Eleazar Lachrist, the Oceanic Nobleman
Basic Character Traits
Name: Eleazar Lachrist
Race: Human (half-Caucasian, half-Oriental)
Gender: Male
Age: 21 (born on December 12th, 1557)
Height: 5’8’’
Weight: 162 lbs.
Hair Colour: Jet black, dark purple in the sunlight
Eye Colour: Deep silver-blue
Physical and Personality Characteristics
Appearance:
I remember that boy… he was just like his parents – regal, extremely attractive and controlled an aura of authority, although his power was gentle and nurturing, like the clear blue sea, providing care for its children. From his mother he inherited the flowing black-purple hair of the Orient, and from his father, the striking watery silver-blue eyes of the light-skinned Philistines. Everyone, including myself, recognized him as Elgar Lachrist and Nezumi Sadako’s child; it was so easy to tell. His hair used to run asymmetrically like a strong river to his chin, shaping his oval face. I remember he always wore an expensive white top under a royalty-styled black long-sleeve shirt with white gloves, sleek black pants and shiny black shoes. His exquisite blue-white imperial coat covered his slender frame; the coat was the most imposing thing about him. His presence was always gratifying, and sometimes even securing, for he almost always wore his trusted iron sword in his fine-looking sheath, concealed amongst the clothing. His armour, made him look even grander, with his grey steel gauntlets covering his hands and his silver steel greaves running up to his knees. He looked like an ocean, demanding respect but also offering a safe haven from hazard. He was a beautiful young man, if only he…

Personality:
Everybody knew Eleazar, and he knew everybody – I knew him, and he knew me. He used to befriend the oddest people, from the perverted old lady down the corner shop to the most famous noble of Moonglitter, Joseph Fluxengard. He never minded about the social status of a person, and it was like he saw something in everyone that no one could see. I remember that many young women willingly offered themselves happily to him for his pleasure but not once did he bring any of them home – such a respectable uncompromising young man. Although his father always used to start arguments, Eleazar was more like his mother, who was pacifistic and avoided conflict as much as she could. It was said that Eleazar was even afraid of hurting himself, which would not be at all shameful if you ask me, but unless the circumstances were dire, he usually talked his way out of violence. Eleazar’s pacifism was not as strong as his loyalty, though. Although not many unfortunate incidents happened in Moonglitter, it was a fact that Eleazar would have never abandoned his family or friends to an ill-fated confrontation.
Oddly, although Eleazar was always cheerful and his smiled could brighten the darkest depths of the sea, he always seemed so… cold, distant and lonely. I am sure that I was not the only one who noticed it, but not many people talked about it anyway. It could have been because he was the only child of the Lachrists, but it seemed to be deeper than that. It was as if he was hiding a deep secret in the darkest recesses of his soul, and that by secreting it, he was “protecting” his people, us. Nobody knew of any fateful events in his youthful life, but then again, no one could know everything about a person. Eleazar’s eyes always expressed an inner sadness… or turmoil, but his smile was so bright that most people overlooked that. Maybe it had something to do with his father? They were rarely seen together, and when they were, it seemed as if everything was shallow between them. Or maybe his mother? She was always so soft-spoken that maybe she was hiding something from him. Eleazar was a complicated man. He was like the deep sea – he buried his secrets in the depths of his oceanic being, and lifted his charm up to the surface for everyone to see. It was such a shock when he…

Armour: Imperial Steel Greaves, Imperial Steel Gauntlets

Character Special Abilities / Spells
Charm – Eleazar has the natural ability to smooth-talk to almost anyone. Because of his charming nature, he can talk his way out of fights, convince people to believe in what he says (even though it could be a lie) and draw out information from people without breaking a sweat. His talents can also extend financially – although shopkeepers can be very stubborn, Eleazar can sometimes persuade them to give him a small discount.
Swordplay – Eleazar began his training with the difficult art of swordplay when he was yet a child. Although a two-time sword tourney champion, Eleazar is still an average swordsman. He is far from becoming an expert and still has much to learn but he can hold his own against an opponent of equal strength and skill. Eleazar would much rather talk things out before he engages in battle, for he knows he will come out injured in the end.
Cold Ocean – Being able to manipulate the natural elements of the world has been a Lachrist talent for many generations. Eleazar was blessed with the ability to control water – biologically speaking; he inherited the gene from Nezumi Sadako, his mother. The power is only a recent discovery and Eleazar can only manipulate small amounts of water, not heavier than a large bucket. In addition, a body of water, still or running, is required as a source for Eleazar to use his power. Although the ability’s speed and strength is fully controlled by Eleazar, he has found that he can only use his power at will three times a day. Eventually, through training and experience, it can become a devastating gift.

