Dra
01-22-08, 11:42 PM
Name: Alexander-Who-Principally-Goes-By-Dra
Age: 19
Race: Human
Hair Color: Brown
Eye Color: Blue
Height: 6'
Weight: 10 Stone 8 (148 lb)
Occupation: Bard, Actor, Sorcerer

Personality:
Dra is an odd person with a very fluid, though usually incredibly light, personality. While he is usually lost in whatever one could constitute as his thoughts and otherwise presents a very happy and random front, he has been known to adopt a darker manner when presented with someone he doesn't like. During that period he has been known to act like the psychotic that many take him out to be by attacking whatever is the source of his bad mood with whatever happens to be on hand (which is usually his thumbs). He has also been known to become deeply connected to one person for a brief span of time. This usually lasts a couple weeks and then he moves on when the next fancy hits him.

Appearance:
The Person-Who-Normally-Constitutes-Dra, when seen in the wild, can often be identified as having something wrong with him with little more than a glance. This is mainly due to his generally unkempt manner and constant preoccupation with seeing what ways his legs can bend while still transporting him. Beyond that simple description, he is usually found wearing a simple beige tunic, a pair of similarly colored pants, and a dark brown vest. His carries with him a simple staff made from a discarded branch which helps him get to places his simple sandals might not allow him to get to. His hair is two or three inches short of shoulder-length and is generally found to be covering his eyes, at least in part.

History:
Of Dra-Who-Once-Was-A-Baby's parents, little is known. All his foster mother would say on that matter was that they were a bunch of bums. He has yet to believe her on that matter because he doesn't believe her concerning a lot of things. This is because, as a child, she lied to him about a fat man who would bring presents to good children. He had been good all year (well, as good as he rightly could be) and had gotten little more than a loaf of cheese and a wedge of bread. Anyway, by the time he was old enough to sing and dance, he was doing so. In fact, he was doing it so often that he got hired at a local theater around the age of eight. There he spent years entertaining the locals with tales of dragons and elements and donkeys. Eventually though, he got tired of performing for such "common, unimaginative people" (as the theater manager had called them) and left the theater.

Thankfully, on his way out, he met a wizard of some great power and an equal amount of feebleness. Knocking his able-bodied assistant out of the way, he agreed to replace him and take care of the old man in exchange for some lessons in basic magic. It was later that day that Squiggle was created when the two had made a trek through the shopping district. By the time he left seven years later he had garnered a great appreciation for simple broths and an elementary understanding of fire magic (the only thing the old man had been able to teach him).

Skills:
Dramatic Flames - The single domain of this bard/actor/sorcerer's abilities, they constitute the majority of his "act." Able to wield them as he sees fit, without need for incantation or rune manipulation, they are generally considered to be as hot as the forge without any of its patience. They can burn through wood, the weakest of metals (when concentrated in one point), and have even been known to boil things for long periods of time (small amounts; stews mostly). Their ferocity depends upon Dra-Who-Burns-Things's mindset and the toll they take upon their application. Considering his proficiency with them he can, for example, easily summon a number of smaller flames around his person with little effort. When summoning a bigger flame, or propelling it to a reasonable degree, he suffers of headaches and tiredness of breath. It is postulated that he could cause a wave of fire to erupt from him, but that would probably end up with him in a coma and thus he hasn't been willing to try it.

Mimery – After years of theater work, Dra is qualified as a fourth-level mime and has all the rights and power granted to those in such a position. Mostly, he can communicate reasonably well with others whose language he doesn't know or can otherwise anger them with just a few tricks.

Equipment:
Traveling Stick - It is a branch that Dra-Who-Walks uses to help him walk. It could probably be used as a weapon, but certainly not by Dra. He's more prone to poking things with it anyway.

Familiar:

Squiggle - The Squiggle, who could be affectionately known as Squig, Squiggy, Squiggles, Awww, or Hmph! depending on the time and day, is a product of Dra's unconscious mind. Formed after a particularly gruesome incident with a magician's wand, a lighter, and a scribe, it is Dra's "bestest friend ever." Though it normally just swings through the air bobbing and turning and morphing in reaction to its master's whims, it has been known at times to acts as his protector. It doesn't do this consciously. In fact, there has been no proof so far that it even has a consciousness. All of its actions seem to only be an extension of Dra's thoughts or intimate feelings. This may stem from the fact that it was borne from his unconscious, but that doesn't really matter. Suffice to say when Dra is surprised by something, the Squiggle defends. When he is angry at something, it straightens out and comes to resemble a weapon. When he is lackadaisical, which is almost all the time, it constitutes little more than an airborne, three-dimensional ball of randomly weaving and reconstituting ink.

Further Elaboration on Squiggle-In-A-Fight:
- Squiggle can be considered as strong as the weakest of weapons when attacking.
- Squiggle acts as high-tensile-strength coils to entrap a weapon when Dra is assaulted (and can see the weapon). This lasts for however long Dra is directly concentrating on the assault (which isn't long at all).
- Squiggle, when he is not acting on Dra's overwhelming desires (fear, hate, happiness, etc.), can be used to hold/manipulate/entrap things. Without the overwhelming emotion, it's hardiness is comparable to an average span of rope and its strength to a small boy (who lifts around 20 pounds at most).
- Squiggle, when struck, generally collapses into a couple strands of whatever-it-is-made of. It cannot really die, but will cease to be active until Dra concentrates on it again.

I don't want to see you running around burning through metal as if it's made of paper.
