Vorin

*I had around 900-935 exp, something like that. The rapier was bought at the bazaar and for it I had roughly 10-20 gold. Adding a few new items that will be unsellable, and removing a few I had from before. I'm changing the weaknesses slightly to effect some abilities, making them more fair. I'm tweaking the history a bit, so it...makes sense. Other than that, he's exactly the same. Deduct EXP/Gold as you see fit.*
Name: Vorin Káno Le Sereg
Race: Vampire
Gender: Male
Age: Unknown
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 175 lbs.
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Shimmering Blue
Occupation: Connoisseur, Predator, Noble, Savage.
Appearance: The first thing anyone will notice about Vorin is his pale skin tone. There is less luster to him than a normal human, and his color seems to vary at different times. Of course, this is all dependant on whether he has fed recently. As a vampire, color only returns to his form if fresh blood is flowing in him. Vorin, always one to look presentable, tries to feed as often as possible.
This is evident in his choice of clothing, for it is very fine. His riding coat, of rich velvet, is a lush, dark red, with black trim on the wrists and opening of the coat, as well as gold buttons. Under his coat lies a white linen shirt with lace ruffles at the neck and wrists. Upon his hands, he wears a pair of white linen gloves. On his waist lies a black leather belt, with a golden buckle. Tight black breeches cover his lower half. Black boots that go half way up his fore leg finish the bottom half look. He has lush black hair down to his shoulders, but he keeps it back in a tight ponytail, with a red ribbon keeping it up. His face is sharp, keen. No facial hair, as the undead rarely grow hair after their "rebirth". His eyes are the color of the ocean after nightfall, eyebrows neat and mildly thin. Every detail of him speaks of gentry.
Personality: Every smile across Vorin's face is as real as it could be, never one to like faking emotions.. He is a gentleman through and through. He kills when he needs to and no more, usually enjoying the taste of noble blood. Vorin is not so friendly with his own kind, and never has been. He distrusts any and every vampire he has ever known. Vorin's much more at home alone, reading a few good books on a stormy night, or going out for an evening at the opera or theater. At times, the vampire can become cold and calculating, trying his best to adapt to new situations. He considers himself well read, having quite some time to plow through a great many books, and because of this assumes he is a cut above many on the world of Althanas. With this ‘superiority’, the vampire can be very dangerous at times, his cunning known to trap a great many prey. At his times his emotions can turn on a time.
Weapons:
-Delhar Rapier *Bought at the Bazaar*
Armor:
"Armor is for fools and barbarians. If I wanted to look like some savage, I'd grow a beard." - Vorin, at his most condescending.
Items:
-(1) Black covered, leather bound journal. This is the record of Vorin's life. The title, in gold, reads, The Terms of a Gentleman Vampire. Inside there are many pages damaged by the vampire's own hand, scratched our and even torn at times. There are still many pages left blank, waiting to be written in. ((Includes one pen and a small bottle of ink))
-(3) Books. Two of them are plays, and the last is a history book. ((Not sellable))
-Elek'dou'lil. "A fine Elvish tragedy, written centuries ago. A love triangle goes drastically wrong in the noble graces of Raiaera.". The book seems to be old, but in fair condition for its age.
-Alerar Rarela. "A laugh riot, a Drowish satire of life between the two elven continents." The book is worn, and a few pages are torn towards the back. However, Vorin knows it by heart, finding happiness with each turn of the page.
-A History of Althanas. "Compiled by some of the finest scholars from all the races, this book is nearly half a century old. In it, details of the most ferocious battles, noble people, and largest empires grace the pages." It's in fairly good condition. "It sure as hell better be, it's a first edition. Cost me a damned king's ransom." The blank pages at the end allow Vorin to add things as he goes.
-(1) Set of clothing, described in appearance. They rarely get dirty, and Vorin has a fit if they do.
-(1) Ring. Made of black onyx. A symbol of his father's noble house, he would never sell it.
Abilities/Skills/Strengths:
-[i](Vampiric) Preternatural Strength: The vampire is twice the strength of a normal human his size.
-(Vampiric) Preternatural Speed: Vorin is only a bit faster than a normal human his size. This speed can be surprising when it's first introduced.