History:
Such a beautiful boy… all the pain… all the suffering… all the blood… it was worth it. Elgar and I decided to name him Eleazar… we wanted him to have aspects of both our names in his. I am so happy… all the nurses said that he looks exactly like us. Such a precious baby boy… his black hair is obviously from me, but he received his father’s striking watery silver-blue eyes. Even as a newborn child, it seems that he commands such authority. Looking at him now… he is so handsome…
~ December 27th, 1557 ~ Nezumi Sadako
My, my, my. Eleazar has such potential! He just started his swordplay classes last week and the little warrior is blowing his classmates out of the water! Eight year old boys being beaten by a child three years younger than them… I wonder what their parents think of them?
~ March 9th, 1563 ~ Elgar Lachrist
Eleazar has just won his first championship! I am so proud of him! That’s my boy… strong and victorious. My son would never have lost. He beat out all those twelve year olds, and the little warrior is only ten! How embarrassing for their parents.
~ June 30th, 1568 ~ Elgar Lachrist
It’s weird having a famous friend. But then again, Daddy’s famous, too, so it’s okay. At least I get to talk to him about things that matter to me. Daddy would never do that and Mommy would just go out with her friends, leaving me to Nana. Eleazar’s nice, though. And he’s cute, too!
~ April 5th, 1572 ~ Hilary Fluxengard
Eleazar is one of the nicest people I have met. I didn’t know that nobles could be so nice. Everyone looked at me as if I was some fish out of the water when Eleazar asked to spar with me. Even though I lost (I wasn’t that bad, though, my paper sword just… ripped), he didn’t boast. Not once. Okay. Maybe just once.
~ July 17th, 1572 ~ Chayle Sharpfold
By all that is good, I hate him! How dare he… how dare he! That Fluxengard snake… he cannot do that to anyone… to ME! I thought Joseph was my friend! Threatening to tell everyone that I slept with him… if I did not let him have me… Elgar would… If Elgar finds out about this… he would… I dare not think of what he would do. His status would be ruined… because of me. Elgar and Eleazar must never find out.
~ October 13th, 1574 ~ Nezumi Sadako
As expected, Eleazar has finally grown into his powers. He inherited my water powers. I was almost certain he would receive his father’s fire abilities, for he seemed to be so much like his father. Maybe I am the only one seeing the similarity. Well, he’s a water bearer, and nobody can change that. I am proud, nonetheless.
~ December 12th, 1576 ~ Nezumi Sadako
Yet again, my little (or rather, adult) warrior has won a championship. His second one, after forcing him to enter into the bi-annual Regional Swordplay Tourney. It was a long time coming after his first victory ten years ago. He even beat men in their thirty’s, looking like they have been training all their life. But I wonder how that paper magician came in second place. Well, sure, he was good, but… he was a peasant for heaven’s sake! At least Eleazar defeated him – that is all that matters.
~ January 31st, 1578 ~ Elgar Lachrist
I got a scholarship for my swordsmanship at the tournament! Hilary and Eleazar are so proud of me! I’ll be leaving for Philistina at the end of November and the school year starts in June. My trainer Ranz Firebrand, whom I have yet to meet, told me that I have to start training before going to the renowned Swordsmanship College. I guess its goodbye Moonglitter, hello Gardenblood!
~ February 7th, 1578 ~ Chayle Sharpfold
How could Daddy have done that to Ms Sadako?! Eleazar stumbled upon some photos… Ms Sadako must feel so mortified! I guess it’s just right for Mr Lachrist to fire Daddy from the Fluxengard-Lachrist Corporation… but now I have to move away! To another country… away from my loyal knight... why do things have to turn out this way? I love my Eleazar…
~ August 26th, 1578 ~ Hilary Fluxengard
This is insane! The city’s in an uproar! Ever since Hilary’s family left for Vanan, the ex-Fluxengard-Lachrist Corporation went into a political and financial downfall. Food is hard to come by, because the business is running low on funds. Ms Sadako is a wreck, even though very few people know about what happened between her and Hilary’s dad. Mr Lachrist, on the other hand, is trying very hard to recuperate for all the damage the rape incident has caused on the Lachrist family. I think I’m rethinking leaving Moonglitter… Eleazar needs some moral support.
~ November 25th, 1578 ~ Chayle Sharpfold
There is much tension in the house tonight. Eleazar has not spoken to either Elgar or I and he has not invited any friends over for quite a while, but then again, Chayle just left for the Swordsmanship College in Gardenblood. He just keeps locking himself in his room. Maybe his birthday party tonight will cheer him up, even for just a while.
~ December 12th, 1578 ~ Nezumi Sadako
Nezumi and I never really got to talk things over about this Joseph business, so I’m bringing her to the office tomorrow night. We are going to talk about this, it does not matter how long it will take. I want to fix our relationship, start anew. And things are looking up anyway. Eleazar has just started speaking to us. The city is getting all the food and drink they need. This new year could turn our lives around.
~ December 31st, 1578 ~ Elgar Lachrist
There is nothing for me in Moonglitter. Hilary is not here. Chayle is not here. Mom and Dad just died in a freakin’ fire accident in the office. So much for a happy new year. Things haven’t gone my way since… heaven knows when! Yes, call me depressed. Yes, call me angry. Yes, you can even call me insane. But… there is nothing for me here. Maybe all I need to do is start fresh. In a new country... really far away. Yeah. It’s better if I leave –
