'Evening, all.

I am... well, actually my name is unimportant. You can all just call me "Sethric". I have to say, I'm really excited to be a part of this website. I truly love writing, especially with a genre as versatile as fantasy, and I think this is exactly what I'm looking for. I hope I get along well with all of you, and to those of you that I don't get along with, um, I'm sure we'll have some really exciting conflicts.

I don't know if it's customary to talk about one's character in these kinds of introductions, but I will anyway.

I wanted to create a character based around, what I believe to be, the sinlge most simultaneously overused and misunderstood being in fantasy, the vampire. I'm sure all you self-proclaimed vampire-lovers out there are getting images of sexy gothic mistresses clad in black leather and fishnet, or handsome long-haired devils seducing women for the thrill of domination... well, quite frankly, all of that makes me sick. I want Sethric to be a Vampire, not a Vampyre , or a Vampiir, or whatever the hell twisted crossbreed the people create. No, he's not glamorous, he's not seductive or mysterious, not noble or gothic. He's a callous, power-hungry abomination, an ugly freak of the night who slays for sustenance. He lurks and schemes, kills and feeds, goes mad with bloodhunger and commits wretched atrocities.... sexy, huh?

So to Hell with Anne Rice, to Hell with "Vampyres", and an especially vile damnation to all the "Real Vampires" out there. I'm not one of you, nor will I ever be. I'm just a writer wishing with all his heart that he could ressurect the vampire, and cast out what it has now become. This is the first step...

Well, I'm thrilled to see such a warm series of responses! I think I'll really enjoy it here, and you all certainly seem like a worthy community.

As far as the "Half-Vampire" bit goes... Hell, I should really come up with a better term for it. What I'm going for isn't really a crossbreed, he's just like... almost like a freshly awakened vampire. He's still newly altered, with only a fraction of the power of a full vampire. I've got this whole crazy process worked out where a human consumes a small amount of Nosferat blood, which in term makes him partially vampiric... but enough rambling.

Point of the matter, there's really no other half to the Half-Vampire thing. He'll rise as a full vampire upon death. Just thought I'd clarify, I don't want to, as previously stated, conform to modern vampiric stereotypes with the half-breed thing.

it really doesn't matter what race someone plays but what they do with the character that matters. I'm sure you will do well and have lots of fun.

I get what you're talking about Sethric. The term you might be looking for is "Living Vampire", or some variant. Like being infected with a disease that slowly, slowly kills you, and when you do die, poof!, you're a full-fledged vampire.

Welcome man, I appreciate you taking the steps few do when confronting the vampire race. There are far too many pretty boys that just happen to know how to fight and look sexy at the same time. I'm looking forward to seeing what you have in store for this character.

I'd even be interested to do some type of quest/battle with you. Mostly battle though, I'd like to fight your character before you level up too quickly like all these other new guys around here. PM me if you're interested.

Heh, don't worry about Vampire stereotypes here, although we have them even up the places where sun does not shine people are pretty much weary of stereotypes...
