Given Name: Murdoch Michael Natravil
Pseudonyms: Muds
Race: Immortal/Infected
Gender: Male
Age: Biologically and Eternally 27
Height: 6’3
Weight: Slightly underweight
Hair Colour: Dark brown
Eye Colour: Grey

Appearance: Murdoch is a naturally striking man. Tall and lean, despite being slightly underweight, Murdoch’s body is appealing and his face more so. He has the look of a masculine model, with lightly tanned skin that’s smooth and without blemish. His hair is dark brown and wild, falling to his shoulders in a messy disarray for Murdoch can’t ever be bothered to tame it. His eyes are of a steely grey and are the key to understanding him for Murdoch can’t keep his emotions from flickering there. He cannot lie with his eyes. Murdoch's movements are fluid and precise, without being robotic, and his stride is far more confident than Murdoch himself. However, despite the man’s natural beauty and grace, it is his wild sense of style that tends to catch attention. Murdoch dresses like a punk – there is no other word for it – and donning glass jewellery and haphazardly torn garments, Murdoch is bound to leave an impression.

Personality: Fully aware that he should have died well over half a century ago, Murdoch is left living a life that has no place in the world. To begin with, he clung to the remnants of his past but as the scientist Alaric Frey withered and died, Murdoch came to realise that his life was as over as it got. But still, Murdoch cannot let go. He clings to the mansion, the massive House of Gears and is extremely loyal to both it and the Frey bloodline. In the preservation of both these things, Murdoch has found some semblance of meaning to his continued existence. He no longer lives for himself and is remarkably weak willed and indecisive when it comes to choices that aren’t based on a Frey’s wishes or wellbeing. He finds it difficult to voice his feelings and even harder to relate to people. As such, he has few friendships, though those few that are able to call themselves Murdoch’s friends are people he values greatly. They see the unguarded Murdoch; a bright and witty artist who’s cynical and pessimistic yet has so much to offer the world.

Weaponry: None

Armour: None

Passive Abilities:

Immortality – Murdoch’s body is essentially indestructible. It isn’t affected by age or disease and there are no known ways of inflicting permanent damage, let alone actually destroying it. It doesn’t matter if he’s burnt to cinders, mutilated beyond all recognition or ground to dust, Murdoch’s body will always remake itself. Unfortunately, this is as far as his immortality stretches and Murdoch remains just as susceptible to agony and injury as any normal mortal for whilst the extent of what can be healed is limitless, the speed at which this regeneration occurs is currently identical to that of a normal human and just as unmerciful when it comes to pain.

Superhuman Speed, Strength and Endurance – When the disease was forcibly mutated inside Murdoch, its effects were reversed and instead of decaying the body, it enhanced it. Now, Murdoch's bones are stronger, his muscles tougher, his tolerance for pain is exceptional; far beyond the realms of his past incarnation and as time goes on, Murdoch’s body will only get more and more powerful. At this stage, Murdoch has the speed, strength and endurance one and a half times what he had as a human.

Blue Blood – Murdoch’s blood has a very interesting taint to it and if another were to drink, or inject it into their system, it would override everything. It would render them immortal and give them strength but it would take away everything else. For example, if a vampire were to consume Murdoch’s blood, they would no longer be a vampire, the same for werewolves and many other creatures. The disease, even in its reversed form, takes over everything.

Offensive Abilities:

Glass Manipulation – Murdoch’s only natural ability allows him to bend, break, reshape and telekinetically control items of glass. At this level, Murdoch can take control of all glass within a ten foot radius and reshape it into various projectiles and edged weapons for combat. Sadly, Murdoch isn’t yet able to alter the density of this glass and thus, his makeshift weapons are easily shattered or deflected by those with decent skills in blocking and evasion. Generally, Murdoch uses this ability for the amusement of himself and those he’s close to, forging items like pretty models and jewellery.

History:(The details of various events from Murdoch’s life, including the 32 years when he was alone in the mansion, have been omitted for the reason that, at this point, to tell of such things would give far too much away)

Two scientists, having grown up together in the same, small village, had shared the joys of life, knowledge and love and as their families lay dying from an incurable disease, it seemed as though they would also share tragedy. In their despair, they turned to the one thing that still held promise, the one thing that still gave them hope; their science and with the intent of saving their wives and sons, they began Project SERENADE. The objective was simple; to find a cure, but nothing worth having in life ever comes easy and the two men knew that to achieve their aim, they would need to do great, terrible things.

