*Occupation: Unemployed/traveler

*Personality: Social and outgoing are the easiest words to describe Mathew with. He has alway been a boy that thrived when dealing with people, it didn't matter if it was as little as taking their order at his Father's inn or flirting with a couple of pretty girls at the market. The fact of the matter is he has always been a people person and despite his lack of education can be quite charming when he wants to be.
Another trait of his that is very prominent is his curiosity. Living in a big city has exposed him to a wide variety of people and cultures as merchants and drifters passed through his father's inn over the years. But, knowledge isn't the only thing he is curious for. With all of the travelers that would pass through town many of them would have strange objects or coins from various nations on them. All of which was interesting to Mathew, for the time being at least and small trinkets and loose coins from his Father's patrons would sometimes find themselves in his pockets when he didn't think they would be missed. This was almost always the case when he dealt with drunks.
Normally he is calm and collected choosing his words carefully to try and make himself seem a bit more likable so that his tips would be better. Though this isn't always the case and he can get quite excited and when he gets overly excited he tends to act on a whim rather then following his logic.
Appearance: With brown hair and brown eyes Mathew was never one to stand out in a crowd. He was always called cute or handsome but he was never the guy that girls swooned over due to small or large imperfections in his face depending on how one looked at it. An otherwise handsome face marred by a broken nose that never healed quite right, as teeth that were stained a very dull yellow so it always looks like his teeth are at least a day dirty.
Despite that though he is still one to smile a lot and from time to time he earns a giggle and a blush from a girl for his efforts. His hair like many working class men is kept a bit messy and unkempt simply because he normally doesn't have time to brush his hair too much before his day starts.
His build is smaller then a lot of men standing several inches shorter then average and being a tiny bit thin for his height makes him even less noticeable in a crowd, though he is quite fit having worked at his father's inn his whole life lifting up supplies and doing whatever needed doing. To those that do notice him though, he always seems to be moving or doing something whether it be flicking his bangs out of his eyes or tapping his fingers on his legs. That is if he isn't outright pacing.
History: Mathew Amtrum was the youngest son and overall middle child of Joseph Amtrum and Johanna Amtrum. His brother Connor was seven years his elder and his sister Rose would be born three years after him. He was born in to a middling family that owned a small inn named The Doherty. The Inn was of middling sucess mostly getting minor merchants and travelers as customers. Though some of the locals spent their evenings drinking the night away while gambling with dice in the corners of the Inn. But, in the overall picture of the city of Radasanth the Doherty was not even a dot on the map.
They had a nice enough location just a few blocks from the south gate making it a place of convience to their customers if nothing else. Being as small as it was the only people that worked in it was his family. His father handled the money and dealing with the customers with accommodation while his mother cooked in the back and cleaned the three rooms that they had upstairs for customers. His brother took peoples orders and brought them food as well as handled security making sure no one got two rowdy.
When Mathew turned eleven his brother decided to start his own life since he didn't want to live his life working with his father he left to join the infantry. And by default the torch passed to young Mathew who suddenly was thrust in to working. At first it was easy enough just bringing food to people and now and then helping his mother cook. That was because his dad filled in for a lot of what his brother would do. But as Mathew grew so did his responsibilities until he did everything his brother had done before him except for serving the tables, since his sister did that now.
Now and then his brother would get a chance to visit the old inn and see everyone. Almost always he would bring gifts. Flowers and candies for his sister Rose, exotic beers for his Father and pottery for his mother. Vases and urns that he bought while on duty. Things to spice the Inn up and make it look nicer. For Mathew though he gave knives. Like his older brother Mathew was never really content with a quiet life as an innkeeper and growing up both Mathew and Connor would talk of someday going on adventures or joining the army. These knives were Connor's way of helping Mathew with what had been only a dream when they were kids, and while their parents were busy with business Connor would take Mathew out back and show him how to use his gift. Every time he came for a visit Mathew would show him the progress he had made practicing on his own and every time his brother would correct his technique honestly. Praising him when he saw an improvment and scolding him when he messed up.
The infrequent visits from his brother did nothing to quell the growing wonderlust that Mathew felt. And over the years it grew and grew. He would often imagine what kind of things merchants and travelers saw during their travels and he would frequently dream that he was a traveler himself instead of being trapped helping his family run a small inn. Finally at the age of 19 he couldn't stand it any longer and that night he wrote a small if messy note telling his family that he was off to see the world and that he would be fine. And taking the money he had saved up over the years he set off that night not daring to wait until morning least his resolve fade with the rising sun.

Skills:
Daggers: Working in his father's inn he had to do a little of everything and one of his duties would be to make sure no one started any trouble. Because of this he took to carrying around a knife when on duty so that if anyone got any funny ideas and tried to harm him or a customer he would be prepared to stop it by words or force. (Below Average)
Cooking: Another one of his duties would be to cook now and then. This wasn't a normal job for him but it did happen and because of that he is an acceptable cook. About the skill level one would expect to find in a mildly successful inn. Though he has little interest in becoming a chef so it is unlikely that this skill will ever become a true talent. (Slightly below average)
Stealth: Being a bit mischievous and having roaming hands made him acquire certain skills to make sure he didn't get caught doing something he shouldn't be. So after many long years of perfecting his "art" he has become very adept at hiding in the shadows and moving quietly. Also providing that the person in question isn't paying too much attention to him or the object in question he has become quite adept at taking things without people noticing. (Above Average)
Climbing: Boy's will be boys and he always did like the outdoors. So like many young men he spent a lot of his early childhood climbing trees and buildings when his parents were not watching him. And to this day he likes to consider himself a fairly good climber. (Average)
Semi-Literate: He never had any formal schooling but he does know how to read and write to a degree as well as basic math. He is a sharp boy despite his lack of schooling and given enough time he is able to read almost anything as long as it is written in Common or tradespeak while any other language will probably be forever out of reach for him. (below Average)
Throwing: Another "skill" that has been honed from childhood. He is a pretty good shot with a ball or stone and tends to do decent at the fair when he plays any game that involves hitting a target with something thrown. Over time this has evolved from throwing stones to even throwing knives. (though he would be in very big trouble if his father learned that his son was throwing knives around.) (Average)
Equipment:
Throwing knives - Around 5 knives hidden on his body that are balanced for throwing. Two are hidden in his sleeves while two are hidden in his boots. A final one is hidden on his back. These are a gift from his older brother.
Basic traveling clothes - This includes all of the basics from a sturdy pair of leather boots that are comfortable and worn to several changes of clothing. All of which are plain clothing suitable for a an Innkeeper.
Basic traveling gear - This includes things such as flint and steal for making fires, a bedroll, and a small tent.
