APPEARANCE

Urgoz sports an appearance that is generally very typical of the Orc race, although his height is remarkably minute when compared to his more melee-oriented brethren. He still stands well above the average man, and the bulk of his muscles is nothing short of awe-inspiring, but the average Orc fighter would likely crush him in terms of strength, toughness and endurance. Still, taking into account the green hue of his skin and the pointy nails on his fingertips, his Orcish physique lends his appearance a tinge as intimidating as many of his kin’s.

In accordance with ancient Stormbreaker tradition, Urgoz has not once in his life cut his hair. Consequently, a wealth of slate strands cascade down his back, the longest reaching the ground even when he is standing upright. Even though this peculiar feature is not the most practical in combat situations, Urgoz refuses to abandon this final remnant of his Luthmorian heritage, along with the menacing mask that covers every inch of his face. It is white, with black, tribal markings adorning its surface, while the eyeholes have been tinted red - how Urgoz can see through this mask remains a mystery, but he never seems to take it off.

Urgoz’s clothing reflects his wild nature – he sees no need for armaments and prefers to be able to travel lightly and quietly when possible. Roughspun, dark fabric covers his lower body, whilst his upper body is void of any coverings, apart from several tattoos on his chest and upper arms. His lower arms are surrounded by iron bracers, the only armor that Urgoz has ever deemed practical to wear, and wisely so, for dints and bitemarks of predator attacks are abundant atop their shiny surfaces. Perhaps the most peculiar about the Orc’s appearance are the multitude of thick ropes that run around his waist and shoulders. Urgoz braided these himself from many different kinds of plant fibers and animal hair, allowing them to bear enormous weights. Still, Urgoz will not often be seen using them for climbing, for as indifferent he may be when it comes to war and death, he has never been able to get rid of his fear of heights.

PERSONALITY

Overall, Urgoz does not care much for the words ‘good’ and ‘evil’. At the base of this indifference lies a certain lack of understanding. Having lived in a situation where life and death were part of a natural cycle, and where predators were not frowned upon because of killing their prey, Urgoz has had quite some trouble understanding more obscure phenomena such as vengeance and verbal combat, that many humans seem to obsess about. Although he never feels the need to take another person’s life unless his own survival is in question, he also sees no need to save those who have the ability, but not the will to defend themselves. Those not willing to bear their toil are left behind; a simple Stormbreaker rule that Urgoz uses as a guideline to this very day.

Despite his lackadaisical approach to what some would call homicide, however, Urgoz feels very strongly about the law and those who keep it. His clan was never without an iron hierarchy of members, a clear-cut assignment of tasks and responsibilities to any who wished to participate in clan life – and through that, survive. Although he does not actively pursue the adjudication of the more shady elements of his current residence, he will not hesitate to step in and aid those who uphold order, should they ever struggle.

There are two main exceptions to this judicious zeal. Firstly, Urgoz does not have any notion of ‘stealing’ – he does not even understand the nature of the word. From his perspective, all but a person’s body and soul is common property, and as such, free to take. Secondly, laws that exist clearly to the benefit of one person or a small group of persons while leaving nothing to the masses do not fit within his view on order; in fact, he will endeavor against the ruling class and its enforcers in such a situation, because such a governing system inspires only unrest and rebellious cores – laws that do not exist to keep peace and order, are not laws worth defending.

HISTORY

Born to the verdant shade of the great Luthmor rainforest, Urgoz quickly learnt how to adapt himself to the endless wilds surrounding him. As with the other living members of the Stormbreaker tribe, survival was not as much an acquired skill to him as an inborn trait. Whether it were the hellish monsoons or the slithering predators of the underbrush that terrorized him, he proved himself a capable and spirited defender, keen on emulating the actions of the hardened veterans that defended the tribe’s grounds from the dangers of the rainforest. At the age of eleven, he first wielded a weapon. Six months later, he killed his first living creature, a gargantuan stag beetle that had chosen to be a vexation during Urgoz’s patrol – a glorious moment that, according to himself, he would never forget.

Although it seemed evident that the young Stormbreaker would follow in the wake of the clan’s greater warriors, after several years, Urgoz decided to spend less time enhancing his physical attributes and concentrate more on the mystical lore and skills that the clan’s shamans could convey. The legends of how their people had come to exist in Dheathain and the myth-riddled history of the Stormbreaker clan fascinated him beyond the thrill that a steel edge and blood could bring. He quickly put his mind to learning how to read and write, and though quality material was scarce and the time and effort required often detracted him from the more physical aspects of his training, the progress he made over the years was astounding. When he finally completed his studies and officially joined the ranks of the Stormbreaker shamans, few were surprised.

But whereas the curiosity of those that had taught him was seemingly bound by the confines of their own clan's tales and exploits, Urgoz's thirst for new knowledge seemed insatiable. When he'd read all there was to be read from the limited conservatory of the Stormbreaker folk, he decided to risk a dangerous journey through the Luthmor rainforest, eventually reaching the city of Talmhaidh, where the Dheath cultures clashed with those from overseas in a brimming facade of trade and adventuring. His integration within the new, order-bound society went more smoothly than he'd initially thought. Although he towered above most Men, Fae, and even the odd Draconian, his formal way of speaking Dheath - after all, he spoke the language as he'd learned to write it - and several arrays of aiding law-enforcers in their struggles endeared him to many. After three years, he was allowed to join the company of higher scholars that gathered around the port city from all around. He proved to have a natural affinity towards mathematics, physics, and chemistries, posing hypotheses in his first year that baffled most of his academic peers.

Both his scientific talents and his vehemence in preserving Talmhaidh's laws did not go unnoticed by visitors from other continents. After many years of fruitful scholarship within the port city's academic confines, he responded affirmatively to a request of a Scarabrian diplomat, whom had asked him to become an aid of the City Guard on Scara Brae. It was the man's hope, or so he had spoken, that Urgoz's talent for abstractization and his prowess in combining the mystical with the scientific, would contribute to a more effective defence against several shady cores attempting to increase there influence on the peaceful country. In exchange, he would be given access to most of the Scarabrian libraries - a wealth of information that exceeded Talmhaidh's quite spectacularly. It was an offer that the shaman turned scholar could not resist. Several weeks later, he was standing atop the woodwork of a sturdy ship, Talmhaidh's grim contours fading into the distance behind him, and Scara Brae awaiting him at the other end of the horizon.

SKILL - MATTER TWISTING

Phase(( The ability to make a limited amount of matter go through the four chemical phases without the need for the usual conditions required to perform such phase shifts, such as temperature, pressure, etcetera. ))
At level 0, Urgoz can cause a handful of solitary, non-magical, and non-living matter to turn from solid to liquid, from liquid to gas, from gas to liquid, and from liquid back to its original form through magical means. Sublimation, deposition, and ionization cannot be achieved at this level.
Density(( The ability to alter the density of a limited amount of matter without the need for the usual conditions required to elicit such changes, such as temperature, pressure, etcetera. ))
At level 0, Urgoz can cause a handful of solitary, non-magical, and non-living matter to decrease in density, causing the mass per volume to fall. Examples of such alteration’s effects could be making a small rock float on water, or causing a piece of parchment to remain completely still even if assaulted by strong winds.
