So I'm sitting here, having finally beaten Chrono Trigger for the first time. (Yes I knwo, I'm decades late, but I crossed the finish line at least...) And now I'm probably going to work at polishing off Super Metroid (Currently Stuck in Ridley's Area). So the point of this thread, is obviously to note the classics.

Now, for the purpose of this thread, classic will pertain anything from the N64 Generation and BACK. That means anything from Ps2, Xbox, Gamecube and on, is NOT eligible.

Throw out some favorite classics that you just couldn't get enough of. You knwo what I'm talking about, the ones that give you a reason to pull out your old system, forget that graphics matter and try to relive a bit of your childhood.

This thread is a BAD idea for me to post in, since a good 75% of my gaming can be considered "old school". And shame on you for just now beating Square's finest (say what you will about FFVII, you Sephiroth fanboys, Chrono Trigger defined what an RPG should be)!

N64:

Mischief Makers
Conker's Bad Fur Day
Ocarina of Time (duh)
Goldeneye 64/Perfect Dark
Blast Corps.
Mario Party 2--to me, that is the only one that should exist
Paper Mario
Super Mario 64
1080 Snowboarding
WWF No Mercy (best wrestling game ever)

PS1:

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
Metal Gear Solid
Metal Slug X
Skullmonkeys
Street Fighter Alpha 3

SNES:

Chrono Trigger
Secret of Mana
Super Metroid
Super Mario World
Yoshi's Island
Mortal Kombat 2
Donkey Kong Country 1-3
Link to the Past
Total Carnage
TMNT 4: Turtles in Time
The Pirates of Dark Water
Batman Returns
StarFox
Earthworm Jim 1 and 2
Earth Defense Force
Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
Super R-Type
Wario's Woods
Super Punch Out!!
Castlevania 4
Family Feud
Actraiser

NES:

River City Ransom
The Guardian Legend (my favorite game of all time)
Metal Storm
Super Mario Brothers 1-3
The Adventures of Link
Zanac
Blaster Master
Bionic Commando
Kirby's Adventure
StarTropics
Castlevania 1-3
Super Dodgeball
Megaman 2 and 3
Maniac Mansion
Metal Gear
Astyanax
Bucky O'Hare
Vice: Project Doom (better at being Ninja Gaiden than Ninja Gaiden was)
Ninja Gaiden 1 and 2
Journey to Silius (also some of the best music I've heard in a video game)
Xexyz
Crystalis
Final Fantasy
Bases Loaded
Ice Hockey
The Battle of Olympus
Dragon Warrior
Tiny Toon Adventures

This is only the short list. I've got plenty more games than this.

N64 - Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time & Majora's Mask, Super Mario 64, Star Fox 64, Goldeneye... Way too many

SNES - Super Mario Bros., Chrono Trigger, Kirby Super Stars

I was a nintendo fanboy until the PS2, but didn't really get into many games until PS2. Still, N64 was the glory days.

H'mm...well, we have an SNES, and the cartridges I found are Super Mario World, Super Mario All Stars, Ms. Pac-Man, and The Addams Family.

We also have a Sega Genesis, and I think there's some Dinosaur MK-style game and a Basketball game for that, and a PSX, and the disks I remember for that are FF7 (the only videogame I've ever been good at), and Spyro something or other.

I think that would be Primal Rage.

Maybe. I'd have to ask my sister. It was her favorite game.

It was Primal Rage.

I had the action figures for the game. I remember my mother bought me it because I got a booboo from a shot.

I liked trying to shoot the snickering dog in Duck Hunt.

There was an Atari game I used to play all the time, but I can't remember the name for anymore. It was a platform style ninja themed game, and at the first frame of the second level there was graffiti on the brick wall in the background of Andy Warhol's "Four Marilyns" only in different colors, I think. And the bonus round was like standing at the base of a bunch of stadium seating benches and having to put ninja stars in a bunch of ninjas as they went back and forth among the benchwork, getting closer each time. I wish I remembered the name of that game.

After the Atari, I got a Nintendo, but I only ever got two games for it. Super Mario Brothers and The Little Mermaid.

Then came the Sega Genesis, but I only ever had the Sonic game that came with it. It was a hand-me-down from a cousin, and he sold all the games to his friends before he gave me the console and the last game he had. When you've only got one game, you get really damn good at it.

In high school I got a PS for Christmas, with Tomb Raider and FF8. FF7 was the first game I bought with my own money, along with a copy of Suikoden 2 that I found in a game store for 10 bucks. Suikoden 2 remains to this day to be my favorite game ever.

Mention Earthbound, jerks.

I have about 45 SNES carts, all of them work but a few of them have issues with memory. Super Mario RPG will delete all its save files once in a while.

For that matter, I don't think anyone has mentioned Super Smash Brothers for the N64 yet

Tetris. On the Gameboy.

That one that uses 4 AA batteries.

Yes, that one. And Super Mario World 3.
