Bounty Recruitment

Seeing as 3 of the 4 threads I was active in have wrapped up in some fashion or another in the last 36 hours, I find myself lacking in things to do. I guess that means it's time to start up a quest of some sort, maybe get some things rolling...

THE BOUNTY

The Premise:
A bounty has been placed on someone's head, (the who and why are being purposefully left vague, you see why in a minute) and Teric is out to get them.

The Where:
A small town in the Countryside, the kind of place where someone looking to lay low might run...

What I'm looking for:

Active, reliable people who would like to see this thread through to the end. Posting frequency is negotiable, but depending on how many people we have I think those capable of posting at least every 2-3 days would fit nicely.

-1 Player to be the bounty. The why of how a price got attached to their head can be up to this person. Maybe you ticked off a crime boss somewhere, or maybe you're running from the law, or maybe your wife/husband/significant other is looking to track you down after you ditched them and ran away. The sky is the limit with the 'why' so long as it's reasonably believable.

-1+ Player(s) to be a rival bounty hunter. Why not throw a little competition into the mix?

-1+ Player(s) to work with Teric in capturing the bounty. You'd essentially be subcontractors really, taking your orders from me.

The exact number of participants will be dependent on interest, and on how balanced we can keep the rival teams of bounty hunters chasing down the prey. I'd like to keep the bounty at 1 person though, for the sake of simplicity, and I'll warn you right now that it's not entirely feasible to have teams of 3 or 4 working to get 1 person...

Unless that 1 person is ridiculously tough, of course...

Anyways, to sum it all up, I think it would be interesting to do a simple bounty hunter quest where the bounty is actually a living, breathing PC...Any takers?

What I could've done is complete a contract on some crime boss's right hand man's life or something to that effect. That would be reason enough to have a decent sum hanging over my head.

Good deal. So now I pose a question to both of you: Do you want to wait a little while to see how much interest we get in making this a team affair, or do you want to launch right into things?

Of course, Madison doesn't get to have anyone on her team, but all input is appreciated.

Hm, if you'd like to have a thief/rogue type along on any side, Liquid will be looking for work as soon as she's approved. She's not an up front melee fighter but I wager she'd make a decent tracker for whoever can make the best offer.

I'll probably work on the opening post tonight, possibly contact a few of you on AIM to confirm that you're all still interested, and then get this show underway.

Once the initial post is up, everyone is welcome to post at their own leisure. Posting order won't be strictly enforced, but I'd like to see the two independently operating teams try to stay relatively level in activity, and of course a lot of action will rely on Madison posting as we close in.

Wow the teams seem lopsided. It isn't as though Camella doesn't have a bounty on her head if you want to move her to the hunted side to even the teams out a bit.

I think the idea is two teams of hunters going after one bounty.

I suppose, but I thought I'd bring up the option. Besides, that still makes it 4 against 1, just the four are against each other as well.

Well, unless I'm wrong this is a hunt, not a free for all battle. In the case of hunt, having a smaller group is sometimes an advantage.

Good point. but overall it's up to Bloodrose. If he decides I'ma hunter, I'm a hunter, and my bounty just won't be known.

LI is correct on both counts. Considering that there will be two teams, and that neither team will likely be eager to split any reward money 4 ways, I don't think Madison will be to hard off.

Plus, the general idea is to focus on the hunt, rather than battling between the hunters and the hunted.

Ok. Well, I'll stick to being a hunter, then. Probably for the better anyway as far as simplicity is concerned.

May I ask the continent this takes place on? Kinda important. I'll participate no matter what the answer is, but depending on the continent, Camella may have to tread carefully.

Alrighty, I'm working on the intro post now, so expect it up later tonight or early tomorrow (assuming I don't get distracted).

The teams will be as follows:

Team Prey: Madison Freebird

Team A: Teric Bloodrose & Nienna Ar'fiel

Team B: Christopher Knighton & Camella

Christoph gets to be captain of Team B since he volunteered as the opposing bounty hunter first, but how the teams decide to work together is entirely up to them. Also, since no one said anything (not that I really asked either) about character conflicts that would prevent them from working together, I just flipped a coin to decide where Camella and Liquid would end up.

If the teams as listed pose any problems for anyone, now would be the time to address said problems.

No team problems, but could place could be an issue. Easily overcome issue, but still important to know in advance. Only problem would be Fallien, everyone in Fallien knows her bounty, but Invisibility will get me past that issue. Sorry to only bring up this issue now. Didn't think of it until recently.
