History:
Math’urnac. Vile demons, wanting nothing more than to satisfy their lust for blood. Feared by everyone, opposed by no-one. Roaming the land with their armies they conquered city after city, leaving no survivors or traces. Plundering, raping and killing they exterminated countless civilizations.
Their horrible claws and fangs didn’t left even a child alive…
Though, there was one kingdom that managed to outsmart these spawns of evil. That was the human stronghold of Flémar. Guarded by huge stone walls and trained knights they were successful in repelling the monstrosities of Math’urnac. Slaying demon after demon the Flémar knights were much more organised than there opponents. Being killed ten to one made the Math’urnac more bloodthirsty than ever. The last full-scale attack took out half their forces while they didn’t gain any ground.
The demonic warboss, Dastath, was being pressured. The drooling demons wanted spoils of war and this specific war didn’t show any results. Dastath knew his kin weren’t merciful on a leader who failed. There were no other options left but to take a huge gamble. He needed to avert from the Math’urnac ways and invade a nearby kingdom, to take prisoners. See, the mighty walls of Flémar were impenetrable for the huge demons. They couldn’t break through and their war machines didn’t had the reach to swing over them. So Dastath brewed on a cunning plan* to get into Flémar.
A nearby faerie forest had been allies of the humans for many years. Using the excuse of taking out an ally to weaken the humans Dastath was capable of rallying his kin into an attack on the massive forest. They charged through, burning the faerie homes and killing their warriors and mages. But sparing the females and taking them as prisoners. It took the leader a great deal of lies and promises to convince the demons of his plan.
The female faeries were locked up in cages and kept out of sight for a long time. The Math’urnac were executing their plan and weren’t attacking Flémar in the meantime. The humans even thought they’d won and started lowering their guard in the many months that passed. This didn’t go unnoticed to the demons, which caused an enormous morale boost. They wanted to attack now, they wanted to taste the fresh human blood on their lips.
But Dastath told them to stay calm. Though in truth he felt the same. He also wanted to launch an attack at the stronghold but he knew he would lose his few remaining warriors. It was the very reason he captured those beautiful faeries. He wasn’t sacrificing anymore of his own warriors. He was creating a new generation of warriors, for the sole purpose of being cannon fodder. Crossbreeding Math’urnac and faeries needed to create to ultimate warrior. After many, many failures they had finally managed to create a vast amount of perfect fighters and mages.
They were supposed to fly over the mighty Flémar walls and destroy the humans behind their own protection.
Were supposed to.
For the demon faeries broke free, their own bloodlust and hatred turning against the Math’urnac. Combining forces with the humans they vanquished Dastath and his forces. They even killed their faerie mothers, not sparing a single soul.
Now these creatures roam the lands like their creators did. Conquering city after city, leaving no survivors or traces…
Appearance:
These…creatures…are just gruesome. I don’t know what the Math’urnac did to those poor faeries.
Esathius isn’t really your average faerie. He has an almost bald scalp and pointy ears. His eyes look like they’re staring into nothingness, although they seem to contain no pupils. The eyebrows are very slim and are mostly in a V like position. Just slightly above the eyebrows Esathius has a shiny red magical jewel embedded into his forehead. But the most frightful thing about him is his size. He is more than half the size of an adult human, though, more than twice the size of an adult faerie. For comparison, he’s almost the same size as a dwarf.
His faerie wings are much like that of a butterfly. They aren’t brightly colored, though, they consist of almost only dark colors. The wings are 6 feet width and 4.2 feet high. Also, they’re armored and enforced with steel all along the edges and can be used as a weapon when the situation calls for it.
Esathius wears almost no armor. He only has a cotton vest covering his upper body, not including his lower arms, and a small part of the bottom section. It’s strapped with a belt which carries the sheath for a sword. His feet are hidden in a pair of dark colored boots.
Personality:
A weird mix of demonic bloodlust and faerie friendliness. I love it!
Esathius is an outcast faerie and acts like it. He has a great hatred for other, weaker, faeries and usually slays them if one happens to cross his path. Though other winged creatures, like dragons, can easily gain his respect. He isn’t a ruthless killer, murdering everyone in sight (unless they’re faeries) but he also isn’t hesitant to shed some blood or pick a fight when he feels like it.
He doesn’t care about the little things in life, unless they’re shiny, pretty objects, and doesn’t spend his time maintaining friendships or relationships. He sees other persons who happen to have the same cause as allies, no more.
Weapons:
“Itarabiel”: Esathius’ favorite weapon, nicknamed Itarabiel. It’s a 4’5 ft high, steel lance. It’s just a bit taller than the demon himself. Double-edged and pointed blade on the top, creating the perfect weapon to strike with from both the air and ground. It was originally created for the Math’urnac as a way to attack over distances and high obstacles. Itarabiel can still serve in that task but Esathius has managed to wield it nicely on the ground too.
Wooden Scimitar: The scimitar is slightly longer than a short sword, measuring in at about 1.3 feet. This sword is of own Demon Faerie making, causing the sword to be a bit less light but a lot stronger.
Inventory:
Ruby Pendant: Esathius has a ruby as a necklace which is rumoured to posses magical powers. He isn’t able to release these powers, though, and it does nothing to help him. The shiny jewel just looked so pretty that he wanted to keep it.
Faerie Skills & Magic:
Esathius is fifty percent Faerie, although he isn’t to happy with that, which makes him capable of casting a small amount of faerie magic. Mostly this magic is harmless, helping and healing magic.
Fly [ Average ]: Esathius is capable of flying by using his wings in the traditional way. He’s still fairly inexperienced with flying so he can only travel relatively short distances. After which he always needs to rest. The speed at which he travels is at the moment 25 mph.
First Aid [ Below average ]: Esathius can summon forth a bright white aura from the jewel on his forehead which covers his entire body. It heals small wounds and little ailments, like a slim cut, tiny bruise or nausea. It has a limited use of twice per thread.
Demonic Skills & Magic:
Esathius is fifty percent Demon, which allows him to cast a small amount of demonic magic. Opposite of his faerie side, this sort of magic is most harmful and is intended to inflict damage upon others.
Sword Wielding [ Below average ]: Esathius has been trained by the Math'urnac in the ways of demonic sword fighting. This makes him capable of wielding a wide variety of swords. Ranging from rapiers to broadswords. Though, he's still a rookie at battling with those. He currently carries a scimitar, which tend to get the most out of him. He can make a couple of successful strikes at an enemy with those types.
Polearm Wielding [ Below average ]: As one of the few Faeries Esathius has learned to fight with the longest weapons available; polearms. He can both throw and fight with his weapon though it has a fair chance of missing the target. At the moment he’s still quite slow with the lance, also contributing to the chance of misses.
Soul Shot [ Good ]: Esathius is able to empower his trusty spear with the darkness of his soul. Drawing power from deep within his heart the weapon gets covered in a dark, black fire. Fighting with or throwing the weapon will result in a single, devastating blow, causing increased damage to an enemy.
