Advancing Iz's Story

I've always kind of planned for Izvilvin to confront Step, that assassination/espionage-type group, heads up at one point. Take the fight to them using the things they taught him, and all that. With the Bandit Brotherhood not really taking off, and Iz's other storylines in limbo, I think now's a good time to do that.

Any foundation I have for this is very bare-bones. But I'm willing to stretch and bend to include one or two other people in the storyline, which will probably extend to a few quests (you don't need to stick around for them all, naturally). This means it won't just be IZVILVIN QUEST PLUS ONE OR TWO, hopefully.

What I need, is:

- A character that can quickly gain the trust of a fairly suspicious person, and for some reason, have some kind of asset(s) that would make him/her useful against the mysterious Step organization.

- Something else that makes sense.

So any interest would be appreciated. I plan on doing some good writing here, so we'd need to brainstorm a bit and come up with a story together. All information on Step is very vague, and hardly any exists in the first place. So it'll take some inventiveness.

Now hold it right there! Don't even start to assume that! Iz is a well respected member of althanas, and I've quested with him before, and you know what? It was one of the most fun quests I've done.

Only problem is, if we crucify you, you'll probably bleed acid and parasites that will kill off every ugly woman, ugly man and forum troll, thus destroying 99% of the forum population.

Well, Step doesn't really have riches, and the problem is probably that Izvilvin wouldn't ask for help. But if I could come up with the location of their base, it could happen to be in a place where Raelyse is. They run into each other and wacky hijinks occur, or some shit.


So far my idea is this: Multiple quests. In the first, Dan is hired by Step to kill Izvilvin because their normal assassins are pussies. So they fight and for some reason I am not destroyed. Via some clue/convoluted plot, Izvilvin has a lead on where to go. That could take up one quest.

The next could involve Kially and/or Raelyse and/or Rayse, but I'm not smart enough to have come up with the next part, yet. I'm thinking he could find a list of Step agents, and go to their houses/locations and killing them, trying to take out the organization at the joints. The only problem is coming up with a way to include some others in a storyline that has revolved around Iz.

So if any of you have plot points that could tie in with any specific region, that'd be cool. You could happen to kill a Step agent while doing something else, maybe.

Okay, so Step is some mafioso group that specializes in whacking people. You realize this is right up my alley, right? I could fill in all the blanks if you want me to.

Yeah, that's pretty much what it is. It's a secret branch of the Corone military, but they also gather information and spy on foreign leaders.

Where would you fit in fighting against them, though? Or would you want to be on their side against Izvilvin in some manner? What ideas have you got, yo!?
