structures in the humanoid body.

Kell swayed softly as she realized that the music had stopped abruptly, which meant either the band was dead or the bartender had quelled it.

“What the fuck?” she just managed to get out before turning to realize that the thin blade of a rapier was aimed rather annoyingly at her.

Even through the haze she could see that he didn't seem like much, not that it really mattered with the venom of booze inside her veins.

His words came between soft belches from her gullet that made them completely lacking of understanding.

“What? Speak the fuck up!” Kell yelled as she swayed backwards, her expression that of spiteful question.

Still a blade in her direction was not something the feline took lightly. An arc crested across her hand as she hiccuped and pondered kicking his ass simply out of principle.

Connor looked back up at the Cat thing and sheathed the rapier. He unbuckled his sword belt and sat it on the counter. He then sat his buckler on the ground and pulled off his iron mail shirt and sat it too on the counter. He pulled a knife out of his boot and laid it on the counter. He then unsheathed his longsword and held it in his right hand.

He looked at the Cat thing and said in a loud angry voice "GET OFF THE FUCKING TABLE AND FOLLOW ME NOW." He then pointed at her throat and motioned for her to get off.

Chaos unfolded around the small alcove which was the home of a man and his two worried barmaids. The usual reason had drawn him into the Peaceful Promenade, one fine barmaid in a short skirt that had that little twinkle of mischief in her eyes, the same one that sat to his right, leaning tightly against him in her worry of the surrounding fight. As it was, his arm wrapped around her tightly, his hand softly holding her hip. In his left arm was a young blonde who continued to bury her face in his chest while whimpering in fear.

His soft words formed a security blanket for them as he whispered softly in their ears. It was only moments later when the fight stopped and the room cleared enough for Galen to see what was transpiring. There before his eyes was a young and very unique girl, clad in gray and of all things covered in what appeared to be the softest of blue fur. With a quick thought and a soft kiss to both of the girls in his arms he slid from their grasps, standing and stretching softly as he walked forward silently.

His right hand set softly on the hilt of his sword as he walked up next to the swordsman, placing his left arm out in front of Connor's field of vision.

“It isn't very gentlemanly to threaten an unarmed person with a blade, let alone...”He locked eyes with Kell, “A beautiful flower of a lady.” he finished with a wink and a smile at the feline.

A growl formed from her chest as she watched this human remove his arms. A charge of power coursed across her gloves as she readied herself to kick his ass.

It was then that her eyes caught the rather darkly dressed human approach from the sidelines. His features were what most would call handsome in a human, or so she supposed. Through the continuing fog of her buzz she watched him stand in the way between her and the little whelp that had chosen to piss her off.

It was then that this newcomer did something that nearly threw her for a loop.

Did he really just wink at me? And call me a beautiful flower?

“uh....” was all she could say as she chose this moment to step off the back side of the table, that way at least there would be that between her and her opponent.

There really was only one thing to do at this point, and that was to simply watch.

Connor was really getting pissed now as he lowered his sword. He looked at the man who just interjected him and said "I am arresting this so called flower for disturbing the piece so if you please STEP OFF."

He then turned his attention back to the cat. When he did he found that she stepped off the table. He muttered good and sheathed his longsword. He walked towards aware of the gloves she is wearing. He tried to grab one hand while trying not to be shocked. He started to think something was up. He looked back at Fred and said "Something smells fishy keep that crossbow of yours ready. When he did this he knew he let his guard down and if the cat lady was going to attack it would be now.

There was an ease that settled over the bar as the blade was returned to its sheath. But even then there was the matter at hand. A lady was in his eye as he continued to watch Connor.

A bottle rolled up against Galen's foot as he moved with a fencers footing to keep with the party killer. He maintained his extended arm between them as if it was some kind of real barrier.

“Come now my friend, it was just a little tussle, nothing that doesn't happen here every night anyway.”he said with a soft, comforting smile” besides, I couldn't just let anyone who hasn't shown me a badge just arrest a lass for having a little fun. I mean, who is to say that you are not just pretending to be an officer so that you can just come in here and kidnap whatever girl fills your fancy?”

