The Pagoda is currently short one Warrior. Given the current volume of activity that battle venue is currently experiencing (and this is probably the slowest part of the year), I want to fill this spot as quickly as possibly, as well as possibly add an extra Warrior spot to help keep up with the challenges. Everyone is free to apply in this thread, but there are some qualities that will be prioritized above others. These are as follows:

The applicant is active -- this one speaks for itself. The nature of the Pagoda requires regular posting.

The applicant has a decent amount of writing experience on Althanas -- experience is definitely desirable, especially since the applicant won't actually be fighting for the position.

The applicant has a character level two or lower that he/she is willing to use -- we have a disproportionate number of higher-level characters in the Hierarchy and I would like to balance it out some.

Note: The time, effort, and detail put into the application will also be a major factor.

I'll apply. I think Edward would love the Pagoda. I was thinking of sending him there soon anyway.

I shall apply, what do I need to do?

Write up an application including why you wish to becoem a Warrior, why you think you deserve it, and what your arena would be.

You could always include a link to your best battle, too.

Edward Judorne's Application.
----------------
Why does he wish to become a warrior:

IC reason: Edward has tasted what the citadel has to offer and has made the decision that it just isn't enough. He believes he needs more opponents at a wide array of strengths and skills to truly train himself properly. He can't always be challenging others, either. Becoming a Warrior would make it much easier to find challengers, because everyone would be after his placement in the pagoda.

OOC reason: I've been thinking of checking the pagoda out anyway, and this is a great opportunity.

Why Does he Deserve it:

IC Reason: Edward never turns his back on a challenge, and while he may not be the best there is, Edward can outsmart his foes, making him tough to beat.
Yes, Yes, I know he is losing to you, Christoph, so don't even go there.

OOC reason: Simply put, I have no life outside Althanas at most times and can easily post most every day, I have been with althanas since before Precrash, and easily fit into your Prerequisites for the pagoda.

Edward's arena: I had to think long and hard on this one. To tell the truth, it would be very simplistic because Edward wouldn't want to make an arena that gave himself or his opponent any real advantage. I'm thinking a sandy floored circular room with no ceiling.

Why Travis wants to be a Warrior: He wants the challenge of fighting some of the higher ranked hierarchs and a chance to earn some fame in Scara Brae.
Why deserve it: I just lost a battle to HikariAngel, but the things I learned will help me be a better Warrior. IC, he fought well; I'd promote him :)
His arena: A replica of his homeland, used in this thread. (http://www.althanas.com/world/showthread.php?p=110315) A medium-sized clearing surrounded by a forest. A stream runs nearby.

Also, I post pretty often; I joined in the beginning of March and I am already Level 1 :)

I'm going to throw my name into the hat.

IC Reasoning: Originally Logan had travelled to the Pagoda to find Joshua Cronen in order to recruit him for Vice. As he grew closer to his mark's location, however, his purposes changed. In order to gain more notoriety for both his power group and himself, he decided to join the Pagoda as a Warrior and work his way through the ranks, and also prove the power of his power group.

OOC Reasoning: Battles have always been a strong point of mine, and I'd like the chance to help others out and kinda help them hit that next level.

Arena:

The two glass doors lead into a large building that was covered in extremely contrasting colors, almost blindingly so. From bright yellow and orange to a bright green, all colors were represented in some way or form. Adorning the walls were shelves that held hundreds of toys, from the ever popular Darth Vader plastic telescoping lightsaber to the small, battery-operated power wheels, it was all there. If one could find it in a Toys'R'Us, the combatants would find it here. The main attraction, however, was a large inflated "moonwalk" that was in the shape of a clown right in the middle of the building.

(Obviously more description will go into the arena if I am accepted)

Logan informed me that he was no longer interested, and after giving it some thought, I decided to go with Nony Mouse.

Mouse: I will add you to the roster once you confirm that you are still interested.

Applications of Warriors are open again! We've lost a lot of our hierarchs, and with the new interest in the Pagoda, I need to replenish the ranks. Follow the format provided if you're interested in being a Pagoda Warrior.

Quentin Boone

Application from Quentin Boone for position of Pagoda Warrior:

Reason: Having completed two missions for Count Sorthus of Scara Brae, he was told to sharpen his already above-average abilities in order to show worth so further jobs could be given. Jobs that would give massive wages, apparently... The Pagoda was probably the best place for this, Quentin surmised, so made an application for the position.

Why does he deserve it?: For the past fifteen years he has been working as a mercenary, utilising skills he doesn't even know the origin of, earning a pittance of a salary as jobs in Scara Brae have been few and far between because of the peace maintained by the Queen. Perhaps this will be the chance he needs to finally earn some real money.

Quentin's Arena: A realm that in some way reflects his personality, the vast desert-land beats on you from the moment you enter: Sweltering heat, sand whipping about in hot winds, pockets of air occasionally 'popping' to send columns of sand-filled steam from the ground. This environment, harsh, unforgiving, is not natural for Quentin either who also is affected by such conditions. But, some form of balance is gained from the lack of control the mercenary has over his arena, in the form of something or other disabling magic.

Well, technically you were supposed to explain why you as a player deserved it. =p Still, having judged one of your threads myself, I'm confident in your abilities. Welcome aboard.
