View Full Version : This is like... important--to me at least

It's been a long time since I last RPed with any like, serious intent. I've never ever given Althanas a real chance. I'm here to give it a real chance and I want to be a part of the community. I think this is like.. the best way to start.

Anyway, to initiative a big deal for my character I need to be able to guarantee a citadel thread I start can be finished. It's an integral part, in fact, it is the beginning and therefore the most integral part to my character's entire storyline. I would be serious business indebted to anybody who could help me by providing a good opponent and regular posting and stuff. I really don't want this thread to just slip off the top page with no response...

In terms of what it's about, it's just a citadel match really, not that consequential to start with. It's just like, a way of IC stimulating a thought for my character. It's set at a contemporary train station.

I just need the one person!

But yeah, thanks in advance for any responses. You're making a good friend if you can help me with this.

thread here yo (http://www.althanas.com/world/showthread.php?p=108451#post108451)

Hahaha, if you ever want to battle someone your own level, I'd be willing.

Didn't see that :-( Sorry Skie & Avery!

Lol. Manda knows I love her, so I can say this...

And if you ever want to battle someone good, let me know! ;-)

Luv ya manda!

And I'm only kidding. Good to you, Woshington, on this one. Your char rocks and the concept rocks even more, but you do need to get some hard-earned rping in with him to really find that niche you're kinda toying with.

=)

EDIT: Actually, I forgot to say this, but Manda IS better than me, and is probably the best person for this role! Go Manda!

I hope you two get a JC out of your battle, that'd rock!

Judge's Choice, correct? How does one get that distinction?

The general rule of thumb is that threads scoring an 80 or better are nominated to be JC's.

Most quests that score over an 80 get JC status. I can't think of one that hasn't, but then it must be voted into the JC forum by a majority of moderators, too.

Yes, nominated, but it's not "Judge's" Choice for nothing. High quality writing and style and a good storyline really can be rewarding, but a JC is typically the best of the best.

I have no doubt after reading Woshington's work in the Clan War, and knowing Manda's abilities in general, that these two could do it if they put their minds to it and really try.

:-) Seriously, good luck to you both. You're both AWESOME writers and Althanas is lucky to have you two around!

I hate to bump like a finished thread, but I'm seriously humbled. I hadn't noticed this. I dunno what to say other than thanks man, I kinda felt like maybe I was messing up in the CW.. maybe since your kind compliments I have gone on to mess up; with an epic over the top manoeuvre and a bit of a rushed and disjointed final post. I'm not sure it made sense.

But anyway. I dunno, lol. But thanks Logan man! You're completely right about needing to find the niche though, like I feel like I'm still struggling to get into Woshington properly, like getting who he is down completely... Bloodrose said the same kinda thing, like about how it takes a while to get comfortable in a char's skin. Like Wosh has changed a bit from how I described him in the initial profile and I'm gonna rework that when I get to 1 because I'll be there messing with it anyway.

But yeah, this isn't the the memememememme show, it's an epic honour to RP with Manda and like, it's SLOW GOING (thanks a lot Manda >_<) but you know, she's dead busy.. understandably. But I'd rather it be done slow and right and stuff.

Yep. Exactly. Slow can be good more times than not because it allows you time to review your posts and make sure you are getting to emotion, intensity, and style across that you want to elicit from the reader.

Things in a post/thread that evoke those are going to take a simple score and raise it up a few notches to something closer to awesome. Writing with some over-dramatics can be good and bad, and Woshington, I honestly did not feel your maneuver was too over the top, just maybe highly overdone (there is a difference). Overall, the last post you did was fine, and I can't wait until this clan war is over, that's for sure.
