The purple, orange streaked sky bled a vibrant, soft yellow as dawn broke and the sun crested over the rolling hills outside the city of Radasanth. Birds began to chirp and morning dew glazed the cobbled roads as another day in Corone came to pass. Saxon yawned as he strolled through the silent market square as his mind churned and coalesced like a storm, sparking ideas and connecting thoughts together at an abnormal pace. Gazing across the empty stalls that sat throughout the Bazaar, the eldritch knew it'd be a couple hours before the city got into the swing of things.

And he liked it that way.

Syvriak, his serpentine staff, writhed in his right hand as he ambled around looking for what he sought after. Smouldering azure eyes probed every nook and cranny of the soft ambience around the square, unable to make up his mind at the few bits and pieces that were displayed behind the safety of thick, paned glass. Normally, the weird wouldn't have considered going to the bazaar where so many people flocked and frequented to, but with the Gisela only days away, he had an inkling that it'd be wise to come better repaired than last time.

Perhaps a spear, Saxon thought, Something with a longer reach. Continuing to amble and weave his way past huts and stalls, he gazed at what little weaponry they had on display, and nothing seemed to spring out at him with any particularly interesting qualities.

Pulling up the thick, leathery canvas that covered the front of her shop, an ancient, hunchbacked woman hobbled into her stall and began to set things out for the day to come. Shock and awe rippled on his face as he saw a Colt Navy Revolver sitting on display within one of the cases she sat on the counter. Only once he read the price that the eldritch turned away and began to grumble.

" This is gonna be harder than I thought."

(I'd like to get this done ASAP before the 24th rolls around. Thanks!)

Sellings noticed that the man who had entered into his shop had a discerning taste in items. Anyone who went straight for a revolver knew quality weapons, at least on a base level. He didn't know whether this man had the money to afford that kind of merchandise, but even so, he decided to mention his prize posession.

"If you are interested in rare and sophisticated weaponry, the Bhidyate, the delyn buster sword formerly owned by Dan Lagh'ratham, is among the weapons in my shop," Sellings said. "But if that's out of your price range, what can I help you with?"

Hearing the sound of Sellings voice, Saxon turned and made a bee line for his shop. The sound of some big, lunking sword belonging to somebody he didn't know wasn't what appelaed to the eldritch. It was the prospect that he could've had more, and with the pocket change the weird had, he wasn't going to be able to pay for the bulk of it, but.. perhaps..

Making it to the counter where the older gentleman stood with a dashing smile on his face, Saxon poked his akubra up to show his fierce, blue eyes that seemed to soften at the sight of another person. Leaning on the counter, the weird nodded towards the back," What have you got in the way of merchandise that would help a thief or somebody looking for a longer reach?"

Many bazaar merchants would have paused at the idea of selling to a thief, but not Sellings. He knew to give the thieves discounts. No one stole from the places that laundered their money. "Well, if you're looking for some kind of net or extended claw, we have both of those," Sellings began. Just because he was willing to sell to thieves didn't mean he knew the tricks of the trade. "Or do you want something that you can project out farther in one of those knife fights you thieves are always getting yourselves into?"

Saxon didn't find either of those at all useful for where he was about to go, but it did get him thinking. The weird wouldn't be able to fight like a usual combatant so he'd have to improvise, and the only way for him to do that was to fight dirty. Looking down at the display case that sat between him, he casually looked back up at Sellings and smiled," Theres something we can barter on, after all. I'd like those."

Watching the propetier slowly follow his finger, he pointed towards the small, black polished handle that sat amongst another knife that looked to be three seperate parts put all together. Each was labeled clearly and distinctly in the sort of tradespeak anybody who walked around in Corone could understand," The switchblade, butterfly knife, and four hits of that vanishing powder stuff you've got right there."

It wasn't much, but if the eldritch had to fight in close quarters, he wanted the surprise to be on his side. Pausing for a moment, Saxon's eyes lit up as he realized something," Could that switchblade be made springloaded?"

"Anything can be made with time and effort," George B. Sellings replied. "And of the average quality that we make things, your switchblade and butterfly knife are twenty each in steel- twenty extra for the springs, and it'll be 120 for the vanishing powder you requested."

He was surprised that he remembered how much vanishing powder had cost. It was somewhat of a menace to have in the store, too many customers who didn't know what they were doing seemed to want to, for lack of a better term, try it out. Now, Sellings would only display it once all other purchases were made.

"Just remember, this is the kind of shop that sells vanishing powder to thieves when you consider where you want to use it," Sellings warned, hoping that his customer would get the implication.

Hearing the words of warning the merchant said with a stern look on his face, Saxon smirked. He knew well enough that such a display wasn't something he would've liked to have witnessed nor participated in unless the time was right. Pulling a small leathery pouch from his pin-striped jacket, the weird held it gingerly in his hand as he weighed the need for the objects he was about to purchase.

It only took a momentary glance at the awaiting proprietor for the eldritch to give a small shrug. Even if he hadn't need of it in the Gisela, there was certainly a time and place for a diversion and sharp steel to go into somebody's gut. Not like I can keep choking them with Syvriak forever, he thought pragmatically before the staff coiled threateningly at the accusation.

Putting down the pouch in whole, Saxon gave a soft smile as he looked at the man," Ring it up, and keep any extra twenty for yourself, Mister..?"

"Now thats quite kind of you," Sellings said. He reached behind his counter and put everything that the weird had requested save for the spring loaded switchblade. After a call to the back, that was delivered, surprisingly still hot from the forge.

"Enjoy..." the merchant said. "If anything isn't up to your satisfaction, let me know..."

Saxon put the small packets of vanishing powder in the inside pocket hidden in his jacket, each melting in the pocket and were completely forgotten as the weird admired the craftsman ship of his new blades. Depositing the switchblade in another pocket, he picked up the Butterfly and smiled," Thank you very much, sir, have a nice day."

Stepping away from the counter as he collected his leather pouch, the eldritch gave one last smile and turned away towards the way he had come. Flipping the blunt end of the blade against his knuckles, he stopped and gave a small wince," Something to keep me busy at least," he mumbled as he gave it another try and chuckled as he sauntered out of bazaar.

It wouldn't be long before he put these tricks to use, and the only question in Saxon's mind was whether or not he'd be able to master the alluring, exotic dance of the blade before that time had come.

(Saxon gains a steel butterfly knife, a steel spring loaded switchblade, 4 doses of vanishing powder that creates a cloud of smoke for him to vanish from and 100 EXP. He loses 180 GP)
