Occupation: Information Dealer

History:

Jarret was a gifted child to say the least. When others were struggling with things such as reading and writing, he was breezing through; only truly needing to study perhaps an evening before learning what he knew was required. It was these skills he would hone to perfection beyond all else. As he toiled away practicing minor forms of scribing magic he finally discovered the secrets of his card magic. Practicing it away for years he found true joy when he was able to not only scribe information onto cards, but keep it secret until such time as it was needed.

He would often wander out trying to find out as much as he could about the world before returning home each day, remembering the flawless details of everything he had encountered. He had often forgone fighting lessons in the sake of gathering more information about the world about him. He is an intelligent individual versed in lore and rumors, but cannot fight his way out of a wet paper bag. Still, with all of this he is silent and observant. He will more often than not sneak out of fights than enter them, watching from the shadows.

Items:

2 Steel daggers

25 Cards that can accept the Card Scribe ability

1 Dossier Card (Himself)

1 Pack of leather used to carry his cards and equipment.

4 Card Cases (each holds up to fifty cards.)

Skills

Card Scribe – Jarret’s specialty is Card Scribing, a practice of Magic that involves using cards to retain information. Each inscribed card holds only a solitary symbol, of which Sakai only knows the importance. Using his memory he can go through his cards and flawlessly pull out the one he needs. The scribing of the cards can take anywhere from one post to three posts depending on what he is scribing, how much information is being scribed, and how rested Jarret is.

If he is scribing a dossier it takes two posts flat out.

If he is scribing information on a town, it takes 2-3 posts.

If he scribes information on items, it takes 1-3 posts.

Since to anyone who looks at them the cards only have symbols it is obvious the magic doesn’t stop there. By using his own personal energy he can then expand the card to any length and width he specifies, and change the face to reveal its information. In this state the card bonds to any surface it is on, preventing someone from taking or moving it. When he touches it again, it reverts back to its former state, a simple card with a symbol on it.

Eidetic Memory – Jarret also has an eidetic memory, allowing him to remember anything said or done in front of him. This allows him to retain this information until such time as he scribes it. One thing that differentiates him from others though, is he can ignore and selectively forget information he doesn’t want or need. The process of forgetting takes a full post of concentration.

Analytical Eye – Jarret’s third ability allows him to analyze any move or spell done before him and try to devise a counter for it. The more he sees the move, the faster he can come up with a counter. This ability is one that upon seeing the move gives him intimate knowledge of its workings. He may not know how many times a day it can be used, but watching it in action tells him how it was done, and how it works. However, this ability isn't foolproof. Often times the counter to these abilities might be something he himself cannot do anyways.

Stealth – Should Jarret choose to, he can move silently and seems to merge with shadows. This isn’t magic; it’s merely his training at work. While he may not be a good fighter, he can and does practice the art of stealth, allowing him to sneak up and eavesdrop on important conversations and surprise attack enemies. Again higher skilled opponents seem to see through the arts of stealth and can find him if they put forth effort to do so.

I see Analytical Eye as another way of saying he's perceptive, so I don't think the skill itself is too strong. The first time I read it I did, but I don't think you're going to be cheap with it.

Approved, card captor :p
