[Tsukiko]

Tsukiko walked into the store. It was a strange shop in a strange land where the people were a bit smaller than her home and had more energy and there was even a talking lizard. The vixen had come for it was the best place to get enchantments if you didn’t mind doing much of the work yourself.

Tsukiko was following in her mother’s foot steps but it wasn’t easy and she needed better gear. In fact Tsu wanted something special and magical for her journeys and adventures. She wanted equipment that would make any fighter green with envy and she wanted some more tricks. One important thing was armor. Magic armor was rare and Tsu couldn’t afford or find any so she needed to come here.

The vixen walked through the doors with a smile and her ears perked up. “Um hello?” She was a bit shy and nervous. She had no clue who she was dealing with. I heard this shop makes sorcerous equipment if you provide the materials.” She stood still for a few moments. “Do you think you can help me?”

The shop was eerily quiet, as if there was no other person within it than the woman who had currently entered. Small little crystals decorated the walls, the shelves and the bookcases, casting a light blue glow throughout the entire place and provided the only source of illumination. Heavy purple curtains covering the windows kept them from allowing any other source of light in and the dark wood everything seemed to be constructed from was not helping the decor. Nor were the bottles and jars of various and strange looking things, both behind the large counter and around the walls. Feet, teeth what might have been a brain or a heart and a few other odd assortments, like oddly coloured sand that seemed t shift and change with every new angle.

After the words left by the woman hung in the air for a few moments, movement could be heard. It wasn’t coming from anywhere around the young Kitsune though, it was coming from another heavy curtain behind the counter, one that seemed to divide the shop into two separate rooms. The sound of something shifting and then banging echoed out from behind it, followed by a high voice that may or may not having been cursing. And finally, out stumbled the figure of one 5 foot nothing Fae, covered in a green dress with locks of firey red hair slipping down passed her bare shoulders and covering the tops of her wings. Wings that were currently fluttering with a bit of agitation.

Finally, after regaining her footing, the small Fae turned around and locked her golden eyes on the woman before her.

“Ooh! Another kitty person!”

She ran over to the other side of the counter to inspect the girl. Her curious eyes were roaming over her orange hair and her cute little eats and her tail. Keeping her hands firmly fisted at her sides, Lasair definitely tried her best not to reach out and touch the girl’s ears, but really, it was a losing battle and it would only be a matter of time in the end.

“So what can I help you with?” She asked, her eyes still glancing over the girl.

Tsukiko was rather surprised to see an energetic woman come out of the back. Tsu found herself smiling with relief as she studied the woman’s form. She was slightly shorter than the vixen and had a slighter body as well. Still, the woman was very pretty even though lacking a tail.

“Oh I’m of fox blood, not a cat.” Tsu couldn’t help but to correct the woman. The vixen smiled and bowed in an apology and then again. “I’m Doji Tsukiko, pleased to meet you.” The fox ears perked up as she thought about how the woman could help her.

“Well I came here for some magical stuff. Well right now just seeing if you could make some custom gear. Well just see if you can and what stuff I need to gather to make them.”

The kitsune leaned against the wall and nibbled her pinky in thought as she tried to think of what she wanted made. After a few moments a pop of fox fire signaled an idea

“The first one is simple, a quiver that has unlimited arrows. Or at least produce arrows so I don’t have to visit a fletcher all the time.” Tsu started to wag her tail a bit more. “The second is a do-maru armor like the one I wear that would give off magnetic force that would make me harder to hit.” The girl wondered if she could ask for anything more. “And third is well . . . ” She blushed a little bit. “A swim suit that would allow me to breathe underwater and give me greater mobility underwater as well.” The vixen wagged her tail a bit more.

“That’s not too much, is it?”

“Hmm, it’s a lot!” Lasair said to her, still rather cheerfully, “But it’s not too much. It all just depends on whether or not you can acquire the ingredients.”

With the prospect of synthesizing overrunning the prospect of playing with the fox—not cat—girl’s ears, Lasair quickly moved into her back room, only to appear a moment later with two tomes in her hands. The items she wanted enchanted seemed simple enough to her, but there would probably be a lot of little things involved in gathering them.

Grabbing a blank sheet of parchment and a quill, the small Fae opened up the first book and began leafing through it, her eyes moving just as fast as her hand as she began writing down the ingredients.

“Oh, very important question... do you have the items you wish for me to enchant, or are these being made from scratch?”

The Fae rather hoped she already had the items; it would make her search that much easier. Not to mention the synthesizing process was easier with something already given a mould to work with. But, if that was not the case, she was not going to complain.

[Tsukiko]

Tsukiko watched in awe as the fae girl did her research. It seemed like she was doing in minutes what a group of scribes would take months to do. “Wow you must be good at that.” The fox girl wagged her tail as she watched the excited woman research the needed ingredients. But despite her skill she hit a small road block and asked if Tsu had the items.

