I won't use my most recently written one, because that was in a long story-style and as an admin on a cuppla other sites I know how annoying they are to grade. Instead, I shall write an all-new character application! My god!

Name: Rhiona Blackwood, but Rhia is easier on the mouth.
Age: Sixteen, and has been so for one or two months.
Race: Decidedly and defiantly human, despite her elemental attempts.
Hair Color: A rusty orange-red. She often dyes it a more fashionable blonde; but as she is not the most skilled at such things, it usually comes out streaky, too strong or a completely different colour.
Eye Color: Grey-green, a tarnished silvery colour. Grey is supposed to be a mysterious colour, but on her it just looks fairly dull.
Height: She refuses to measure and weigh herself, but she is a little shorter than average.
Weight: Again, she refuses to check, but she is dangerously thin due to her drastic dieting techniques.

Occupation: She refuses to get a decent job, as she is a 'lady'. However, she has had a little practice in dressmaking and needlework, music (singing and a few instruments; but she only knows six songs on each and nothing else, cannot compose, sightread or any other skill) and painting (watercolours and sketching only). To get by, she usually pawns her jewellery or persuades a merchant friend to sell her clothing for her.

Personality: Rhia is a peculiar girl. Firstly, she is quiet, but not because of shyness. She is, in fact, overwhelmingly polite. She would rather die than approach someone she does not know well, would rather cut off a limb than step first through a door, and as for drinking, well... She never forgets her pleases and thank-yous, which is a good thing, but unfortunately she always brings along her if-it-is-no-trouble-I-would-be-so-grateful-and-repay-you-any-way-possibles too. Her curtsey is graceful, as is her dancing (ballroom and a little ballet).

She has almost no experience in the world by herself. Such skills as bartering, shopping, employing someone are unknown to her and she has a tendency to overreact if somebody does something to her that she considers indecent. Rhia would prefer to struggle alone than ask another for help, a rather irritating trait, but when there is an attractive and wealthy young gentleman nearby she has no trouble asking for assistance.

Her mother trained her well, arranging audiences with well-off men and suitors endlessly, and from her Rhia has inherited her matchmaking...skills. That is, the pairs Rhia decides on almost never end up together, but in the process Rhia's plots and schemes usually introduce them to another certain someone who is just perfect. This is completely by accident and irritates Rhia to no end.

She is impractical, preferring to spend hours or days learning a fairly useless skill or a lot of money on a useless item, but will refuse to exchange just a little time or money on a really efficient fighting style or weapon. She can also be hypocritical, but she is never stubborn. Rhia is easily swayed and gullible. Her first reaction to a command is to obey immediately, though lately as she gains experience in the wide world she is overcoming that.

Rhia is also rather imaginative, and can lie in abundance. She is not that good at lying, but her tales are believable enough to be convincing. She is also aways coming up with new idea for outlandish weapons to hide on her person, however, she is not very good at crafting weapons, so these ideas usually remain just that; ideas.

Appearance: Fair skin covered in unbecoming freckles that she covers with powder and make-up. Rust-red hair dyed blonde, badly. Dull, dark grey-green eyes. A small, sharp nose and thin lips. Angular, bony body and short stature. Her looks are ones that are not considered pretty or beautiful, but they are interesting - slightly unusual. She has been compared to a pixie before; whether or not this is an insult she has not decided.

Rhia usually wears becoming but simple gowns in shades of iron-grey or steel-blue. However, at the slightest suggestion of a special occasion, she will come dressed to impress - or terrify. Out come the bows, the frills, the flowers, the jewels. She has a wide collection of jewellery, all quality gold and silver, that seem to get stolen extremely often. She generally prefers to wear simple clothes and tunics but she has a weakness for jewels and accessories.

History: (I will make it a little briefer, as I'm short of time.)

She was born to wealthy, loving and aristocratic parents who decided she must learn skills that would be useful in the world. Thus, her father taught her archery and other accuracy training, and her mother taught her flower arranging, six songs in various instruments, singing (her voice is neither exceptional nor atrocious), etiquette, deportment and elocution. She was betrothed before she was ten to a rich and influential gentleman's son who she knew well and was friends with. She had her every desire.

Unfortunately, when she was eleven, her mother passed away. This is not a tragic story; so Rhia moved on after a while of grieving. That is the way of the world - people die, and people cry, but then they stop. Her mother's death meant that her father was left to bring her up alone, except for the many servants and maids they employed. Rhia was polite and obedient, so that was no trouble, but her father worried about her. She was too naive, too inexperienced - she needed a little more spark.

So he sent her out on a trip to a land quite far away. She forgot the name, because she never arrived. The coach she travelled in got lost, the coachmen fled and she was left in the middle of nowhere by herself, at fourteen years of age.

Rhia was logical and more practical then, so she proceeded to the nearest city where she sold the two horses and what was left of the coach. With the money, she rented a room where she tried to figure out where she was and how to get home. Fourteen-year-olds do not suddenly arrive alone in cities untroubled, and she received a little unwanted attention, but she was not particularly attractive or rich or defenceless, so it was not as bad as it could have been.

All in all, she was managing to survive rather well. And it was rather better than the strict life she had had before. And it was rather nice not having to wear corsets. So she wrote back to her father saying that she was staying. He agreed.

Skills and Physical Attributes:

Chameleon: She doesn't really change colour. It's just a knack, a way of holding one's body so one blends into the background a little more. Not even really a skill, but it will improve with experience. Currently she just becomes a little more difficult to notice. This does not affect those with sharper than average observation skills or psychological conditions, for example, autism, dyslexia and any others.

Fire: Rhia likes to think she is good at controlling fire, but she is not. It is true she has a liking for the element, and she wastes all her money on amulets and talismans, but she has pretty much no potential. Not really a skill; just thought it would be a good place to put it.

Woodsman: She is resourceful and knowledgeable about survival alone. She can set up a fire, a tent and has a useful store of information about obtaining water and necessary substances. This will improve with time and experience.

Diplomacy and Charm: She is polite, diplomatic and charming, which helps when trying to escape from tight holes. She can be tactful and is good at interrogating people and getting out inportant information.

Dagger (short-range and throwing weapons): Not very good, but she is still practising.

There's another one I've forgotten. Wait a minute.

Speed: She has above average speed, a skill she uses most for running away.
Strength: She has extremely weak physical strength.
Endurance: Quite weak stamina.
Mental Strength: Rather weak.
Reactions: Above average reaction time.
Agility: Average.
Intelligence: Above average.
Accuracy: Above average.

Equipment:

ONE small steel dagger with wooden handle (poor quality)
ONE bundle of good wood and tinder
MANY pieces of jewellery (not much use in a fight or suchlike, just accessories)
ONE 'Legendary Talisman of Fire' (FAKE, the gullible idiot)

Familiars: She had a cat once but it died of old age when she was ten.

Yeah, or else!!

Get crackin' on finishing this. It's not like you can score a hundred without a character.

If you want her to have any skill whatsoever with the dagger, put it under your skills. I'd imagine she'd be a novice.

Consider yourself approved after that. Woop!

Oh yes, I'll put her as not-very-good. Thanks very much!
