Appearance:
Chuck is a pretty normal looking human. he is 5'9 and 143 lbs. he is in decent physical shape, but not excepional. his brown hair is kind of shaggy, but not too long. it flops around a bit but isn't long enough to get in his eyes, which are dark blue. he has a happy face, and generally a pretty happy demeanor. he looks like a nice guy, and he is. he wears a green vest and no shirt. so you know, part of his chest and stuff is exposed and he wears light brown pants that aren't too tight. (think aladdin i guess with pants not quite so poofy). Chuck's shoes are fairly standard. comfy and good for walking/running around. he also has a small backpack and a weird looking stick, but i'll get into that stuff with equipment later.
Personality:
Chuck is a nice person. he is generally happy and friendly. unfortunatly for chuck he does have a bit of a mouth on him, which he tries to keep in check most of the time. Chuck looks and acts like a happy carefree young guy, and for the most part he is. but he can get angry if pushed alot, and he is quite determined to reach his goals with his life. ever since getting kicked out of school he's really got something to prove. so he's out there, giving his all. he doesn't quit and he doesn't give up, ever.
History:
Chuck was born into a wealthy family, as the middle of 3 children, and the only boy. Chuck has always known what he wanted to be. his entire life he has always wanted to be a wizard. his family on the other hand, wasn't incredibly fond of this ambition. both his parents urged him away from this path. him being the only boy, and their family having a high reputation, and even higher opinion of themselves. his father always pushed him towards more boyish, manly things. he always forced him to go play with the other boys. to run around and play their sports and games. his mother was the same way, urging him away from "silly wizardry" to more typical paths. his sisters would always make fun of him aswell. but nothing could dampen his spirits. he knew what he wanted to do with his life so his family was forced to support him. so at the age of 17 chuck started practising basic magic tricks. simple things in the vein of any magicians parlour tricks. so for 3 years he practiced being a magician, thinking this was a great way to start on his road to being a wizard. the problem was that chuck simply wasn't very good. he didn't have "the magic in him" as some would say. after 3 years of hard work all he could really do was shuffle and do a simple "is this your card trick" and of course guess your weight.
chuck was just plain untalented. but he didn't know this and still doesnt today.
so after those three more or less wasted years he applied to the Wizards School of Magical Wizarding at the age of 20. Thanks to his parents large donations Chuck was accepted to the school despite the fact that he had no magical talent.
In school Chuck worked the hardest he ever had. for 3 years he buckled down and gave it his all. this was his dream, he was on his way to being a full fledged wizard and nothing could stop him. or so he thought. he just wasn't any good. and no amount of work could change this. he fell behind his peers in school and couldn't cast any spells right. his fireballs always came out as snowballs. and when he tryed to cast magic missle, he really only succeeded in turning his hand into a sparkler for a few seconds. and so after those three years of work the Wizards School of Magical Wizarding kicked him out. stating that he just plain stank, and would never be a wizard.
so Chuck left. school had abandoned him, his family was discraced, they wanted nothing to do with him. so now Chuck wanders the world. looking for a way to prove to everyone that hes an awesome wizard. just like he said he would always be.
Equipment:
clothes. a simple green vest.
light pants with pockets.
shoes.
he does have a small backpack to throw stuff in.
and he always keeps a few decks of card on him. in case he needs to show off his one trick.
he also carries a piece of yew driftwood. which he calls a staff. but really its just a 3 foot long funny looking stick. he doesn't need it to cast spells or anything, he just likes the idea of having a staff.
Physical Skills:
Chuck's strength is that of a normal human who is in decent physical shape. he is pretty quick and has good reflexes but nothing even close to outside average human range. he could punch or kick you, but hes not particularly skilled at this. only within the range of a normal unschooled person. he could swing his stick....er....staff at you. he is in decent shape, and he used to have to play sports with the other boys so he might have some success with this. after all, a stick to the face is a stick to the face.
unfortunatly for chuck he can be clumsy sometimes. but he is oddly lucky and doesnt tend to hurt himself too badly on his occaisonal face plants.
"Magic Trick" Skills:
if you can even call them skills.
Card Trick(s)-- he usually carries a few decks of cards with him so he can show off his fancy shuffling. and ability to "pick your card" seemingly out of the middle of the deck.
Guess Your Weight-- pretty much as it sounds. he can guess how much you weigh with about 95% accuracy.
*obviously these skills are of limited use and really just to amuse.
Spells:
Snow Ball-- everytime Chuck tries to cast a fireball. all he gets is a snowball. just a plain old snowball. it forms in his hand and he has to throw it. its pretty hard, but its still just snow, in a ball the size a softball. so it doesn't really do too much damage. other than being annoying and cold and kind of hard. Chuck has a pretty good arm from all those days of youth. he can throw it the distance a normal person could throw a normal snowball (so i don't know, like 10-15 feet) and he really only has decent aim up to 10 feet. he can create 5 snowballs in a day.
Razzle Dazzle-- when Chuck really wants to go all out, he tries to cast magic missle. but he just has no talent, so all he succeeds in doing is causing a spray of sparks to come from his palm(s) for about 5 seconds. the sparks are just sparks. and they spray out from concentrated spot in the center of his palm but spread out (like a can of spray paint would) for a range roughly 2 feet. the stream is quite concentrated close to his hand (at less then 1 foot) but beyond one foot they are pretty spread out. and after 2 feet they pretty much just dissipate. chuck can spray the sparks from one or both hands, whatever he chooses. create the "razzle dazzle" twice a day.
*chuck does not need his staff to cast either of these spells, nor does he need to complete a phrase aloud. but a snowball takes a second to form in his hand and he has to get his hand(s) out and palms open to cast razzle dazzle
