Brother of My Blade
03-27-08, 12:18 PM
Name: Brother
Race: Warforged
Time Since Forging: Seven years
Height: 6'3"
Weight: Approximately 300 lb.
Occupation: Templar of the Silver Flame
Personality: Brother is a monk of the Silver Flame, trained as a hand-to-hand combatant and paladin of his order ever since the nation of Thrane purchased him from House Cannith seven years hence. He is a curious fellow, as are all of his ken. However, he tempers this curiosity with discipline and steadfastness against the corrupting power of evil. He is more likely to attempt to show a villain the error of his ways than to simply smite the bastard, though he will not hesitate in his martial condemnation should parlay fail or be impossible.

Brother has, engraved into his palms, a symbol resembling an arrowhead with a wispy flame inside it. A black mark rests upon his forehead, as it has since his forging, denoting his identity. The mark has no meaning, but is simply unique.
History: Brother was forged in the main creation forge of House Cannith's Whitehearth facility in Metrol, Cyre. His creation was the result of a commission by the Church of the Silver Flame and the nation of Thrane for troops to use in the Last War. Upon creation, he was taught rudimentary military protocol and obedience, before being shipped overland to the monastery that would be his home for three years. After that time, he was deployed for active duty as a monk templar in Thrane's 42nd Brigade, which served as borderguard against Cyran and Karnaathi insurgence. Then, after four years of patrol and battle against Karnaathi skeletons and zombies, as well as Cyran skirmishers, Brother's platoon was chosen for a strike at the heart of the Cyran nation, Metrol, where he had been forged. No one truly knows what happened that day, but it was forever after known as the Day of Mourning, and Cyre became the Mournland. Rather than dying in the eldritch destruction, Brother shut down. He awoke an indeterminable amount of time later in a place he did not recognize...
Skills:
Unarmed Combat Specialty- Brother is an above average combatant when fighting using his Cannith-forged body as a weapon.
Call of the Flame- Brother, having studied and trained as a monk of the Silver Flame, may channel the divine power of that purifying deity into his fists. He may smite a foe once per thread, dealing extra damage corresponding to the recipient's degree of corruption. The greater the evil taint in his foe's heart, the more his touch will harm them. This has its limits, however, and he can now, at most, double the damage he deals to a foe. Undead and demons, and their ken, automatically get this result, due to their nature.
Bow Proficiency- Brother has only rudimentary knowledge of the art of archery, as that skill is required of all acolytes of the Flame. He is below average with the bow.
Warforged Traits:
Selective Metabolism- Warforged are an amalgam of flesh and construct, and as such they are not as easily healed by magic as creatures of pure flesh. It takes twice as much effort, time, or energy for a healing spell to work on a warforged as it does a human. However, pure mystic energy may be weaved into the leathery tendons to cause them to self-repair. In addition, a warforged does not heal naturally, nor does it bleed to death or tire. They may only be killed by gross damage to the body as a whole, or to vital "organs" beneath the armored shell. If critical damage is dealt to a warforged, it may shut down temporarily, mimicking a death state for its own protection.
Forged of Steel- Warforged are covered in a layer of steel plating, with exposed sections of leather, tendons, and liveoak, a magical oak that still lives even after being hewed from its tree. For most warforged, and for Brother, this provides as much protection as a normal suit of half-plate armor and gauntlets.
Strength of a Golem- Warforged are naturally stronger than humans, to compensate for their increased weight. This does not translate to greater striking force, but rather to weight lifting and greater sustained force. Brother can move as easily as a human, and carry 1.5 times more weight than the average human and push with as much force.
Equipment:
Monk's Bow- Brother carries a simple bow of white ash, strapped to his back, and a quiver of twenty iron-headed arrows.
Holy Symbol- Brother carries about his neck a silver necklace with a silver medallion on it. The medallion resembles an arrowhead with a shimmering silver flame within it.
