View Full Version : His grudge will never die

Lucifer Blight
05-19-06, 02:58 AM
Name: Lucifer Blight
Age: 28
Race: Human
Hair Color: Dark Black
Eye Color: Dark Brown
Height: 5’10”
Weight: 165lbs
Occupation: Outcast Prince

Personality: Much like the fallen angel from which his name comes from, Lucifer has a fierce hatred for the world. His attitude is not only that of immense superiority, but that most people in this world are not worthy of their own lives. Lucifer has absolutely no compulsions against using people to his own end, or even killing people simply out of annoyance. As such, the world views him as an outcast, and he intends to fulfill that role by destroying anything that gets near him.

Appearance: Lucifer Blight has a medium build, being neither muscular nor overweight, his actual body tone falls somewhere in-between. The clothes worn by Lucifer are well made due to his rank in life, which is a prince. Usually, he wears a very dark silver outfit that covers his entire body. The outfit consists of a loose long-sleeve shirt tucked into Lucifer’s pants, which extend over the brown boots he wears. The outfit is made out of cloth, and although it is a rough sort of cloth made for constant use, it offers little protection against weapons. Lucifer also wears a dark blue cape (made of the same rough cloth) that is long enough to be wrapped around his entire body if need be.

Lucifer’s black hair is slightly long in the front part, causing several black strands of hair to fall forward in front of his face. The rest of the hair is pushed backwards, stopping at the back of his neck. Most of the time, a look of hate permeates the face of Lucifer Blight, and his eyes project this more than anything else. Pure, untamed anger can be viewed in this man’s eyes, and his glare can tear apart the weak-willed.

History:
To be born into royalty is truly something special. In no way are you different from the next person, but for some unknown reason, God chooses to place you in a life of complete privilege. The differences between commoner and royalty are obvious at first glance; only a fool would be unable to tell the difference. The royalty are handed life on a silver platter, and the commoner must scrape out a harsh living. Their bodies are the same, but for some reason one is given everything and the other I given next to nothing.

At least, that is what is expected and written down in the storybooks. But what happens when one is born into royalty, but still given nothing? Or better yet, is denied all the opportunities given to others of royal birth? Some would say that this is no more than justice, and the outcast royal should learn to live life like the rest of the world has to, namely with sweat and hard work. However, sometimes the outcast just won’t accept this role. Anger and rage build up in the man’s mind as he watches others have what he knows he should have as well. Hatred begins to seep into every vein of the man, and eventually, it will rule the mind of the man as well. Such is the case of Lucifer Blight.

There’s always one sure-fire way to seize a throne. A throne taken with the blood of the previous king is still a throne, no matter who had to die in the process. A man can kill a king, and in doing so (with the proper planning), become the next king. The people of Carthage were no stranger to such a succession.

The greatest time for a power struggle is right after the death of the current king, and that’s exactly when a power hungry noble named Agares Victus made his move. The Blight family currently held the throne, and with the death of the current king the successor was obvious. The king had one son named Hugo Blight, and all thought he would be the next king. However, as a political ploy to strength ties with a neighboring kingdom, Hugo had been sent off to marry. Everyone knew that the marriage was political, but such things are commonplace and no one had any real objection. However, in order to take the throne, Hugo knew he had to return to his own kingdom for the coronation.

It was a dark day when Agares struck. Returning with his fiancé, Hugo’s party was met by a group of masked men. Although masquerading as bandits, any trained eye noticed that the skill and equipment of the attacking men were far superior to that of any normal bandit. Outclassed and outnumbered, the party soon found themselves surrounded. The “bandits” orders were simple; spare no one but Hugo’s fiancé. The masked men ruthlessly slaughtered Hugo, his guards, and all attendants. Clutching the dead the dead body of Hugo, Alicia prepared herself for the worst. Yet the group hesitated when they reached her, and for a very good reason. Agares had given no orders on what was to happen to the defenseless fiancé of the dead prince.

The plan was simple, yet brilliant. After the slaughter was over, Agares rode out with his own personal troops and quickly slaughtered all of the bandits, and in doing so silenced all who knew of the masterful coup. Not only had Agares managed to create an opening to the throne, but also he had made himself look like a hero in the eyes of the townspeople. Left with no Blight to carry on the family lineage, the kingdom was forced to find a new man to sit on the throne. Agares, the hero who had rescued Hugo’s fiancé, was the obvious pick. However, there was one thing that Agares had not counted on. He had never expected Alicia to be pregnant.

