I'm SO in love with the bands Mayday Parade and Copeland right now. Does anyone else have a favorite band nobody's heard of yet?

I must be more of a music nut than I previously realized.

I've recognized almost every single band listed so far. Some must be locals, however, for I've no clue who they are.

One of my only favorite metal bands thats still on the down-low is "Blood Tribe" But they are still local, as far as I know.

I actually just saw Mayday Parade at Common Grounds in Gainesville. My friend's band opened for them. They were awesome. Some of my friend's band an I got to sit down and talk with the lead singer for a bit. he's a cool guy.

Rocket Summer is very good. I enjoy them alot, tho I've never seen them live.

Yeah the singer was cool, he gave my friend Zane tips on singing. You should check out their band. I like them even more than Mayday, and not jsut cause they're my friends ;]

Collision Habit.
Haha.

Sorry, that's my band.
Um. So local they've only ever played one gig. But someone made us a wikipedia page, and I've asked a few people and no one knows, so we might have one fan.

Yea I've only recognised three or four so far. But then again I live pretty remote.

The local bogan band here is awesome, but they keep changing their name so I have no idea at the moment. So much unheard talent is really better than most of the mainstream stuff.

Dragonforce, Iced Earth, The Rasmus, Battery, Kashmir, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Disciple, Bolt Thrower, Withered Harvest(local)... Need I continue for the next half a page? Oh, and just to eat your minds, Devourment. Also, the Anti Nowhere League, Mercyful Fate(not sure how big they are anymore), Heaven and Hell, The Cruxshadows.

Lacuna Coil and Voltaire arefairly mainstream. Chick from LC actually did a gig with Megadeath on United Abominations, they redid A Tout le Monde, and it was awesome.

Lacuna Coil was on an album track for a videogame (Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines) and Voltaire has done work on Billy and Mandy.

Still, this isn't the "bands we think are mainstream" thread. A lot of people still haven't heard of them, so I think their inclusion is perfectly acceptable.

Hell if I haven't been linked a hundred times to that Dragonforce song.

Through the Fire and the Flames you mean? Or Where Dragons Rule? Those are the two most common ones on youtube as best I can tell. There's a few more that made Youtube, I think...Heart of a Dragon might have, and I think Prepare For War did once.

Through the Fire and the Flames.

I believe it's in Guitar Hero 3, too.

That's one of their better numbers. I prefer a couple others though, notably Revolution Deathsquad.

Iced Earth, really? They're really quite popular.

A band I like is called Benefit.

I've only heard one song, but it was a rap song about the nes mario game (Sorta) and in the background was the mario brothers toon. But they went further than that. Look up the lyrics, if you feel brave enough. I don't think I am allowed to post them on this site, though, as they are pretty dirty.

The name of the song is "Warp to world 6-9"

You make literally three people I know who have even heard of IE, much less listen to them. Maybe it's just living here in Northern VA, where everything is either rap or other shit, and if it doesn't get airtime, it doesn't get bought. I've never found a radio station that'll play them.

Yeah, Iced Earth is well known in Montreal. But I definitely don't measure their popularity by radio play. Actually, it's probably because I'm a metal guy, so nevermind.

I saw [velvet] in concert tonight, and they were pretty good. The bassist was hot.

I have Iced Earth's Something Wicked This Way Comes, and I like, and I know a few of us English types who at least know who they are. I reckon they are fairly well known over here.

Personally, I went to see a band called Twin Atlantic, a scottish rock group. Wasn't quite what I was expecting because they owned.

I might throw a few maybe popular bands in the mix too: Sonic Boom Six, Queensryche, and if you like that kind of stuff, The Matches.

I got one more to throw in there. Jason Mraz.

Hey, Writing Writer, I'm surprised anybody other than me on this site even knew about Warp to World 6-9. Surprised, but thankful. You happen to know anyplace I can download the song from?

My best guess would be Limewire. But ofcourse, as they say, Google magic.
