OM-fricking-G. I just did one of the weirdest things I’ve ever done. Gotten to REM-sleep and back in 17 minutes, and I had one intense dream within that time. Like you’re mind is fully awake, but you aren’t aware, and you don’t know what’s real and what isn’t. I woke up at 1:00 A.M. and was feeling pretty tired, so I lay back down. I start dreaming that I wake up again at 5:00. Only it’s P.M. and my grandma is pissed at me because I missed the bus again. So she and my mom are going to some restaurant and I can’t help but think, “If they’re mad at me, why are we going to a restaurant?” I wake up right about there and look at my clock, and it’s 1:17 A.M.. I checked the day too, to be certain. It took me a whole minute to realize it was only 17 minutes after I’d woken up before. It’s now 1: 43 A.M. on the same day, almost a half hour since the incident, and I’ve felt like I’d gotten a full-night’s sleep since I woke up. It’s so fricking weird, I feel like I’m in the twilight zone, you know? The music’s actually going off in my head. Maybe I’m crazy….

Any thoughts? Other than about my sanity, that is… I’d really like to hear what Karuka has to say about it. She’s got some…experience with things like this.

Sounds like a power nap to me.

I really hate those. They pump you full of energy for about two hours and then you crash and sleep for like eight, and it REALLY screws up your sleep cycle. If you're really tired or even just half asleep, it isn't unusual for you to have dream-like experiences. I know I'm starting to actually fall asleep when I start getting a dream.

The mind likes to make things up as it wanders, and there's less "static," as it were, when you're almost asleep.

Powernaps FTW.

I've actually been doing that for about three days now and it seems to be working... for my schedule, anyways.

It also seems you're anxious about the day to come, too, as well as about missing an important schedule. Keep an alarm clock nearby just in case, Nyan. :p

haha. I'm not really anxious about anything... I think...but I do often have dreams about missing school...and they usually leave me disoriented
