(This takes place after the two Onitachi quests: servants of the dark sword and Desert of the real. Kit has the Onitachi but I won’t utilize its special abilities until it is approved and will just treat it as a sword until it is)

Alerar was one dreary place, the place seemed so bleak to the fox girls. The sky was always a dirty gray and the place smelled like smoke while the trees were warped and twisted. Not a fun place to be.

But that’s what made the site that the girls came across much more strikingly beautiful. A sheltered cove that smelled of untainted saltwater. “Inari! Look this place is clean.” Kit ran towards the water and stopped short before her feet came close. Getting down Kit sniffed the water. Smelled like salt water and she tasted it and it seemed normal seawater.

A loud Splash echoed and Kit looked up. “I’m not sure it’s safe yet!” Kit yelled while Inari came up with a warm smile.

“It’s safe, feels really nice.” The young Kitsune dove underwater and saw all the strange fish, they had all kinds of pretty patterns, her favorite was a blue fish with silver frills and the looked like it was smiling instead of the same old dumb look.

Still Inari wanted to surprise her mother and she went swam towards shore, but Kit was already looking at her. “Aww How did you guess?”

“Pretty easily…” Kit smiled but the sound of waves was drowned out by a loud mechanical roar, even this haven wasn’t safe from Alerar’s machines.

“Wow that’s an airship?” Inari was pretty awed by the site. “Can we go see? Please.”

”Sure, just get dressed.” Kit smile she hoped that Inari could get dressed as fast as she got undressed, she didn’t want to have the little vixen caught only in a scant bikini. But Inari was quick and she followed though she didn’t dry off and the kimono was bothering the younger kitsune as it clung to her legs.

The two hid on a rock that was above the airship, several drow poured out into a cave, grabbing supplies. “Are they pirates?” Inari asked. “That’s a pirate’s cave right?”

“I dunno, I doubt it. Never heard of airship pirates and I think I would, must be something secret.” Kit swished her tails as she wondered what it could be.

Being a stowaway was harder then anyone could possibly imagine. The drows had censors and patrol groups that had to be avoided, on top of actually boarding the ship in the first place. It took a long time planning out the invasion of one of Alerar’s most prized piece of technology, the airship. However, once inside it was simple to avoid the many patrols that continuously circled its containment compartments. The ship had some lighting, but there was definitely enough darkness to hide in, allowing the patrols to pass by without the slightest bit of detection. This entire plan had only one purpose, and that was to pull off one of the greatest single man hijackings the elves had ever heard of.

Laying low in one of the seldom visited storage compartments, Ziggy tried to remain emotionless, as he planned on how to get by the countless guards, in order to invade the bridge and take control of the vessel. Having an airship would be a great way to make money, not to mention it could be a valuable asset when it came to wars, which broke out regularly among the many citizens of the different continents. This also came with great risk. If he were to get caught, Ziggy would surely be killed as soon as they took him to the capital. If he managed to bring the airship under his control, the entire Alerar army would be in search of him in order to both bring back their ship, and kill those who were involved in its disappearance.

Having mastered the patrol routes after a couple of days, Ziggy knew a patrol would be passing by any time. However, the patrol did not appear, and no sign of any such search was on its way. Getting to his feet, Ziggy slowly slid open the compartment door, and peered around the corner, only to be met by empty hall. The patrols were never late, and that fact alone set the bandit into high alert. Taking an uneasy step out into the open, Ziggy felt the floor begin to shake uncontrollable. The compartments rattled, and Ziggy fought to simple stay on his feet. Stumbling towards one of the glass windows that looked out over the landscape, Ziggy could see the ground approaching. They were going in for a landing at some sort of cave. This was the perfect chance to further move his plan.

Unsheathing his dagger, Ziggy kept it ready at his side. It would only take one drow to ruin his entire plan, and he did not plan on letting that happen. Passing along the corridors, Ziggy used the visual map he had made in his mind ever since boarding the ship two weeks ago. It had been docked in Corone, making deliveries, the perfect place for a bandit like him to get aboard. In a storage contained, he had been carried onto the vessel by its own crew, only to plan on hijacking it at a later date. Following the map, he made his way to the rear exit, where he would be able to exit the ship, and find out why they had landed.

