True, there already is a thread like this in existence, however I feel that a new thread is in order, being that the old thread...is old.

So here it is, the new Character Theme Song thread! (Twice the shiny as last time)

If you're a newby to this concept, you just post what song you feel best represents your character and why.








For The Writing Writer, it's gotta be Clint Eastwood by Gorillaz. If you've heard the song, you know why. Cause that song is just as crazy/cool as The Writing Writer is. Duh.

I think it fits Melancor pretty well, It outlines Melancor's nostalgia, his boot off the Aegean, and basically his regret of undervaluing the human breed. It depicts Melancor's persecution in Istraloth for his deeds against the island as a divinity, and the struggle of his priests to reestablish his cannon and lore.

I guess he doesn't sound much like Jesus.

Ooh, I actually have that song on my iPod. It's pretty good.

As for theme songs, I'd have to think about it. I typically don't listen to music when I write. If I turn music on, I end up just listening to the music and I don't actually get anything done, so that's never really worked for me.

And as I've thought about it - for about two hours - I've decided that my characters can't really be pigeonholed into a single song.

Atzar's personality suggests something heavy and forceful, but most of that music (in my library, at least) is I-want-to-kill-myself or I-want-to-kill-you, neither of which fits him well. I'll have to think about it. Maybe "How Great Are You" by Course of Nature? Or Sevendust's "Clueless." I don't know.

It should be noted that "Familiar Taste of Poison" by Halestorm was the inspiration for one of his current solos, though. It works well for that quest, but that thread is somewhat isolated from the rest of his story and isn't really indicative of his personality otherwise.

Khariss has somewhat of an enigmatic personality that changes with the situation, and that's tough to put into music. He can go from jocular and laid-back to vicious and grim at the drop of a pin. Again, I'll think about it. I was kinda thinking "The Burning" by The Leo Project.

"Superman" by Ra fits my vision of Huacamon well enough. That's the only case in which I feel relatively comfortable assigning one song to a given character, and even then it's not perfect - just close.

Inpu... Slow, sad, dark... shit, "Shadows in Red" by Sevendust may work for him, and I wouldn't have even thought of that had I not been listening to the song right as I was writing this blurb. Go figure.

So yeah. This is a cool topic, and I'll probably think about this some more and change my mind about these later. Until then.

So do I, I was also thinking that Hold by Superchic(K) was also a great canadate, honestly, I never think of this stuff XD. The reason that Hold would be a good one is because of Iris' hard past, and how she's just trying to hang on and is trying (well, sorta was....Ashla!) to find someone to help her out and be able to trust someone for pretty much the first time.