-(Vampiric) Preternatural Healing: This skill can only be used when the vampire is asleep. It increases the healing rate of the vampire, and is in fact the only way he can heal any wounds. Small grievances (Small cuts, fractured bone, bruise) can heal in a day or two, medium ones (Larger cuts, broken bones, blunt trauma) take several days to a week. Great wounds (Gapping cuts and openings, shattered bones, detached limps, internal damage, burns) could take several weeks of rest, but usually no more then a month.
-(Vampire) Preternatural Observation: Signals reach Vorin's brain faster then a normal humans. It's not much of a difference, but it allows Vorin to retain memories better, read faster, and notice things that seem odd. It can, in no way, be used to read minds or predict moves, but it does give the vampire a slight edge in thinking, adding to hid already inflated ego.
-(Basic) Swordsmanship: Vorin has a basic understanding of use with a rapier. His knowledge is by no means that good in combat. "But at least I can look elegant in combat." He can hold his own in one on one battles, against a newly trained foe. But anyone with real battle experience could overwhelm him in moments.
-Bilingual: Vorin can speak both the common tongue, and that of the Elves of Raiaera. He is by no means fluent in the latter, but he knows enough to get by.
Weaknesses:
-Sunlight: "Unlike popular myths may have you believe, I am like other nocturnal creatures. Sunlight will not combust my body, nor even irritate me. You see, whenever the sun rises, whether I be in its rays or not, I become a normal human in most aspects. My vampiric abilities, excluding healing, disappear for the day. I still must consume blood, but now I may be slain by most normal human means, with no strength or speed, not even my observation can assist me. I usually sleep during this time, healing wounds and staying away from any danger. Mortality is a scary thought to an immortal, but at least I don't age."
-Holy Relics/Items: "Despite popular opinion, I am in no way weakened by holy relics or items. You see, I am merely repelled by them, like mortals are repelled by vermin. I feel a deep disgust for those items, and distain for any that use them against me. This can catch me off guard, but it will irritate me to no ends once shown."
-Decapitation/Ignition: "The only two ways to kill me when I'm at my full vampiric strength."
History: "An overveiw of my life is something hard for me to conjure. Lapses and painful memories have stalked my long life, but I will try to do the best I can. I am Vorin Káno Le Sereg and I am a vampire. I was not always this creature, this parasite, my mortal life was something I enjoyed a great deal.
Early memories are hard for me to recall, but I do remember my youth was blissfully ignorant. I was a wealthy child, shy and spoiled. My father, a rich noble who had made a fortune trading and banking in Corone, was always buying me things. I was never allowed to play with the peasants, the poor, the needy children who always had the most fun. No, instead I had to enjoy the company of brats, nobles higher up on the food chain to my family. I hated these cretins, as educated as they made themselves out to be, they were just so stupid. The city of Serenti held no amusment for me, so I often retreated to my room, reading the finest works of literature Corone had to offer. Every once in a while, my father even found a good read from the Elves, which I tried to educate myself in.
Time passed quickly, and soon I evolved from the shy young boy into a strong young noble, the envy of Serenti. By the time my father died, I was twenty one, a handsome young gentleman, and rich to the point of excess. I decided to travel the world, spending money on anything and everything for a good time.
Tragedy ensued over this journey, something too hurtful for me to get into. This event caused my downward spiral that led me to Vampirism. At the age of twenty four I had died and been reborn, like a false messiah.
Events came and went over the centuries, years reading and collecting some of my more favorite books, decades spent in the occult. Finally, I had come of age when I revisited Radasanth, and met a young lady there by the name of Jasmine. I enjoy spending time with mortals, gratified by a sense of superiority and glad for the company. However, our meeting soon turned sour when she left my company early, shaking me from my mindset. A grave injury was dealt to me, but it healed in time.
Another exploit involved a warrior named Letho Ravenheart. A worthier foe I've yet to meet, and a battle at the citadel ensued. He won, of course, but I vowed my vengeance. After that battle, I knew I need a weapon, so a trip to the bazaar gave me the very rapier I carry still.
Another tragedy occurred when I met up with a beautiful assassin named Poison. Somehow, as I fed from her, I suffered a mental break down. Forced to take another sleep, it would be months before I awakened again.
And now, I travel the world as I have before, no epiphany effecting my general outlook. The gentleman, searching for vanities across the land, adventure, love, and prey."