Without the heart to harm their loved ones, the two men turned to the villagers and selected their test subjects, choosing those least likely to be missed – the young woman who’d just come into town, the little boy who was the middle child of seventeen, the middle aged couple who never came out of their house – and abducting them when the opportunity arose. They infected their subjects with the disease and began to experiment with the limited knowledge they had on the illness.

At first, the results were disappointing, even disheartening and surprisingly, it was Alaric Frey, the engineer and not the bioengineer, who made the inevitable breakthrough but at the time, it did not seem this way. After the passing of his wife, Erica, the night before, Alaric was understandably distracted and when mixing a standard concoction, he made a simple, honest mistake and gave it the flawed solution to the test subject, the young woman. Horribly, Alaric’s mixture seemed to fuel the disease, enabling it to spread from the blood, to the organs, to the muscles and finally the bones. The disease took everything and wracked the woman with pain and new, horrific symptoms but she did not die. Not after a day, or even a week passed.

Alaric and his partner, Michael Natravil, were delighted but they couldn’t help their families with such a mixture. Subjecting them to the nightmarish standard of living that they had brought upon the woman would never be an option and even when Lorraine, Michael’s beloved, worsened and died, the two scientists managed to stop themselves from subjecting their infected sons to such treatment.

Project SERENADE became a race against time, the two men frantically trying new things on all their subjects and eventually the solution came to them in the form of the most basic test tube experiment. Michael had managed to mix something in to Alaric’s amplifying solution that had turned it bright blue and reversed the effects of the disease. It had been a long time coming, but this was what they had been waiting for: Project SERENADE was complete. They had not managed to cure the disease, but turn it into something new, something far more potent and dangerous. For although they did not realise it at the time, Alaric Frey and Michael Natravil had created the elixir of life.

So Alexius Frey and Murdoch Natravil were given immortality. They stopped aging, lost the need for food and sleep and inside, their major organs, muscles and blood turned various shades of turquoise blue.

It was merely a matter of time before they were discovered.

One day, in the year CP 1749/1949 DW, Alexius was in the village and by chance, he happened to slip and slice his arm. In a large city, this might not have been so much of a problem but in a small village, where everyone is human and everyone knows everyone, blue blood stands out and Alexius was literally chased back to his father’s mansion. The next time he ventured cautiously from the house, he disappeared. It was then that Michael took Alaric’s younger, uninfected son and fled to Radasanth, leaving Murdoch with Alaric, unable to venture from the house for fear of being discovered by the things that captured his friend.

Murdoch was grateful to Alaric for allowing him to stay and spent most of his time with the aging man, who had now fallen sick himself and was beginning to wither. Sadly, Murdoch wasn’t able to cure Alaric in time and the old man died in his sleep. Murdoch dismissed the few servants that had remained after the Alexius ordeal and stayed on in the mansion, alone.

Thirty-two years passed before anyone came and then, one bright, spring morning, a young man and his heavily pregnant wife turned up on the doorstep. It took them three days before they found Murdoch, lounging in one of the chairs in the library, and as soon as they lay eyes on him, the young man demanded an explanation for Murdoch being on their property. Murdoch had laughed then and told them that he was a part of the property and if they owned the property, then they owned Murdoch too, for he would never leave. This flattered the man’s ego and he let Murdoch stay and stay he has, until this day, on which the owner, Trennen Frey has just passed away of a sickness…

Interesting, but a little too strong... I'm going to try and let you stay in the spirit of what I think you had in mind, but you need to be toned down a bit.

For the enhanced characteristics, I'd like them lowered to 1.5x what a regular human would possess. Even that much is a pretty big advantage in literal terms.

For immortality, is there still a way for Murdoch to be incapacitated, like knocked out? I imagine that since he still feels pain and such that he is succeptable to unconsciousness, but I'd just like to make sure.

Edited the Enhanced thing and yeah, Murdoch can be knocked out etc. He heals but he heals slowly, so if he was so break his arm, he wouldn't be able to use it for about six weeks.

I figured that, just needed to clarify.

Approved!
