A laugh spouted from her as she pushed open the swinging doors on the fine summer's day in S.B.

“Howdy do Folks!” She said loud and with a smile.

Ignoring the few groans and growls she made her way in and threw a few gold on the counter.

“Three pitchers and a stack of mugs, I'm expecting people.”

She found a long empty table, checking it for level as she looked around for a moment.

“Who around here wants to have some adventures?” She spoke again with loudness, gaining more attention.”I lead a group of people that do this adventuring thing regularly and we are looking for new membership every day, so step on up and join, doesn't cost a thing!”

Did i mention OPEN OPEN OPEN?

Do to when you got approved in comparison to when Dallas got approved everything he would know about you is based on your level 0 profile, assuming that even comes up.

"I assume you are Mia Kane" I said after the woman was done withe her announcement. I knew I had to choose my words carefully, after all, if I revealed how much information I knew about her, I'd look like a stalker. I hadn't been on Althanas for long, but I was already recognizing faces from when I was reading profiles on earth.

"I am quite knowledgable about a lot of people around these parts, and as such feel I might be a great asset to your cause. My name is Dallas Texas, by the way." I continued, introducing myself after I knew I had her attention.

I hoped she wouldn't turn me down like most everyone else. I was here because the world was too dangerous for him to face on his own.

The short series of blinks that preceded her words were simply out of surprise of someone stepping up so quickly.

Damn, that was quick!

“Yeah, you got the right elf,” She said as the beer arrived, her hand moving as she listened, pouring a mug for her new friend. “pull up a chair and have a drink.”

It was shocking that someone knew her, but then again, in the world of an ice elf, nothing was really all that surprising. Mia felt like she was forgetting something as she laid her bag on the table, the sleeping form of Serenity rolling out onto the table, wrapped in green bandanas. There was a long pause as she sat and watched, then something caught the corner of her eye.

“Oh, dang, almost forgot!” she said, grabbing some paper and a pencil, sliding them across the table along with a bandana she pulled from about her plushie companion.

“Just need your name and here is the way we can find members, it signifies membership and that if another person wearing one comes to you for help, that you cant turn them down unless you've been told specifically by a leader, or if its on the bulletin board back at the store in Donnalich.” She spoke while pointing to the one that was tied around her right arm.

I was relieved when she didn't ask how I knew her, but instead just accepted the fact. It wasn't going to be easy explaining how I knew so many people that didn't know me if it ever came up, but at least I was being accepted.

When Mia explained about the green bandannas and whatnot, I was tempted to point out that I wasn't much of a fighter, but decided not to. I just signed the paper and put on the headband happy to finally be able to find someone I could work together with.

"So, you mentioned you lead a group. Who else you got?" I asked out of curiousity as I sat down next to Mia.

Swoosh!

The doors swung open as a Zaga rushed inside the festive place at the mention of adventure. He sniffed the place as he glared rapidly side to side. He stopped at the door, trying to locate whoever offered fun, as a drunk does for that who spoke of his mother.
A porcelain face peeped under his arm.

“Wtf, mate” Spoke Selene after finally catching up to Zaga after his spontaneous desire to run into a tavern.

“There!” He pointed, before grasping Selene and dragging her to the table offering plentiful beer.

“What- the HELL!~” she whined.

“We want to have some adventure, you,” Zaga told the ice elf as he attempted to sing the paper, but then he reconsidered, “Can we?” the male turned to face Selene.
“Well If I wanted to go ahe-“
“Pleeease…” he chimed.

There was a brief moment of silence. Selene paused as she stared into Zaga’s Puppy-eyes.
Heavy-shouldered, she must have blinked a thousand times before signing the paper without the thought of asking exactly what it was all about.

Arcadia Du’ Vedevich Selene signed in pseudonymity. Then Zaga, for her fae companion who was clueless enough to not be able to spell.

“Now spill it, woman,” Selene snapped “,what is this adventure thing all about?”

Zaga joyfully gulped down from a mug of beer.

Mia was just about to answer with the congratulatory “you're the first one!” speech when a most peculiar dynamic duo entered the establishment.

After watching them in amazed silence, the ice elf spoke when it was finally needed.

“uh...exactly as it's stated, we adventure! You know, we go out looking for things, mostly old things, rare things, magical things. Maybe saving some people if we need to, and of course, we are the kind of group that helps its members, by donning one of these bandandas” she said before handing a pair of them over to these two new members,” It means that if someone donning one comes in need of aid, you help them without asking questions, and if you see someone donning them, you know they are one of us and you can ask for their help as well.”

there was a pause as she watched Zaga, “so please, pull up a chair and have a drink on me.”

