Solo.
The object ripped through volatile mesosphere, and the late evening horizon was light yet again, if only for a fleeting moment. Even at that great height conflagrant chunks could clearly be seen torn from the hurtling bolide to follow a close distance behind, soon incinerated and lost forever within the flaming hands of aggravated ram pressure. This was certainly the largest object to be spotted scarring the region's vastly uninterrupted sky in many months, and the last had been but a mere rock.

Heated wind hissed as the object, now having erupted into a dreadfully bright fireball that engulfed every identifying clue, continued on it's suicidal descent through the planet's atmosphere, trailing a fiery white banner that marked it's path for all to witness. The barren land rose hungrily to greet the missile in steadily increasing definition, revealing unimpressive brown hillocks choked with shallow ravines and smears of dry scrub forest to become dark slurs in the object's speeding wake. In another second, it blew through the crest of the closest summit before striking a final time deep into the sparsely forested meadow below.

Only long after the echoes from the messy impact dispersed and the crickets and night animals restored their songs did the charred, vaguely triangular remains of whatever had shattered the peace that cool night stir.