Gripping the exit lever, Ziggy pulled it down, prepared to be met by at least a few drows. As the doorway hissed and dropped to the ground, Ziggy gripped his dagger tighter. Slowly it lowered, until the ground was in view, and now drow was anywhere near the exit. Exiting down the ramp, Ziggy hugged the side of the airship. The engines still running left him with limited time to find out what was going on. Scanning the surrounding area, he could tell they were on a hidden beach, and the cave that the drows were running in and out of had to be a supply base. Drums of fuel were being carried out, along with various other crates.

Ziggy prepared to board the ship again, knowing they would be taking off again. As he passed the rear end of the ship, he saw two figures approaching the ship. They were not drows, and almost appeared to be kitunes. As they drew closer, Ziggy felt his heart skip, and his breathing stopped. It was Kit and Inari, and they were getting far to close to the ship. The drows wouldn’t trust them, and would probably arrest them as soon as they got any closer. Trying to get their attention, Ziggy made small movements, hoping to attract them, but not the rest of the crew that was still loading supplies into the under belly of the ship. If Kit and Inari came any closer, Ziggy would have to get them aboard the ship before the drows saw them. If they turned around and left, they would remain safe, but Ziggy would probably never see either of them again.

Kit looked some more and saw an odd sight. Someone was skulking around the airship besides her. The airship landing seemed secluded enough that the idea of a thief scooping it out would seem very unlikely but here was a nondrow hiding from view as he made his way away. He must have hidden in the airship, defiantly a bold and cunning rogue.

Inari’s tail swished back and forth with excitement. “Ziggy!” I yelped trying hold her voice down as Kit shushed her. It was unexpected for Kit to find her old boyfriend in this remote corner of Alerar. Inari charged the good-hearted rogue while Inari followed.

“Careful Inari, we don’t want to be seen. Ziggy’s not supposed to be here.” Kit warned causing her daughter to slow down a little. Kit was sure that there would be some time to catch up with her old friend and lover. She had lost him in her wanderings like she did with Inari’s true father. Kit had trouble keeping men since she liked to keep moving. The next fight, the next job, the next Inn, most men just weren’t used to a girl that lived such an unwomanly life. Even Ziggy who loved Kit for what she was ended up lost when his and Kit’s trail parted.

“Zigurate, what are you doing here?” Kit asked but she preempted him with chancing a kiss on the mouth. The answer could wait for the fox girl, even though the cove at the foot of the rocky hill was crawling with Drow that if they caught the trio they would not be happy. “Sorry about that, guess we should hide?” Kit smiled with a blush; she really missed her lover and wanted to spend some time with. While romance was what she wanted, she’d have to take adventure, not like she minded adventure.

Seeing Inari sprinting towards him, causes Ziggy’s heart to pound against his ribs. As she drew closer, the rogue kept his eyes stuck to the many drows loading supplies. They seemed quite busy, and confident that their hidden cove was perfectly safe from intruders. Kneeling down, Ziggy wrapped his arms around Inari, quickly pulling her up close to the large air ship. He was finally able to breathe as they once again disappeared out of the vision of the loading crew. Letting go of Inari, Ziggy was finally able to smile as the anxiety of being caught passed, and he was finally able to focus on Inari, and her mother Kit.

The kitsune who Ziggy loved leaned closer to him, bringing her lips close to his. Going the rest of the way, Ziggy met her, kissing her lightly as they finally were together after so long. Wishing that it didn’t have to stop, he pulled away slightly, smiling at the blushing kitsune. “Yeah, we better get aboard; they are loading the final crates, and will be taking off very shortly.” Leading the way, Ziggy circled around behind the behemoth of a machine, until he was at the rear exit that he had used to get to the ground in the first place. Jumping up, he pulled himself up and into the large machine, before kneeling down, and offering a hand to both of the female kitsunes.

Quickening his pace, he could hear the sounds of the many guard reloading onto the air ship. Sliding open one of the lesser used cargo areas, he ushered both Kit and Inari into its containment compartment. Sliding the door shut behind him, Ziggy smiled, finally able to relax, knowing the guards would not be on patrol for at least a couple of hours.

“Welcome to my home until I can get this ship under my control. Guards inspect the rooms every once and a while, the next search should be in about three hours. Make yourselves comfortable.”

After having seen neither Kit nor Inari for what seemed like years, everything seemed so natural to the bandit. It was as if they had never been apart. Sitting down on one of the large crates, Ziggy beamed out towards the two female women. A small light lit up the room just enough to make out who was who without much difficulty. “What have you two been up to lately?”