Now she turned back to Dallas, giving a soft smile with a sparkle in her eyes, “well, them.” she said, pointing her thumb at the dynamic duo of Zaga and Arcadia.

At this point she paused again, mostly to take a long drink.

“You know, maybe we need a secret handshake or something too...”

[Tsukiko]

Yeah I was kinda nervous. A group of adventurers sounded like it was a fun thing to join but I’m not the best person to be in groups. I’m a bit shy and not the best with words. I was a decent adventurer and pretty good with a sword but I wasn’t sure if this place was right for me.

I nursed my drink for a little while as I watched the group meet. Two humans, a fae and an elf were there. It was quite the group and having a fox girl would only make it even more motley. I smiled, wagged my tails and straitened my kimono to build up the courage.

I walked over to the group and stuck my right hand up in a nervous wave. “Hi, I’m Tsukiko. I umm heard that you are forming a group of adventurers. I’m pretty good with a sword.” I said, hoping I made a decent enough impression that they would take me. Probably not, I would likely have to beat someone with a sword to get in. That is how these kinds of things work don’t they? Well I hoped this group was different.

Serenity stood and stretched as she finally woke up, her body eliciting a soft purr as her claws held to the wood. It was then that the Ice elf's eyes locked onto a fine rarity of the world, one of the few rumored kitsunes.

Daaaaaamn....

there was a broad smile across her face as she listened to the unique voice. “Well welcome aboard then Tsukiko, was it?” Mia said softly as she retrieved a bandana for their new member.

Her eyes glanced around as she leaned forward a little, “Everyone gather around, we're going to have a secret handshake so that we can all be sure of membership.” she said as she put her hand out, showing them all the new secret handshake that she just thought up.

[Camella]

Camella had been in the peaceful Promanade for 15 minutes already when the secret handshake was shown. She was in her invisible state at the moment because she was afraid people might recognize her as having a bounty on her head.

She really wantedto work with this group though, Especially seeing as how the person she was supposed to meet here was a no show.

Finally deciding to take the chance, Camella quickly and quietly signed the paper, knowing full well that to any onlookers, it would seem like the pen was writing all by itself. She didn't dare use her full name, for doing so could be just as suicidal as showing herself. Instead, what she wrote was as follows:

Cammy (I wish not to be seen right now. Tap the table twice if it is okay for me to grab my own bandana)

Edward walked in to the Promenade slowly and looked around. It didn't take him long to realize what was going on. All he had to do was take one look at the signup sheet and all the people around the table to realize that someone was trying to recruit. Having nothing better to do, Edward quickly signed.

After hesitating a bit, Edward pointed to the signature above his.

"Ok, stupid question here, but have you figured anything out about this?" Edward said, pointing at where 'Cammy' signed.

There was always that wait that set in her mind that wondered when something “unusual” was going to present itself to her. It started with the name Cammy, which for the shaman was nothing new, many invisible things existed. So far to the point that sometimes people would have to wonder if there was enough room for everything.

Serenity, what do you think?

The words flowed through the ether between the plushie and herself, both of them viewing the other side with ease. Mia could only but pick up the sense of a solid being, while the feline could go much deeper.

She looks fine to me, serenity replied in the same manner.

With a soft nod, the elf knocked on the table twice as Serenity pulled up a bandana with her teeth for their invisible friend.

It was then that she noticed the newest, a fine member called Edward and gave him a wink in acknowledgment.

“welcome aboard brother”

[Camella]

'Cammy' grabbed the bandana, rolled it up, and wore it like a headband. while most of it disappeared because of how tight and closefitting she wore it to her skin, the two loose ends in the back still were in perfect sight. That and the beer mug that Cammy drank out of were all that even acknowledged that she was still there. She wasn't taking any chances even now that she was part of the group. After a few sips of her beer, she remembered something she had heard Mia tell someone else. Quickly picking up the pen again, Cammy started writing a note to Mia on a napkin.

"I am not able to show myself in here because plenty of people want me dead, however, If I remember hearing you correctly, those wearing the green bandana have to help others wearing the green bandana when they are in need. While this is far from why I joined, I would appreciate your opinion on this matter. I can only stay invisible for so long, but should I come out of hiding now, or wait for a safer place?"

After writing this, Cammy pushed the pen and the napkin over to Mia and waited for her written answer.

The napkin was read quickly as she turned her eyes, as if staring off into space, but rather directly into Cammy's eyes.

