((Hello again, everyone. It's taken me a long time to think up a new character to take over, so please accept this as my intention to *end* Canen's life and start again with a fresh hand. After eight years of on/off writing, the old Khaian/Nocturnian/King of colourless fashion finally hung up his boots and called it a day. Still, where one thing ends, something new begins.))

Name: Syrion Darkflight
Age:Twenty one
Race: Khaian (for a full description and history, please see Canen Darkflight’s profile)
Alignment: Good

Description:

Physical attributes:

Sex: Male
Hair: Neck length, brown, draped into thin bangs.
Eyes: Sapphire blue

Other notes:

Syrion Darkflight stands at roughly five foot eleven, and appears slim and of medium build, not quite as framed as his father before him. However, his body is remarkably toned and it would appear quite flexible. His Khaian blood is toxic to humans, and can irritate the surface of skin or if entered into the bloodstream can cause sickness and dizziness.

Attire:

Syrion Darkflight owns two main sets of clothes: his normal everyday attire, and his battle gear.

His first set of clothes consist of a pair of durable hide pants and a open necked wolfskin top, complete with fingerless hide gauntlets and tough leather shin high boots. Syrion also owns a cold weather wolfskin coat that can withstand harsh conditions whilst travelling. These clothes are used mainly during his travels or whilst off duty.

His second set of clothes are used in battle. Less weighty, and far more comfortable to fight in, Syrion prefers a loose fitting silvery blue, long sleeved gi, tied at the waist with a three pronged scarlet red and blazing gold silk sash.

Weapon: Heaven’s Final Cry

Heaven’s Final Cry, Syrion’s Halberd, was used as a military weapon in one form or another from at least as early as the first Khaian dynasty until the end of Nocturnian occupation, where the Nocturnian Reavers were mostly wielding variants of this model. This version of a halberd resembles a war spear for the most part, with a small crescent blade attached to the head and a red horsehair tassel where the head is fixed to the shaft. It was a relatively common infantry weapon, especially in its common variant known as the dagger-axe, although it was used by cavalry and charioteers as well.

This version has three sharp points of attack, the two side blades and the tip, plus a rear counter weight that can be used to strike the opponent. The way the side blades are fixed to the main spear pole means there are empty spaces between the pole and the side blade. These "slots" could be used to trap an enemy's weapon and then the wielder of the halberd need only to jerk his weapon to disarm or even break (if of weaker material) the opponent's weapon. The wielder could strike with the shaft, with the option of then pulling the halberd back to hook with a side blade; or slap his opponent with the flat side of the halberd blade to knock him off his horse.

Essentially, the Heaven’s Final Cry pole and blades are forged from steel.
Syrion is adept at using the halberd as a weapon, up to moderate skill.

Magic: Sealing Wind (Level 0)

This magical wind is summoned and cast by Syrion to disrupt and negate magic. Anyone caught within the ten metre radius of this gust casts weakened magic for approximately thirty seconds, and weakened enhancing effects such as gradual healing, strength enhancing magic or the benefits of magically manifested barriers. This spell also includes effects brought on from enchanted items.

However, Syrion himself is not immune to these effects, and will himself be sealed if caught within the wind, which may fail from time to time.

Magic: Seer Fog (Level 0)

This magical fog is called forth and cast by Syrion to negate the effects of anyone attempting stealth. Anyone caught within the five metre radius of this spell is revealed for thirty seconds. This spell also includes effects brought on from enchanted items. As with Sealing Wind, Syrion is also vunerable to the effects.

Personality:

Much unlike Canen, Syrion was given a normal, healthy upbringing, and as such his personality reflects this. He is trusted by friends and those who know him, honest (if not sometimes brutally so), and respectful, whilst content with his lot. He believes in justice, however it is served, and appreciates that balance in the world is most important.

Background:

Birth and roots:

Syrion Darkflight, “son” of Canen, was called into existence not as a result of natural childbirth, but as the biproduct of a gift given by Isa to the Khaian people. Canen knew that in order to bear children, heirs to his Khaian legacy, he would have no choice but to sacrifice his own life in order that his soul be used as the base ingredients for a new Khaian life, an opportunity to keep the bloodline going past his very limited time. Praying to his god one last time, he asked for his life to end that another may begin. Isa granted this wish, this final parting of life to death, on Canen’s own day of birth, in a purpose built shrine hidden away in the Fallien Desert. As the final remnents of Canen’s body phased out of the space-time continuum, and with it all of the pain, sorrow and anger he had suffered during his life and a last feeling of pure freedom, two children was born.

These children spent three days alone, naked, and vunerable inside the tomb under the protection of Isa until Gideon Xerxes, Canen’s presumed-dead brethren and close friend, arrived, to find that his suspicions about Canen’s intentions were true. Gathering up the children under his arms, the so called Fallen Angel departed Canen’s tomb, leaving his Vampire Blade no-dachi at the altar, and over a century of memories together along with it. He soonafter named the children Syrion Darkflight and Sephrym Darkflight, and distributed each to caring parents in Radasanth and Underwood, where they would both be given an opportunity Canen and himself had never been presented: to live normal, healthy lives without ever having to hear of the horrors of their heritage. As the mighty Khaian warrior watched over the children from a distance, Gideon Xerxes, son of Gabriel, thought that these two unknowing brothers would never come to hear of their true natures, beyond simply being a Khaian and having to accept that they would probably never find the answers they searched for.

However, whilst Syrion grew up in blissful ignorance of his true origins, Sephrym experienced terrible visions of his real upbringing and birthplace, torturous flashbacks to a time in which he didn’t even exist, where he saw his Khaian people brutally murdered over and over again, looping around his mind like a tyrannical echo. The very same memories that his father Canen had been tortured by for almost a century. Eventually, Gideon reappeared and told Sephrym about his true past, realising the levee would soon break and figuring it was probably better for Sephrym to know than for the mystery to break him.

Sephrym slowly learned to accept his heritage and decided to remain forever in Underwood as its guardian, undisturbed by man.

Meanwhile, Syrion spent his life in ignorance of the truth. When, one day, he cut himself and black, oily blood seeped from the wound, he ran off out of sight and tried to cover up the injury. People would surely persecute him for being a monster? Was he not human? Questions he couldn’t answer, questions that, perhaps, he didn’t want answered. He was just Syrion Darkflight, always had been, and was nothing more or less.

It was to his relief that one day he was offered a job in the way of protection work, in the city of Radasanth, where he would soon learn of his true purpose…

LOL@Anti Kially. Sorry. Had to say it. Delete this post if you deem appropriate.

Don't flatter yourself Andy, mate. I wouldn't bother attaching the Darkflight name to a character just so I could snuff out a ridiculously overpowered little kid (which he is, by any standard I've ever seen for a Level 0), as I already explained to you.

So there. XD

Kially, please do not post in other people's profiles. No matter how much you just 'had to say it'.

Please give Seer Wind a time limit. Also, Sealing Wind is just too powerful a level zero attack, even if it is defensive. Cut it down to ten meters and change so that it doesn't always work. Also, more powerful magic will merely be disrupted and weakened.
