Name: Madij Abarrik
Age: 35
Race: Goblin
Hair Color: None
Eye Color: Yellow
Height: 4"7
Weight: 114
Occupation: Mage
Personality: Madij has been known by many of the Yzæk as a reckless, brilliant lunatic that heads the R&D department of their order. Upon swearing his oath when he was inducted into the Yzæk Cabal, a very sacred initation ritual in which the inductee is given their first augmentations towards the skills they will use to benefit the order, had tested his augmentations on a group of unluck Tzalak* hosts which immediately turned against the crowd of onlookers. The wily fellow to this day remains in his office, a famous recluse amongst his peers, tinkering about with various bouts of genius.
Appearance: As premier of R&D of the cabal, Madij had to waive his right upon his own mind and body and went under a very erratic and dangerous procedure, the cabal had managed to fuse the goblin's mind and body with experimental augmentations and pieces of his protieges. With a fishbowl-like dome bolted to his head, the mad scientist's would-be brain swims about, as if alive, as a symbol of his dedication and gratitude to the Yzæk. Under most lights, the skin of the goblin looks to be a bluish-green tint, due to the massive exposure to his own experiments', the veins continuing to pulse with life.
If one were to pay close attention to the chest of this lunatic they would notice the green, pugnant moss that takes up a greater of his tattered robes are parted around a ever-beating, phorescent emerald green heart, a token of appretiation from the soveriegn of the Cabal that grants the reckless recluse with eternal life as long as his master wills it so. Amongst all of this Madij wouldn't mind, nor would he bother to notice, his watchful, feral yellow eyes catching your gaze, observing you at your fullest.
History: Under the bustling capital of Alerar, Ettermire, inside the span of long forgotten aqueducts that pulse through the cities, dubbed to the denizens as "Umndr Dar", roughly translated into the common tongue as "Under There", lies the citadel of the Yzæk Cabal, whose sworn duty is to help give nature and evolution the edge against the common man and the reckless urbanization of the world of Althanas. Little is known of Madij by the public or his fellow peers of his life leading up to the age of twenty-six, because of his lack of interest in the subject and because the cruel fellow would make inquirees subjects of his bizzare, twisted experiments.
All that was known of Madij Abarrik, through years of coaxing and an order from the Cabal's leader, was that the goblin descended from the bloodline of various tribal shaman and scholars in distant wastelands of Atlantas and had become intrigued with nature after he had met his twisted comrade, Grux, and had fought with for many a day in the wilderness until the goblin had snapped the neck of his rival with a blunted tree branch and left him for dead only to subjagate the poor creature to a twisted experiment that was a combination of alchemy and necromancy. Upon hearing of the Yzæk through a misheard conversation between in-mates in the bowels of a dungeon and had taken three years of his life to track them down.
Within the Cabal's doorstep, within the vaulted walls of their living fortress whos name was long forgotten, became subject to the traditional week-long interrogation and rigorous tests before the sovereign himself would request his presence. After showing his abilities, as all of the misunderstood syndicate did, the sovereign inducted him as a laboratory assistant to his beloved friend and boss, Polapat Frig, had expanded the young goblin's mind with various augmentations and experiments that twisted the imagination and the perception of the creature until he was appointed to his own laboratory to work side-by-side with his former boss until an alleged accident caused Polapat Frig to dissolve into a vat of living pseudo-flesh. With that history was made as Madij was the first goblin to take over the position of the department of Research & Development and the rest is history.
Skills:
Grip of The Yzæk Mk I: Armed with an experimental weapon known as "Mind-Mold" developed by the sovereign himself, Madij can slip this into an unconcious foe's ear and become linked to their conciousness temperarily. Due to the untested state of the living mold, the side effects are unknown for both conciousnesses. When both conciousnesses are ajoined, however there is a permenant struggle between minds for control which will result in the losing foe to go into a vegetable-like state for a couple of hours.
Intuition of A Madman Mk I: Madij's lunacy and expansive augmentations allows the twisted scientist to percieve the world in such a way that he has permenant foresight of four seconds into the distant future in which the goblin can see ethereal copies of events that will occur. However, as sacrifice for this gift, Madij is cursed with chronic, unpredictable spells of hallucinations, in which the goblin will briefly lose touch with reality and become vulnerable to unsuspecting attackers. There is no cure as of yet to both the visions and the hallucinations.
The Code Word Mk I: Upon installation of his augmentations, the late Polapat Frig had conducted his revenge by managing to slip in a coded phrase into a secret enchantment placed upon the goblin, which if spoken will send the goblin into a fit of chemically-induced rage, causing him to grow in size and strength. Although turning a deep shade of mauve is a curse in on itself, Madij will lose all ability of coherent thought while in his alter ego until the word is spoken twice more. Batteries are not included.
Equipment:
Five leaded vials of Mind-Mold: Although head of a laboratory, Madij is restricted to the number of experimental devices he can carry. Also, if enough Mind-Mold is present, they will automatically coagulate to the point that they will cross the structure of the vial and adhere to each other creating a new species of slime known as "Brain-Rot", toxic to all beings possessing a brain.
Vzirk: An enchanted, curved dagger that can extend its length at Madij's will into a plyable, stringy whip. Although it is virtually indestructable at high temperatures, the blade becomes brittle in a cold, tempered environment.
Alchemist's Kit: Consists of vials, beakers, fluids, rubber stoppers, and other little tools needed for the alchemist on the go.
Bag of Karbiz**: fist-sized treats covered with mold and bacteria that looks utterly unappetizing to the common person but a delicacy to Madij's protector: Grux. If Grux is not fed these every few days, the telepathic link between Madij and his guardian is severed and will throw the beast into a fit of unsatible hunger and rage in which he will kill and feed upon every living thing until either he is fed his beloved treat or until his stomach explodes. Whichever comes first.
Breuga***-Beads: Tiny, mossy balls that could fit in the palm of your hand. Each is enchanted with a coded phrase, when spoken while grow into a patented small, mossy servant that is lousy in combat but essential to survellience and laborous tasks. Due note that if challenged, the Breuga-Men will run into each other and grow into a enormous, wailing beast solely meant to bluff the attacker into fear for further action of their master. These beings communicate by sharing a consciousness with their master.
Enchanted quill, inkwell, and scrolls of parchment: Used by Madij to vocally devise his musings, plans, or horrible poetry.
Familiars: Grux: A long established history has been put between Grux and Madij, the beast has been so mishaped and molded by his master's experiments, that any original recognition of Grux's original identity is unfound with the exception of his beady, black eyes. Standing at over ten feet tall, and over five hundred pounds, the creature known as Grux is bulked with muscle, endless augmentations, and greeny moss features. The tree-trunk limbs of the monstrosity are covered in scales and feathers while the chest, waist, shoulders, and back are covered with thick, matted fur. Although reanimated to serve Madij as a slave, there is a hint of Grux's former self within his scaly face with his ever burning, black coals for eyes. Unable to speak coherently because of his master removing most of the oral part of his brain, Grux still speaks in his own undiscernable tongue and has the personality of a child.
Carrying an enchanted cludgel torn from the Usagig**** Tree at the center of the Ysæk fortress, the lizard-like branch thrives with life and can extend itself into any shape, Grux favors it solely for crushing his victims under his weight. Although no more history passes through Madij's lips, countless stories of adventures with his master lie locked away in Grux's mind.