You don't have to worry to much, theres enough of us to deter even the most dangerous of bounty hunters at this point.

The words flowed strait from the ice elf's mind to that of the chameleon, hopefully not startling the cautious member to which she had yet to actually “see”. With that said the ice elf held out her hand to the illusive lass reassuringly.

[Camella]

Camella was extremely startled by Mia's Telepathic message, but the point did get across to her nonetheless. Finally turning visible again, it was plain to see that the chameleon girl wasn't too shy about her looks. She was wearing only a green bra and green panties, as anything else would end up being too loose to go invisible with her. After making herself comfortable, Cammy looked straight at Mia and finally spoke up.

"Thank you for understanding my situation. Now, about these adventures, you got any lined up at the moment?"

[Heart of Zaga]

Zaga slashed his face from the beer and set a grave stare upon an empty space, glaring as if the devil himself had transformed into vapor to stalk the swiftly-born group. Selene could not help but noticing that, who would later introduce herself as Mia, had set hew own eyes upon the same empty slot of air.

The ice-cold mug slipped from her grasp as the slim figure of a woman, a half-naked one, faded into existence before her eyes. She already wore the same bandana Selene had fastened around Zaga’s arm, one she now wore around her own as well. However, aside from the bandana, undergarments where the only thing that covered the poor girl’s body!

Before Mia had a chance to respond to her idle question Selene stood up, and opened her fan to hide her discomfort.
“Zaga-“ She muttered, in a grim tone. “come-“

In likewise situations, Zaga would have responded with a slight peevish and another cute whining chime. This time he could only frown as he set down the mug that had kept him entertained so far. The tone of her mistress was one too harsh as to be reckoned with. He stood, and on the leave of Selene, so did Zaga exit the festive tavern.

Outside in the street, two figures, A porcelain doll and a blonde male, disappeared under the shadow of an alley.

[Kell]

“I was wondering that myself...” the leopard purred as she stepped forward, eying the odd group through the irony of her own uniqueness.

Her heavy boots sounded as she approached the table from the bar, her tail flicking back and forth, stopping only for a moment as the Fae and girl exited the promenade. The long stick from a sucker hung from her mouth as she watched the small group, taking a longer moments interest in the plushie feline that moved as if it were a real cat.

What a group...

If these people were really like they said, maybe this was the way to get some real action and for that matter finally get the hell of this blasted island.

[MiaKane]

Mia was just about to answer when the dynamic duo cut out and left in what seemed to be a rather unexpected hurry.

Wonder whats up with them?

She then returned her attention to the group, “Uh, yeah, we actually have two missions lined up by the group we have back at base in Donnalich.” She took a drink of her beer before continuing “one is down in Fallien, the other is in Alerar and I'm sure that they will have some other leads to follow by the time we get back there.”

[Camella]

Camella frowned at the mention of Fallien. It was the one place in the world she promised hersel she would never return to.

"Heh, well I will definately take on the Alerar mission, but I'm a bit iffy on whether to take the Fallien one. I know the area extremely well, but..." Camella's voice trailed off into a whisper at this point.

"You see, that is where my bounty originated. I'm not saying I won't do it, just keep in mind that I'll have to remain hidden from view for almost the whole time, if I were to go." She said, finishing her sentence so onlythe people at the table could hear.

[Dallas Texas]

Decided to bunny Edward, to make life easier on myself.

I chuckled to myself, it just seemed too funny. Although there weren't many people here, I still knew more than any normal man should about almost everyone there.

"Just so you guys know, I'm not much of a fighter, but if it's info you need, I can probably provide you with some." I said, admitting my one fault and giving my major advantage away in one breath.

"Can you give me an example, please?" Edward asked me.

"Well, I know a lot more about most of the people here, thn you may realize." I replied.

"I highly doubt that you are any better than any other informant I could find, though." Edward said. I new he didn't mean any harm by it, and by all rights he should have been right, but this was me he was talking about, and I decided to take his challenge.

"Alright, first let me just state I know nothing about the people that just left and I know nothing about that girl over there" I said, pointing to Tsukiko.

"As for the rest of you let's see... Mia "The Raging Storm" Kane over there got her nickname from training during snowstorms. She was born in Salvar and raised by her sister, Seve." I paused and looked over at the leopard that had just shown up on the scene.

"Correct me if I am wrong, but you must be Kelsey Andrea Tesla, also known as Kell. I hear you once beat up a kid for taking candy from you, but hey, he had it coming, right? I also know about Slimey Jo. On a different topic, I'm sorry to say that I also know that you were a test subject for a military project. Speaking of test subjects..." I said, turning to Camella.

