View Full Version : I am Legion, for we are many.

Legion
01-10-08, 12:18 AM
Name: Was known a different name in the past, now goes by 'Legion'.
Age: Ageless. Doesn't keep track of such things.
Race: Major Demon
Height: 10'7"
Weight: 550 lbs
Origin: A minor demon that was possessed by over 1,000 tortured mortal souls, granting him additional powers. Ascended to major demon status.
Personality: Most of the time, Legion is cocky and destructive, obliterating all he can get away with. When he senses a threat, however, he becomes the very picture of seriousness. He focuses completly on the tast of eliminating the threat. If success is impossible, he will not hesitate to escape, using whatever innocent he can capture as a hostage.
Appearance: Standing taller than most ceilings, it is hard for Legion to avoid standing out in a crowd. with his horns similar to that of a longhorn bulls' and his large wings, he is what most people think of when you mention the word 'demon'. His byceps are the size of basketballs (if those existed in Althanas), and his thighs are as big around as a typical males' waist.

Weapons:

Broad Iron Blade: Nothing special, exept it is made from a very dense form of iron. It isn't sharper, but it doesn't weaken with age, and due to its size and thickness it is resistant to breaking. This particular weapon is as old as Legion himself, and shows it in wear. It is dull from dirt, and chipped in a few places. It is 5 feet long, and weighs around 50 lbs.

Flame Whip: All demons of Legions' status can produce a whip made of hellfire from their own life force to weild as a weapon, but due to the transition between worlds, Legion has temporaily lost the ability to use hellfire. Will gain at higher levels.

Skills:

Flight: Legion has wings that stand as tall as a typical male, although at this time, they cannot stand up to his weight, so he cannot fly. Might gain the ability at higher levels. As for injuring them, they apply as tough as the skin on his back (see Iron Skin below).

Strength: Due to his racial ability and his size, Legion is 1.5 times the strength of a typical male. This ability is reduced somewhat due to the unfamiliar environment that Althanas has. Will improve at higher levels.

Speed: Legion's height improves his stride. When walking and running, he moves at 1.5 times the speed of a typical male of average height. Unsure if this skill will improve as it is not hindered by Althanas' environment.

Iron Skin: Various areas of Legions' skin are as tough as the typical iron one can purchase at a shop. These areas include chest, arms, front of legs, face, and neck. Strong thrusts using a melee weapon can still penetrate. With time and constant assault the skin can weaken, becoming as weak as the following description. The areas not included are the back of the legs, head, and Legions' back. The skin is tough, but even arrows that have enough force can injure. With enough rest, usually 8 hours, his skin returned to it's origional state.

Mind of Legion: The many different creatures that inhabit Legion impart their knowledge to him. there are over 1,000 souls belonging to different races and professions and each one gives their life experiences to him to use. Exorcism is impossible, as the individuals sold their souls for selfish reasons and cannot be extracted.

Hellfire Profiecency: Hellfire burns longer and hotter than normal flames, and cannot be extinguished with plain water, as it evaporates before it can touch the flame. Holy water can douse hellfire, but if there is none, the the flame must die down. Legion can create and weild hellfire as a second nature, as can all demons of his status, but he temporarily lost the ability upon coming to Althanas. Will gain at higher levels.

Weakness':

Direct light: Sunlight in general has no effect on Legion, but if it is reflected off of something directly into his eyes, it causes him to stop what he is doing to recover. It isn't fatal, just really bothersome. This is not limited to sunlight. Even lantern light at night might have an effect. It is because of this that he dirtied up his own blade so he would not blind himself while using it, so the reflection would not appear. this might disappear upon achieving higher levels.

Slow to react: Legion might be faster on foot than most, but reaction time is slow. Against a fast opponent, he would have trouble. This is in part due to his size, but also the weight and size of his weapon.

Low Energy: Without the environment of Hades to sustain him, Legion has to rest after a few posts of continuous activity. Lifting heavy objects, running and attacking, etc.

History:

Before the name Legion was known all over Hades, there was a minor demon that was in charge of ushering new souls to the fire pits, the racks, the swinging pendulums, and the various other devices meant to drive a soul mad for all eternity. He was tortured himself by his superiors, often for amusement other than punishment, until the demon decided to get back at them. For centuries he devised a plan to rid himself of his superiors, until it came to him.

The demon went missing. He did not report to the gates of Hades to bring the new souls to their destinations. At first the major demons didn't care, they just appointed another to the task, until they noticed a large number of already imprisoned souls had went missing to. A vast amount of hellfire spew out of a nearby corridor, burning all to a crisp. There was nothing left of the major demons who once tortured the one who would one day destroy them. Legion was born, and appointed to the title of major demon, and granted rule over a percentage of Hades. He seemed to have everything he wanted, but he didn't.

The countless souls that Legion had convinced to sell themselves to him pulled at his own soul. A bargain had been made. In exchange for the power only they could give him, Legion had to do something for them. In each of their pasts, they all shared something in common. The same being was responsible for their deaths. Details about this mystery murderer was unknown, but Legion was granted the combined knowledge and experience the souls had to track down and avenge them, then their powers would belong to Legion forever.

The knowledge of the souls told Legion that they once lived in a small world called Althanas. His quest begins.

((I can tone some things down a bit if necessary. I know it seems easy to powergame this guy, that's why I added the weaknessess.))

Three changes, and we should be done here.

Your strength can be 1.5 times that of a normal human male.

And I need you to specify that your Iron Skin weakens with each hit you take, and eventually you can be cut. It should take some rest for your skin to return to normal.

And finally, your sword cannot be immune to breaking.
