About the signature

I've seen some people with pictures in their sig. How does one do that? Or is that for a select 'few'?

No one has pictures in their signature. That feature has been disabled. Since it is rare to see a non-hideous signature graphic -- and to maintain a level of decorum -- signatures are text-only. You can upload any sort of graphic or photograph as a profile picture, however.
