I need some new swords

I was heading twords the citadel, thinking to myself on the long trip, when I came upon a beautifull port town, full of shops. I thought to myself "mabey I can get the ninja swords that I have been wanting." I started to look around the shops, looking for a sword shop. Just when I was about to give up my search, I noticed a sign made of two crossed swords and a bow hanging from a shop doorway. I made a beeline to that shop, hopeing to find what I was looking for. I entered the shop and began looking around, examining the occasional interesting weapon or bow, but not right away finding what I was looking for.

The chime of the bell over the front door drew my attention away from the elderly gentleman I was helping.

"I'll be with you in a moment, if you find what you are looking for go ahead and come to the counter." I called as I watched the fox like woman for a moment or three before giving my attention back to my customer with an apologetic smile. As I did with every person I was not familiar with, I tracked their progress through my shop by the mirrors placed in strategic places.

With the order placed and paid for I did the older man a courtesy and escorted him to the door, wishing him a good day. The blonde head of the wandering woman was easy to spot over the shelves she looked over.

"Good day and welcome to my shop. I'm Elena, how may I help you today?" I leaned my shoulder against a shelf as I brushed a bit of dust from the short sleeve of my red sundress.

As I was looking through the store, the store mannager walked up to me and asked "Good day and welcome to my shop. I'm Elena, how may I help you today?"
"I am looking for a matching ninja sword set, and I was hopeing that you would have them, do you?"

Nodding I gestured for the woman to follow me and headed for a small corner of the shop.

"I carry paired swords, most of them are Katana to Wakizashi but I know I have a few Katana that have been paired with another Katana. Also if you don't see what you are looking for I also carry Tachi and Tsurugi." I waved a hand at a shelf that held several blades on it.

"All of the swords here are steel and common wood. For anything different it will have to be made and will take several days to forge."

I listened as the storekeeper explained to me what she carried and that if I wanted anything different, it would need to be custom made. I responded by asking “I’m just looking for a pair of matched straight edge katanas” I smiled, hoping that she had them. “I’ve looked everywhere for them, but it seems no one carries them.”
Laughing lightly, I added “I’m really interested in that kind of thing.”

"You are in luck. I carry what I think you are looking for." Turing, I pulled a pair of sheathed Katana off of the shelf the oak wood of the sheath and hilt stained a brilliant red.

"This set is of average quality and is made of stained oak and steel, the blades measure 60 cm. They cost 350 gold. I have another set just like this one that the blades measure the max of 90 cm. Any longer than that and the blade gets thrown into another category." Carefully laying the swords aside I picked up another set, this one of varnished with a clear lacquer to let the natural wood grain show.

"This set is of a slightly lesser quality, the blades are 60 cm long. It costs 290. If you find a set you like and you wish to have the lacquer taken off or added it would be no problem."

I examined the three sets of swords that the storekeeper had shown me, and pouted. The sword that I liked best was too expensive for me, costing 350 gold when I only had 300. I was forced to either wait or purchase the clear varnished one, which cost less, but didn't appeal to me. So I asked "Could you posibly hold the stained oak set untill I can afford it? I really like it but I only have 300 gold on me."

Unable to help myself I smiled at the pout, it was sort of cute I thought. I paused for a moment to listen to my shop to see if any of my customers were near by.

"Most often by the time items reach my store they are slightly over priced, but I never truly know. I'll knock off the fifty gold to bring it down to three hundred for you." I glanced at the end of the row before glancing back at the woman with a mischievous smile.

"Come on, we'll get things set up for you."

[Andromeda]

"Thank you," I said, "it is very kind of you to do that for me, and I truly appreciate it." I followed the storekeeper to the counter and waited as she wraped the sword set. I paid her as she handed me the freshly wraped set, saying "Thank you again. I just hope niether of us gets into trouble for this." Then, as an afterthought, and an attempt to be polite, I added, "It was a pleasure doing business with you, and I hope we may meet again farther down the road of life."

Setting the gold in the lockable box I waved at the woman and called after her, wishing her a good day.


Transaction complete. Andromeda loses 300 gp.
