Lady Brighe Aergad (Bree AH ehr gahd )
Human
24
5'9”
135 lbs
hair: Strawberry Blonde
Eyes: forest green
Skin: lightly tanned
Appearance:
Brighe has mid back long Strawberry Blonde hair that is slightly curly. Her emerald eyes shimmer with hope in even the darkest of moments. Her body is toned from both the consistent wearing of her armor as well as the rather physical demands of knighthood. Her usual attire consists of a tight black shirt and fairly loose black skirt as under clothes, which keep the cheap iron chain mail sleeves and skirt from chaffing. Over which she wears a form fitting polished steel breast piece that has polished brass accents. Her shoulders, arms and hands are covered with the same steel armor as her torso, the chain mail simply there for the gaps in it all. From her waist down she has a special plate set up of six plates, one in the front that is shaped so that if she sits, its not uncomfortable, two thigh plates that are almost long enough to reach a mere couple inches from her knees, which overlap two more plates that cover her butt, which overlap a single one in the middle designed to protect her tail bone and cover the gaps. From under those plates flows a long white wrap skirt that meets right in the middle of her front and is detailed along the edge with blue details. As for her legs, she only wears shin guards and steel plated leather boots. Around her neck always hangs a long white scarf with blue details. On the occasions where donning her armor is unwelcome, she keeps with her a few finer dresses of conservative design.
Jewelery:
Brighe wears a single silver heart shaped locket around her neck that has pictures of her parents in it.
Personality:
Hopeful, chivalrous and to an extent too trustworthy are just the most notable. She has an honest streak that lacks tact and a good deal of tomboy that sometimes gets her in trouble.
Weapons:
One steel two handed longsword
One steel dirk
Armor:
Forged steel field armor
Iron chain mail shirt
Equipment and Misc:
One white horse with saddle and compliments (named Taldor)
One set of saddle bags
One set of blacksmithing tools
One set replacement parts for her armor
One sewing kit
Skills:
Basic equestrian training: Brighe is a capable rider so long as her horse is trustworthy.
Blacksmithing: She is just out of apprenticeship as a blacksmith, being focused mostly on armor, weapons and horseshoes.
Basic weapons training: being a knight, she spends a fair amount of time honing her skills in swords, knives, axes, jousting and the occasional picking up other weapons of war. Though due to this broad range of weapons, she has yet to master any of them.
History:
Many great things have come out of the icy mountains of Salvar. One of which is the hopeful and beautiful daughter of Sir Gwen Aergad. In the small village of Kurzweil there wasn't very much for the daughter of a retried knight to do but be courted by the young lads and sew with the other lasses. A strong will of a chivalrous lass could only but be grateful for the understanding of her parents, her father having no male heir, nor no boy to teach his life's work to. When she was barely old enough to walk, Brighe showed what the future would hold for her. Childhood playing knights with the boys as rough as any of them as well as the hours of fascination with the fire and steel of her uncle's forge.
Brighe was easily known as the tomboy of the village, yet with it she was no outcast, simply Aergad's daughter. She had heard that a few times but never understood it till one day her father told her of his tale. Of how he, a young boy of but twelve had left home one morn and traveled far to learn chivalry from a knight of his childhood fantasy. Luckily such times were that way when he was young. He had traveled many a land with the knights of Salvar and seen many a thing, all which had filled Brighe's head and made her heart burn for the outside world. When she was old enough, they traveled the same road that he had so many ages ago to the city of Knife's Edge, where she proved her skills and pledged her loyalty to the crown.
She returned home no longer a girl, but a lady of the crown. A sword of justice and mercy of Salvar.
Saddness filled the Aergad hearts when word of the civil war reached their small village. Her father had long given up his sword in retirement when the call came for knights, so only one rode down that known road. Her heart found pain at the sights she beheld, a king cruel and a church destroying its flock. With now known way, she turned her back. Home was but a short stop for words and tears. The dreams of the Aergads seemed lost as there was no right in any of it. With but only one choice left Brighe left home and left the snowy peaks of Salvar with hopes of finding some way to bring peace to her country.
