View Full Version : Chidori Draconid - God in The Making

Chidori Draconid
06-20-06, 05:04 PM
Name: Chidori Astram Draconid
Age: 22
Race: Deity
Hair Color: Orchid Black
Eye Color: Starburst Grey
Height: 5’9
Weight: 150 lbs
Occupation: Meddler

Appearance: One usually cannot help but compare this man’s atmosphere to that of an exotic prince for in many ways he is one. His skin seems to be made of caramel that is carved into the smooth, muscular but flexible shape of this body, which looks more like that of a dancer’s body than that of a fighter. His long eyelashes give him a pseudo-feminine glow, but his wavy black hair is kept at short length to emphasize his masculinity.

Personality: Chidori is unusual in that not many people have the pleasure to experience his true personality. He is an actor at heart and cannot help but put on a diplomatic show when he sees fit, which is ninety percent of the time. The young deity is an admirer, with a natural affinity for useful traits in others, friend or enemy. Chidori has a hard time expressing anger in words, and understands that it is uncivilized to express them through physical means unless it is appropriate. Therefore when it is appropriate he promptly does so. The young deity will quickly admit to sometimes not acting his age as his motivations can be superficial and selfish.

History
”Chidori… Chidori. Wake up, son.”
Chidori Astram Draconid felt a slap on the right side of his face, which was followed by the sensation of bitter coldness. So this is what it felt like to be on the receiving end of a bucket of water. He had observed mortals all over the universe use a cup, can, or bucket of liquid to wake a lazy partner. Wonderful start to a mortal life, Chidori thought to himself.

”I refuse to wait for you.”
A female voice with such audacity could only be that of his mother or his wife, whom he doubted would be present for an occasion as lowly as this one. He lifted his eyelids, which seemed to be as heavy as anvils, and just as he could make out the constellations of his extensive family in the nighttime sky his face was once again slapped with water. This time his vision was distorted, and his tongue was punished with a heavy dose of liquid salt. He immediately sat up and spat the water out. It wasn’t a bucket. It was the ocean; although Chidori had no doubt that his mother had strategically placed him there. Now he could open his eyes, and the first thing he saw was the long golden beach that climbed up into the horizon. The night was warm until the ocean winds wrapped his naked body in a chilling cloak.

”Turn my way. Let me see you.”
Still in a state of shock, Chidori slowly turned around to see a woman just as tall as he, in a gown that seemed to glow like the nebulae in the sky as it hugged her body. Her eyes were kind and welcoming as the irises seemed to ignite like a pair of supernovas, and her long wavy black hair provided only a slightly distorted reflection of the star-studded sky above. She opened her arms and the dimples on her caramel face emerged as she smiled. Astri, nymph of the sky, and mother to this young deity held him in a long embrace. He could feel her divine energy pulsing inside him.
”Oh, Chidori, you’re beautiful.”
“Really?” Chidori paused at the sound of his own voice. He could appreciate the masculine baritone. “What do I look like?”
”You look like your mother’s son.”

Chidori assumed that was good since he considered the humanoid form of his mother to be good looking. Ever since his conception more than twenty years ago he had been frolicking along the ethereal planes as a low deity with no distinction, no cause, and nothing to symbolize or represent as his parents, Astri, Nymph of The Sky, and Draco, God of Dragons, created his mortal form. He would then earn his godly status in the mortal world just as his parents had.
”Phooey. Nymphs.” A dominating masculine voice came from the forest, and was followed by a great golden dragon. ”They think they’re so damned beautiful.”
Astri gave her husband a sarcastic chuckle. In their physical forms they were two very different creatures, but as gods they were just that, gods and one in the same, leaving them free to conceive him.

Astri glanced down at her son’s naked body. “You need clothes.”
“Allow me to contribute.” Draco said as he stepped forward and stared his son down. Seconds later millions of silk threads that seemed to have appeared out of thin air had woven themselves into beautiful black attire. His shoes and pants were light and loose, and the kurta tunic was graced with elegant and elaborate embroidery. The golden dragon dragged his claw deep into the beach sand to reveal a black cane with a strait silver head. As he picked it up Chidori noticed that it was decorated with the same patterns as the embroidery on his kurta tunic.
”That cane conceals a blade, which you will learn to use in my likeness.”
”So,” Astri said with a gentle smile, ”What do you plan on doing first?”
Chidori had no plan, and he expressed this through embarrassing silence. After a moment of quiet deliberation his mother gave him a light slap on the side of the head as the Nymph and the Dragon said in unison, ”You don’t have a plan?!”

Skills
Stellar Energy: On command Chidori can generate the divine essence of his mother. When uncontrolled it appears as a blue aura that radiates around him, but when focused it is hot plasma that can be manipulated in a variety of ways. For example he can use the Stellar Energy as a deadly projectile that does not give way to drag or lift, or he can wrap it around a limb or weapon to provide deadly heat to his hit. The is about all he can do with it right now, for his imagination and the risk of burning himself are his limits. At the moment the magnitude of this energy is in direct correlation to the size of the aura, which only radiates within his personal space. He couldn’t destroy six blocks of Radasanth with one attack, but with practice he might be able to incinerate anything within a ten foot radius of himself, but right now he'd burn himself in the process. The irises of his eyes seem to ignite like supernovas as he generates the energy.

Sword Cane: The sword cane is unique as Chidori can use it as a jo staff or jian sword. Like his father said, he has learned so far to use it in a dragon’s likeness. Strikes come fast, powerful, and usually from overhead like a dragon bite. Swings are wide and full of velocity like a tail swipe. Since Chidori is smaller than the average Althanas male, he must resort to intercepting attacks, and simultaneous parrying and striking as makeshift defensive measures.

Dragon Tongue: Chidori can communicate with more intelligent dragons in their native language if they do not know common tongue (which is not likely), and he possesses natural empathy with the animalistic dragons. He cannot command dragons or manipulate their will.

Equipment
Sword Cane: This walking cane is 35" overall, with a 32 1/2" steel mirror polished sword blade fitted neatly inside the cane. It features brushed silver fittings and O-ring seals to keep the handle locked in position while walking. The blade is easily ejected with the twist of the handle. Both the cane and the blade feature elaborate bohemian patterns that match the embroidery on Chidori’s clothing.

Familiars: His mother and father, who are clearly very powerful, but don’t worry I’m not using them for tactical purposes.

He couldn’t destroy six blocks of Radasanth with one attack, but with practice he might be able to incinerate anything within a ten foot radius of himself.

With a declaration like that, I need to know what he can do at level zero. Keep in mind his power can grow in quests and level ups, so starting small is not as bad as it might seem.

My own character began only being able to snuff the light from candles and is now a much more versatile mage.

Don't powergame that skill and we're good.

Approved.

(Welcome. Have fun on Althanas.)