He was hoping that his little show would impress someone that had more or less single handedly torn up half the bar. No small feat, especially by such a dainty looking girl. This feline was definitely an interesting one the more he glanced at her, scanning her every detail. The smell of her was rather unique to the point that he wasn't sure just how to handle her.

The sounds of a crossbow loading sounded near inaudibly behind the cover of the counter, forcing his eyes for a split second to the bartender.

Connor looked at the man who still keeps getting in the way. He looked back at Fred and said "Fred keep me covered." He then looked back at the man and said "I do not need proof. But if you need it check with the captain of the guard in this village. Until you check you need to let me finish my job or I'll take you in for obstructing justice." Connor then took a few steps towards the cat woman. If he was attacked he would be unarmed. Anyone could see that he was pissed. He thought that this wasn't his day. Everyone just wants to get in his way.

Crossbow...damn...

Kell's heart pounded deep in her chest as she ran over the options in her head. Was there a way out of this? Surely there was, and this new “friend” was going to see to it.

She waited for one last turn of her aggressor's head as his hand drew closer, just close enough for her little diversion. With a short growl a good arc of electricity would span the gap between the two of them, and with any hope send him into a little world of pain.

With that little trick done, the pop sounding in her ears she ducked and ran, the back door swinging wide as a new patron entered at the wrong moment, the bolt of the bartender's crossbow shot wide behind her as she slammed into the poor patron, widening the door just enough for her body to slip through and into the lamp lit alley.

Her boots fell heavy on the cobblestone street as she made a few corners before diving into the still busy streets.

“Shit...hope I lost him....”

Fred aimed the crossbow at the cat woman right as she sent the charge through Connor. Fred fired as soon as she started to run. The bolt slammed into one on the newer guards that just got off duty. He looked at Fred before the bolt hit him and said "Damn."

Connor stood up and made his way towards the downed guard. He looked at the bolt embedded in the chest of the guard. Connor knew that if pressure wasn't added soon the guard would die. Conner added pressure and said "I need someone to go get a medic and to keep pressure on this wound." A volunteer came to keep pressure on the wound. Connor showed him how to keep pressure on the wound. As soon as he could he made chase after the cat woman.

Having stepped clear of all the troubles, Galen smiled softly as he slipped out the back door in the confusion. He could smell the blue feline's scent even without changing forms as like most furred animals, their scent was much more easily wafted into the air.

I could let this one go, but then again, passing up such a rarity would be something I might regret...

He began the chase at a good pace before the sounds of the bar suddenly grew, the sound of a door slamming against a wall making him think quick as he ducked into a small dark alcove, watching the bastard from the bar run past.

Hmm...looks like I'm not the only one interested in that blue rose...

The thing he had to his advantage was the scent of the girl. It would only be a matter of time for him to track her as he stepped back out of the darkness and proceeded to follow his hopeful conquest.

Kell's lungs were heavy with her breath as her heart sounded inside like a drum. The thick forest of people around her drowned out her thoughts with the never ending sound of static. She waded through them as anyone who was trying to appear normal would, slowly.

Her eyes closed for a moment as she thought. Back when she had her group she never really got into such trouble. Then again, the fighting was all in jest, just like this, but then again, it was between friends. A soft sigh left her lips as she looked about. The street lights shown as they always did, the unending tide of unrecognizable faces passed like waves on the ocean.

What would she do? She had continued to search for a new group, people that could join her in her fun, in search of adventure and riches. Neither had really been things she had found at this point.

Maybe it was this island, too full of people that were all looking for the same things. A barren wasteland of failed dreams. There was no adventure on Scara Brae, unless you were some odd socialite that loved to greet everyone new.

The alcohol was gone from her system as her keen senses picked up the smell of fried shrimp, the only seafood she could handle. Her head ducked as she entered the clothed entrance to the small stand, which was good to hide under should anyone have followed her.

She held up her fingers, showing the order number that she wanted from the crudely painted menu on the wall. Her gold was spent as the plate of shrimp set before her. Even though she was hungry she hesitated, still hung on the past.

