View Full Version : Ashtar, the Cosmic Avatar

Ashtar
01-14-08, 10:10 PM
Name: Ashtar; real name is different, but this name is what is chosen at this time.

Age: Over 4 billion years of age. He has lived through the births and deaths of many universe's existances.

Race: Cosmic Avatar. Not a race, but more of an occupation. Closest to gods that one can get, they are immortal, and able to hold vast amounts of imformation. They see all others as 'lesser beings'. Over the course of time they have seen everything and experienced everything. They have no permanent form, and because of that, they choose a form everytime they choose to appear before mortals.

Personality: Like most Cosmic Avatars, Ashtar is arrogant. He has experienced everything in his eons long life, and reflects it. If he should appear before a person, it is usually to help them, however, due to Ashlars' unseen design.

History (somewhat pointless, since he has been all races in his life, as well as all professions. I will add as I go, as I level up.):

Ashlar has lived throughout all recorded time, and more, under different names and different professions. During his existance, he as been generals, explorers, scholars, and every other combination of things. He has no set goals, at least no apparent goals. Whatever he is planning is most likely too complex for lesser beings to grasp. He is not limited to Althanas. Some accomplishments will occur off-world.

Abilities (Numerous, I know, but limited. Ashtar is more of a support role, not offensive. No need to fear of powergaming):

Activation: Ashtar snaps his fingers to activate his powers. In the off-chance that his hands are bound in a manner that stops this, he cannot use his abilities.

Varible Shape: Cosmic Avatars have no shape of their own. They can change their shape while teleporting to whatever humanoid or weaker shape they choose. They can choose a humanoid form, and add one or two features (wings, gills, etc). They usually assume the form of whoever their interacting with. Ashtar himself, however, usually takes a form of a winged man(appears human) wearing a mask. He can fly while in this form, but usually don't. These changes are appearance only, exept for natural ability (wings=fly, gills=breathe underwater, etc). He cannot learn a characters special ability just be becoming him/her.

Teleportation: Ashtar can teleport himself and one other willing person to a place up to 50 feet away. He and the other reappears in a neutral state, so there won't be any immediate offensive action after teleportation. It is during this action that Ashtar can change his shape, but only during quests. Ashtar can see the area into which he is teleporting, so he won't appear inside an object.

Cosmic Paradise: Not an ability, more of a location. The paradise is Ashtars' home plane. He can teleport himself and himself only once a thread. From here he is effectivly invisible. He can watch and listen to anything that goes on in the area that he left from. That is all he can do there, however.

Conjure: All Cosmic Avatars have the ability to create something from nothing. Right now, Ashtar is limited to the following weapons, all of the simple iron quality. Longsword, Hand Axe, and Double-Bladed sword. He can also create an iron tower shield. Only one of these items can exist at a time. Ashtar is able to use these weapons in an average manner. Once these items leave Ashtars' hands, they go back to the nothingness.

Awareness of Surroundings: Due to the slight omnipotence Cosmic Avatars possess, Ashtar is aware of everything that happens 50 feet from his location, as long as solid walls do not obstruct him.

Possessions: Nothing. Everything that happens to be on his person at any time is created from his own life force, unless it is a unique item that is aquired through other means.

(I know something will have to go. What issues are there?)

Actually, I don't think anything will need to go. Some clarification is required, however.

In Variable Shape, please make a note that, while he can take a form of the person he's interacting with, his attributes do not change accordingly and remain at his normal level. This is so you can't turn into level 12 Damon Kaosi just by meeting him.

Also, please limit yourself to conjuring three weapons and a shield for now.

And don't go crazy with Teleportation.

That's about it.

Wow. Thought most of it would have to go. Changes made, and you don't have to worry about Teleportation. As said before, he is purely a support character.

Nah, nothing is overly powerful.

You are approved! Thank you for your cooperation and welcome to Althanas.