In truth, the Hugo had planned to return home and take the throne as well as marry Alicia in the very same day. In doing so, he would fulfill his promise to the neighboring kingdom, as well as become king with a child that would have been of legitimate birth. However, with his body being buried in the dirt, such a plan was obviously not possible. Agares quickly took Alicia as his own wife in order to form a political tie with the neighboring kingdom, but was at a lost as to what to do about the unborn child carried by Alicia. Then, ever the political mastermind, Agares realized that the unborn son would be a bastard.

For nine months Agares began a campaign to dirty Hugo’s child’s name before he was even born. During those nine months, Agares made it clear that a bastard could not take the throne. After all, whomever Alicia gave birth to was not of Carthage birth. The child could obviously not be allowed to dirty the royal line with his filthy blood. Agares promised to raise the last Blight well (seeing as how killing the son of his now current wife was an unacceptable solution), yet Agares insisted the royal line remained pure blooded. A bastard simply could not inherit the throne.

By the time the boy was born, the damage had already been done. The boy was named Lucifer (an evil name in a certain religion), in an attempt to further outcast him. As he grew, Agares made one thing clear. Lucifer could have whatever he wanted, but the throne was forever out of a bastard’s reach. Agares had his own three children that would be in line for the throne.

And that was how Lucifer was raised. In truth, the throne was his by right, but now it was forever beyond his reach. The two sons and single daughter of Agares previous marriage were pure, this bastard child was not. When Alicia passed away from a rare disease, Agares power only grew. The current king was in no rush, he merely had to wait out this one last Blight, and the kingdom would pass to the Victus family.

Of course, Lucifer hated this role he was handed. He knew that he should be sitting where Agares sat, but that throne was clearly out of his reach. For years hate festered within the young man, for years he heard whispers of how unfit he was. For years the nobles whispered of the disgrace the bastard child had brought to the royal house, and it would be best when the royal line of the Blight finally came to an end.

Lucifer was twenty when his mother (who had been forced to change her name to Alicia Victus) died. Perhaps that was the straw that finally broke the camel’s back. What little threads of sanity Lucifer still had unraveled, and his hate for the world came in full force. Lucifer quickly enlisted in the military (which was no problem with Agares, since there was a better chance of Lucifer dieing if he was out fighting), and for eight years he trained as hard as he could. He became ruthless in battle, despising all that stood before him and around him. And in that bitter moat of hate, Lucifer hatched a plan to not only rid the world of the Victus family, but of the kingdom that had failed the last true king as well…

Skills:
Sword Skills: Due to Lucifer’s bastard birth, he is completely forbidden from achieving any sort of position through political power or birthright. As such he has put all his focus into fighting, deeming that even though he can never truly become king of the land, he could at least be a king of war. Although his is skilled in the art, he is far from a master. Although he could handle people that have never touched a sword before easily, a well-trained adversary could give Lucifer a hard time, and a master of the art could crush the mad prince.

Bloodlust: Lucifer’s bloodlust is insatiable. At times, his lust for battle can overtake him, causing him to unleash his rage in full force. When activated, Lucifer’s body will begin to glow a slight red and wisps of dark red energy will slowly seep away from his sword. In such a state, Lucifer gains slightly heightened senses, and as such he moves slightly faster and hits just a little bit harder. In no way does he become super human and most people will not be overwhelmed by the increase in his strength. Still, this skill gives him the little extra boost that he sometimes needs. However, after returning to his original state, Lucifer does tend to feel a bit more tired and worn out than usual. When activated, this skill lasts only for one post, and it may only be used once per thread.

Equipment:
Resentment: Resentment is a bastard sword, ironically wielded by a bastard child. Perhaps Lucifer uses this weapon simply because of that fact, or perhaps he just likes the balance of power and speed that the weapon brings. Either way, it is Lucifer’s weapon of choice, and it is always by his side. The blade itself is made of steel and is almost three feet long, with an additional seven inches for the hilt. The hilt guard is actually two four inch pieces of steel that protrude from both sides of the hilt in a curved manner, preventing an opponent from simply slashing down the blade and into Lucifer’s exposed hands.

The uniqueness of a bastard sword is in its hilt, which can be held with either one hand or two, depending on the wielder. As such, it is technically a “one and a half” handed sword. Lucifer enjoys this versatility, for it allows him to keep one hand free if necessary. In fact, Lucifer prefers to fight one-handed if he can, believing that having one hand free is more advantages than the extra speed and strength he can gain by fighting two handed. Still, he is not averse to switching styles if necessary.