The scent of half cooked shrimp filled every corner of the small stand as Limrén sat impatiently in the corner. His piercing blue eyes couldn't help but stare as he caught a glimpse at the fierce looking creature ordering her food. What was she? He asked himself, couldn't even take his eyes of the beast for more than a moment.

She seemed to be in a panic, running from something or someone. Limrén could try to protect her from whatever chased her, but who was he to say she couldn't fend for herself. The feline held her shaking hand out pointing at something on the menu.

What could she possibly want in this run down rump, the only thing worth buying was the ale and the prices here were almost two time of that at the tavern. Limrén already having his fair share of drinking that night left the pub early, in search of some sort of companion for the rest of the evening. His piercing blue eyes scanned the beautiful hair of the panting feline. He wasn't about to walk up and introduce himself.

Not short after her food was ready there were loud footsteps echoing off off the cobblestone streets just outside of the stand. Maybe she will be needing some help afterall. Limrén was game for a fight that night. His eyes switched from the feline to the clothed entrance of the stand, the first time he was able to draw his gaze away from this beautiful creature since she walked in.

Connor ran through the street with only his longsword. As he ran he spotted her a few times but he lost her when she went past a corner. He spotted a few hiding spots small enough for her but they were too far away. He spotted a stand that might be able to hold her. He walked up to a kid and said "I need you help kid."

The kid looked up at the strange man and said "What you want guv?" The kid kept looking at the sword tied to his waist.

Connor looked at the kid and said "I want you to walk into that stand and tell me if you see a blue cat woman. I will give you two gold coins."

The kid nodded and said "Ok." The kid walked into the stand and came back out. He looked at the stranger and said "Yea shes in there."

Connor stood up and handed the boy a gold coin. He then walked into the shop. As he walked in he grabbed the handle of the longsword.

Limrén still sat quietly in the corner waiting for whoever was chasing the feline to emerge through the doorway.

Don't jump to equations just yet, Limrén, you don't need to get arrested tonight if it's not needed. He couldn't quite recognize the man walking through the door, but he looked pretty pissed. Then that was when Limrén noticed the man was gripping the handle of his sword. He didn't look like much, just a large metal clad man probabily react to slow to even pick up Limrén striking him from behind. Even then Limrén still waited he didn't mind watching a brawl, as long as it was fair. He wouldn't jump in unless the girl needed his help and she looked like she might be able to handle herself. Quietly Limrén waited for the man to attack, plotting his own next move.

Greasy was the only way to really describe the food, let alone the ale that was only slightly better than goat piss. Still, there was little she could do about it, she needed something on her guts. Kell ate slowly, chewing her food even as a small boy walked in, looked around quickly, stopping only when he saw her and ran out again.

Piss...

She gained a few more bites of her food before turning around in her stool, watching as the curtain parted to allow her chaser access. There he stood before her, a silhouette with hand on blade. Would there be any real escape from all this or would she have to simply fight and really disappear?

Her tail flicked slowly from side to side as her eyes glared at him over the tops of her glasses. His blade against her powers, it wasn't really a good looking fight, but either way, he was less armed then when they first met. There would be only a chance of getting out of this unscathed, but that was this world. Scara Brae was as most thought, a safe place, free of death and harm.

Meh...

“You really should have just let it go, gone on with your life.” Kell stood as her feline stare kept locked on his eyes. “cause now it has to come down to one of us walking away from this. I, am not going to die on this island, are you?”

It was little more than a bluff, even with her experience and tactics, it was still a slim chance at walking away without a fight.

Connor looked at the cat woman and did the unthinkable for a guard, he laughed at his advisory. He looked at the cat and said "You know they will be after a killer now that a guard is dead. You will need to leave the city and never come back."

His eyes then flitted before the man in the corner eying him and said "I your looking for a fight go down to the pub start one there." He then turned around and walked out. He had thought of a plan of hiding beside the stall and waiting for the cat woman to come out.

This thread has been sitting since before the beginning of this year (2009). Since no response has been made to create activity I am going to be moving this. If you would like it to be reopened please feel free to PM myself or another admin and they will be able to move it for you back to the Peaceful Promenade.