Sneaking into the airship were easy thanks to the lax patrols that felt they were safe from thieves since they were so far away from anyone. Though Bandit must have sneaked in earlier since he had a spot all prepared for him. It was a small cargo room with crates for furniture and a good place to sit.

Ziggy started the conversation by asking what the two kitsune were doing recently. “Well we’ve just been going around.” Kit said as she thought about what she had done.

Inari broke in. “Come on, you took the evil sword from that madman in the village and then it made you go all crazy.”

Kit blushed as she nodded and smiled reassuringly at Ziggy. “Yeah, we got it taken care of though.” Kit took out the Onitachi to show her lover. The dark blade still had a sinister gleam in the little light. “Didn’t know I’d get through it.”

Inari went and laid on a crate as a bed then she looked at her mother and Ziggy. “You were so scary that one time, luckily Vic was there to help.” Inari had a face of mock worry as she said it.

Kit decided to change the subject a little as she looked around the cargo room. “You seem to be going big, never thought Airship theft was something you’d do.” Kit smiled impishly, she would help her lover and the thought of something this bi would be a challenge though Inari was here and the last thing Kit wanted was for her daughter to get hurt. “We should be careful.”

Catching up with Kit and Inari caused the tension that Ziggy had felt since boarding the air ship to disappear. It was just like old times sitting around and chatting with the two kitsune’s he had grown to love over the past year or so. Listening to every word that Kit spoke, Ziggy tried to piece together what his love had been doing while they were separated. It seemed they had been through quite a lot of trouble. The thought of Kit being possessed by some demonic blade caused Ziggy’s stomach to squirm. He had not been there to help Kit get through it, or to protect Inari from her temporarily insane mother. Biting his lip, he smiled as Kit brought up the airship.

“Well, I have been laying low for quite some time, and it’s about time I get some publicity. What better way to get your name out there then to steal an airship from the dark elves. It has never been done and if I pull it off we will be able to live the rich life.” Smiling, he moved closer to Kit, holding her hand with his. “Inari will be fine. When push comes to shove I will abandon the ship in order to protect her. I promise.”

Having reassured Kit, Ziggy stood up, and made his way around the cargo room. There were a few places of mention within the small room. Towards the back wall, behind where Inari was resting, Ziggy pointed above her. “Here is a ventilation duct, if we get discovered you two could easily fit in here while I distract the crew. Although I would rather not use the vents because I have no clue where they lead. The second way that I can ensure your safety is within these crates. They are all empty, and once you two crawl in I could seal them and then you can come out at a later time. The last option is to stand and fight together, and hope they don’t get to call in the dark Elvin high guard that escorts these ships. We want to surprise them.”

Taking a deep breath, Ziggy collapsed back onto the crate beside Kit. Wrapping his arm around her waste, he smiled. “We have some time to spare before we choose. The next scouting group will be coming in a couple of hours. What should we do until then?”

Ziggy seemed to have a pang of guilt for not being there for the two kitsune girls. Kit felt even warmer when he seemed to give signs that he still loved Kit and would protect her daughter even though Inari was born to a different father. The rogue was even ready to drop the heist if it led to bring Inari into danger, though how they were going to get out was beyond the three-tailed girl. But still Ziggy’s heart was in the right place.

Inari looked at the two possible hiding places and shuddered. “They don’t look very comfortable.”

“It’ll be alright, we won’t be in them for long.” Kit reassured as she put a comforting touch on her child’s shoulder.

“Yeah I know.” Inari replied with a shy smile.

Ziggy placed his arms affectionately around Kit’s waist and she giggled in return as he asked what should they do to pass the time. One idea came the Kitsune’s mind was rather inappropriate and unfair to Inari, that’d have to wait until success. “I’m not sure though we should plan and get an idea what to do when we can do it. Can’t pass the time until next port, they’ll probably find us.” Kit smiled as she loosened her sword and put it to lean next to her. “Maybe we can come up with a good idea. Any idea when most the crew will be asleep. Drow always seem to sleep whenever they want without much care to the sun cycles.” Kit joked though it would be much easier if there were a time when everyone but a pilot and a few watchmen would be asleep but that was a human, who knows maybe dark elves don’t sleep. Kit wasn’t really sure.