"You know what it is like to be tested on first hand, don't you? I mean you were once a slave girl until a mad doctor turned you into what you are today. I don't know who to feel more sorry for, you or the Chameleon. I also know the specifics of how you got your bounty in fallien, but Let's not get into that."

Finally I turned to Edward, I knew I had to tell him everything I knew about him to prove to him that I was better than most information gatherers, but I also knew that he wouldn't like it if I said it all out loud. Perhaps I could get him to realize what I knew a different way.

"Edward, you are a man shrouded in mystery by your own choosing. I know more about you than I think you would like me to tell. I think it would be better if I kept the secrets I know about you to myself." I said to him.

"Yeah, perhaps you are right. I'm not about to call that bluff, even though I don't see any way you possibly could know all that much about me." Edward replied after a pause.

"It's because I am an information gatherer."

[MiaKane]

There was only a pause before Mia could hold back no more, the laughter fell forth as she leaned back in her chair.

“D, that was just grand.” she could tell from the auras of those around her than suddenly no one felt comfortable, their secrets clearly out on the table “I never said that everyone had to be a warrior type, or anything for that matter. Everyone is welcome here, even the run of the mill informants.”

she took another sip of her beer before lighting up a cig and taking a long draw “Well Cammy, thats always up to you, wherever you want to go is your own business.”

this is just my in character way of bringing the quest up. I already brought it up in the OOC League thread. Oh, and by the way the actual quest (Assuming people will sign up) will start about 2 weeks from now.

Edward looked at Mia and the others.

"Well, I suppose you guys will do. I actually have something that needs to be done here, but I don't think I can do it by myself. You see, there are two neighboring towns around here that used to be populated, but overnight they have been overrun by animals. So much so, in fact that I have my suspicions that the humans neither ran away nor did they get killed. I can't be sure yet, though. In any case, I need to know who is willing to help me out here." Edward suddenly said explaining the situation.

"If nothing else, I figure it would be a good warm-up."

[Heart of Zaga]

The doors of the tavern again swung open, Selene entered after a few minutes of absence, Zaga was no where to be seen. Selene held in her hands the cloak she had been wearing all this time. Had she gone outside only to take her cloak off?

"Now you must be cold," exclaimed Selene as she approached the woman who had appeared from the air, "please, wear this at least to keep the deprived eyes away."
Selene placed the garment in the table before her, hoping that the woman would accept to borrow it.

"Now what have I missed?" she continued, a vine smile coloring her face.

'What was the point of that?' Zaga thundered through their mental bond. 'It would have been more simple to let me be the cloak'

'Ha, as if I'd let you wrap around her body, you pervert!' Selene discretely hit the table with a ring that she had seem to have obtained while outside.

'Damn it all!' Zaga vociferated, 'what is the need for me to transform into this anyways!'

'Oh I mind my manners, I wouldn't take that cloak away from her if she where to accept. I figured that it would be better to suddenly pull a cloak from "under this dress" than to have a tall and blond fae poof into one.' She again thrusted the ring against the table as she tapped her finger, 'now hush and be quiet!'

[Camella]

And once again I am bunnying my own characters.

Camella took the cloak from off the table and put it on.

"Thanks. I was a bit cold, but you see, there is a very good reason why I only wear what I wear. As for what you missed, that guy over there seems to know everything about most of us, and that man in the cape just brought up a quest for us to do. Something to do with two neighboring cities being overrun with animals. We have been asked to investigate it. I'm not interested in a simple job like that though." Camella began.

Dallas interrupted at this point.

"Simple job? Edward would never come to us with a job that he could do himself. As for your reason for not wearing much other than your bra and panties, I perfectly understand it, but have you ever thought about a leotard? I'm sure that is closefitting enough for you to still turn it invisible along with your body, right?"

Camella looked over at Dallas. then back at Selene and Zaga.

"See what I mean? He knows everything about a lot of us. For some reason, though, he knows nothing about you guys. Which reminds me, Mister knowledge..." Camella said turning back to Dallas, "If you are so smart, mind telling me what we are dealing with on this mission Mister cape brought in."

"Sure. Knowing Edward, we are probably talking about a magical artifact that can turn people into animals or something like that. Am I close?"

Edward couldn't believe how much information Dallas knew, and the look of surprise on his face showed as he nodded.

Camella shook her head. "The amount of information that Dallas guy knows is beginning to freak me out..."