“Ummm sadly I don’t have the items on me. I might be able to get them if that would make it easier. I’m getting a Damascus do-maru armor made for me if it helps but sadly I don’t have a quiver that is good enough quality or a swim suit at all.” Tsu wished it would be easier but still part of the job was to get high quality items as well and she wasn’t sure what would be the best material for swim suit.

“Sorry if that makes things harder.” The vixen bowed in apology as she prayed that her job wasn’t going to be too tough. No hunting for the scales of the great dragon that ruled the sea or something impossible like that.

Lasair nodded her head to the fox lady. Though having all of the necessary items for the enchantment would have certainly helped, it was not a big thing and she didn’t have much to worry about. Besides, she was getting the armour and that was the one thing she had been worried about the most. She could create armour from raw materials, but it was so much easier to just enchant it.

“It’s no problem, the armour was going to be the hardest part and since you’re already getting some made, then I have nothing to worry about!”

She quickly went back to work, the tip of her quill crossing out a few things and then writing down some more. There were clearly three categories on the page for the young lady, each one having their own separate list of ingredients that she would need in order for their completion.

When she finished with one tome though, her quickly closed it and moved on to the next, the whole process taking her less than five minutes before she finally stopped and turned to her customer once more.

“All done!” She exclaimed as she picked up the list and gave it a quick read through on her own. Then she handed over the parchment to the girl to glance over and see the things that she would need and if she needed any more help with the ingredients listed.


The Quiver

• One crystallized vortex or black hole
• Two feathers
• Two yards of leather
• Half a pound of raw steel
• One clear unblemished crystal
• Mana dust
• Three eggs of the Slisliaghri (a small snake in Luthmor)
• Three craighivar crystals (rare crystals in the Neamh Mountains that duplicate themselves)

The Armour

• Two pounds of raw, magnetized metal
• One clear unblemished crystal
• Purified water
• Two crystallized vortexes or black holes
• Ferrion leaves

The Swimsuit

• Four yards of cloth (either linen or sifan preferably)
• Three scales from a Faoi
• The roots of a Triagh tree (grows in Fiorair)
• The gills of a Maerrigh fish (in the swamps of Fiorair)
• Two deep blue crystals
• Water from the ocean
• Seaweed

[Tsukiko]

Tsu was practically giddy as she took the list in hand and looked over it. Each item’s crafting required quite the scavenger hunt but that was half the fun. Her tail wagged happily as she saw the adventures the items gave.

“Thank you.” The vixen smiled at the fae girl. “This should be fun. There’s probably a lot of possibilities for adventure here.” The kitsune pocketed the list in her kimono. “This really should be fun. I’ll be sure to get the ingredients for you.”

The vixen thought to leave but she wondered if the petit fairy girl had any wisdom to impart. “I have a pretty good idea how to get these items, do you have any tips that could be helpful?” The fox girl asked as she swished her tail ready for the adventure to start.

“Oh, of course!” Lasair said rather cheerfully.

She loved it when people asked her for more information, not only would it help them but she just liked being helpful in any kind of way possible. It was probably why she loved running this shop, it allowed her to help people on pretty much a daily basis. Even if it was in the small way of enchanting or creating items for them.

“The black holes and the vortex crystals can be found really easily in ruins, it’s just a lot of people will search really hard for it not realizing that digging a bit underneath the dirt will reveal them. The Maerrigh fish is rather small compared to other fish in Fiorair, growing to be about nine inches in length and though they’re not dangerous, they’ll easily rise to the surface to nibble at things they think are bugs, even your fingers.

“The feathers can be from any birds and there’s a cave behind the waterfall in Cearnagh Criostal that you can find many crystals in, but those rare ones won’t be there. You’ll have to search long and hard in the mountains for them, try to find a small area where there is plenty of plant life that seems oddly out of place, as the crystals allow plants to really multiply and grow. Purified water is just water safe to drink and mana dust you can get off the wings of Fae!”
She thought that covered some of the more trickier items on the list, but she wanted to make sure. “Anything else you’re unclear of?”

“No that’s fine. I think I know what I need to do.” Tsu smiled and bowed. She was happy to have the lists she needed for the items. “Thank you. I think I have some fun adventures ahead of me.” Her tail flicked and she smiled as she left the place. “I’m sure I’ll see you soon.”

Lasair waved to the young fox lady as she left her store, wishing her safe travels and plenty of good hunting ahead of her. Hopefully she would return safely and with all of the necessary items for the synthesis. Closing all of the tomes before her, the small Fae began cleaning up the area and putting the books back where she had got them so she could easily find them again for her next customer.
