Aleister
05-22-06, 09:32 PM
Name: Aleister Il'asten
Age: Seventeen
Gender: Male
Race: Mixed, Human/Elven
Height: 5'9"
Weight: 147 lbs.
Hair Color: Blonde
Eye color: Emerald Green
Occupation: Heir to a Viscounty, Salvar.
Appearance: Aleister gives the impression of a youthful lad on the verge of manhood. His wide eyes are the color of a placid field, and give the idea of innocence. The boy's blonde, almost golden hair are a hint to some elvish blood in him. His hair is kept relatively short, although it seems messy most of the time. Aleister's lithe body and light complexion are results of a sickly childhood. While he is usually happy in public, his small mouth can often grow serious, deep in solemn thought. The noble's wardrobe is packed with fine clothes, but he usually sticks to one outfit made up of a pink shirt, brown vest and pants, and fine black shoes.
Personality: Many consider Aleister a sweetheart, and he's always ready to help someone out. A shy, introverted boy, he can always be counted on to give a friendly smile when meeting someone new. He's intelligent, an eager student, and always willing to try new things. The boy can be sensitive at times, and while normally happy, he can quickly become depressed if pushed too hard. Aleister can be indecisive at times, a trait not sought in nobility. Even worse, he has a tendency to submit to wills and ideas from more aggressive people.
Items:
-A Violin, nicknamed Violet. Brown in color, the insturment is of a fine make. Bow is included.
-A lavender change purse, containing 100 gold pieces.
-3 sets of clothing, including the one he wears most often.
Abilities:
-Violinist: Aleister is an excellent violinist, and with it he can become an artist. He knows more than a few songs by heart, and plays them as beautiful as a songbird. However, there's always room for improvement.
-Warmth: Since Aleister was a child, he's always had this strange ability. Placing his hands on the heart or the chest of the afflicked creature, Aleister can ease their pain and suffering until it is replaced by a warmth, a euphoria akin to true pleasure. However, as a result, the pain, emotional and physical, comes into Aleister, harming him at half the strength. This takes time, and can often lead to harm for the boy.
-Trilingual: Aleister knows three languages fluently. Salvic, Raiaeran, and the common speak.
-Archery: Aleister has a very bsic understanding of archery, but is not good at it at all.
History: Aleister was born the youngest child of Elen'dale and Viktoria Il'asten. Elen'dale, a half-elf general from Raiaera, paid a hefty dowry for Viktoria. She was the only child of a Salvic viscount, and when her parents died Elen'dale inherited the title and viscounty. Together, they had three children, two girls and one boy.
Growing up, Aleister was always resented by his parents. Even at a young age he showed to be too sensitive, and nobles of Salvar could never be so emotional. Despite Elen'dale's best attempts, Aleister never took to weaponry or hunting. The only thing even remotely 'manly' that the boy liked was archery, but even then it was only targeting hay stacks and was never any good at it.
Slowly he matured. His older sisters had become his only friends as his father never allowed any of the children to talk to the peasantry, and their viscounty was so isolated no other noble children were nearby. The boy grew quite fond of the violin at age ten, and hasn't stopped playing it since. Violet, what he named his violin, was given to him by his mother, in hopes that he'd get bored of the thing quickly if exposed to it. Around this time he began to show signs of his gift, calming mares as they gave birth to colts on his estate. However, these events left him vulnerable and his parents forbad him from using it anymore. From then on, he'd have to keep it secret whenever he tried his warmth.
Eventually, at the age of 17, Aleister's father grew weary of his son's 'weaknesses'. He arranged a trip to toughen him up, sending him to one of the harshest boarding schools in all of Raiaera. To add to the toughing experience, the trip will go through the harsh deserts of Fallien, most of it in carriage but the final mile or so on foot. Aleister, unable to take many of the creature comforts, was able to take Violet with him by sneaking it aboard the waiting carriage.
And now he heads for Fallien, for an experience he knows he will not enjoy.
