My main PC, my desktop, has just exploded. This means that I won't be able to post as often as I'd like to since I abhor this laptop's keyboard and I can't type well on it. Sorry to Yggy and Ed, but I'll try posting as soon as I can.

Yes, laptops are truly the most evil of creatures.

When your PC dies like that, its usually a good incentive to purchase a faster and stronger PC ^_^, oh well, crap like that happens, at least you haven't got a broken arm or leg.

that would suck

...EHHH~?!

I'm sorry to hear what happened to your desktop, Forgotten-chan. I hope you get a new one soon. (One that could play games like that new Battlefield game, perhaps?) ^^

well, my deskie is pretty good, but I could use an upgrade. It may be old, but I've customized that thing to no end. I can occasionally use the family's desktop when my mom's not on it, so I'll do my best to post there. Sorry for making you wait, Yggy!

I use a 2008 Windows XP Hp Laptop, they are good and fast. Seventeen inchers have the entire keyboard, if that's what's bugging you. But yeah, I do all my work on this here baby.

Trying getting one of these if you can, they are faster than even reg. computers and portable too, bwahahahaha. I think the fifteen inchers go for about 500 dollah these days, but I'm not sure.

Thing is, I don't like laptops. I can't stand the touchpads and I can't be bothered to carry around a USB mouse and pad instead.

You still owe me a thread.

I hate the touch pad too, which is why I bought a separate mouse for mine. I carry my stuff in a traveling bag, so...meh. But if it really bothers you that much, I understand. I'd rather have this here laptop, however, than the old piece of crap my parents use.

When you live a life of mobility, adaptation is a necessity.

The small keyboard and touchpad does come up as definite issues, though. *Has master'd the Touchpad use with his right thumb, thus not really bothered by it*

But I would rather recommend a desktop instead. Easier to upgrade than laptops when the tech level goes up, Nyan. :p

Owwww~! Sorry~! X__X

Hope things go well for you, Forgotten. ^_^

Touchpads are annoying for the first couple of days, but I find they're much less cumbersome than mice. I've fought with so many mice for so long...and if they get anything in them, they never cooperate again...not so for the touchpad. Although...sometimes, like any piece of technology, they do get tetchy.

Just not as often as the scrollbar. Ugh.

Anyway, come back soon.

I suggust an Alienware computer, should you find yourself with 10,000 extra dollars to blow on bleeding edge technology, since you prefer desktops to Laptops.

Wanna see an Alienware? Build one and wish you could buy it? go here:
www.alienware.com

I say 10,000 because by the time I'm done with customization, they are that expensive, if not more.

I completely agree. Everything is more than 2x the cost for laptop components and poor KOS-MOS is going to need a full OS reinstall, a C: reformat, (Out of C: G: and H:) an upgraded video card, and a new motherboard and processor. I may have to sell MOMO to U-Tic for the cash to buy that stuff. They're the only ones that would pay enough for her.

Plus I need a job.

In an interesting turn of events, it seems that my dear KOS-MOS has fixed her most serious errors while powered down and MOMO has caught the bug now. While I am happy that my desktop is back and functional again, it's sad to see my lappy go down at the same time.

I suspect the source lies in internet lifestyle!

I suggest clicking on familar links cautiously.

I may say this in jest, but it's still somewhat plausible.

I suspect your laptop got raped.
I suggest you give your laptop a condom.
I don't say this in jest. Its very plausible.

But in all seriousness, glad to hear your back on your desktop, although I support laptops like desperate housewives.

I have never liked sex jokes.
I suggest you not use them in my threads.
I do not say this in jest, it's very true.

I know what caused the problem, the only thing is that I am unable to fix it.

Winterhair

Pffsha! Blasphemy.
Why are you unable to fix it? Money, time, or what?

AdventWings

Dude, if you own a laptop you'd know how hard to get them fixed. It's not something a mechanic can do on his spare time.

:(

Also, sex jokes get old after the first two times it's been used.

Winterhair

My mechanic did it on HIS spare time. ;) And hey, that means I've still got one left before its expiration date! Yessssss.

Actually, I know this guy named Doug who builds laptops for a living, and he repairs mine some time. Seriously, the laptops he makes are like...supercomputers. They're that good. He sells them for around 500-1000 each, pretty decent.

Well, sure. At your place.

Think of the other people who still lives on farm, please. :(

And not everyone lives next to a super-computer builder. The computers in my country cost almost as much as a regular salaryman's entire yearly wage. (Yes, it really is a pretty low-tech country.)

...Oh, yeah. And I'm the only person allowed to feed the troll, peeps. (j/k)

Aye. Thanks for the back up Raven.

The problem lies in the fact that the Lsass.exe file has become corrupted. This is a very important file. I cannot login to the computer to fix it because it reboots before the welcome screen shows up. I cannot use the recovery console because, wouldn't you know, lsass.exe also controls the password store and the administrator password is corrupt now as well.

To fix it, I need a cable to hook the HDD up to my desktop where I can replace that file. I do not have the cable, and my dad wants me to wait on buying one so he can borrow one from work.

Not even your genius friend could fix this thing without that cable OR without a clean install of Windows. So as much as I salute the fact that you live next to someone who can help, please don't assume everyone does.

I'm not assuming--but if you would like, I could ask what he suggests, but a) that's pretty obvious what he would do, and b) I don't think it matters to you all that much. c: And I'm just a troll because someone has to be one, or we'd all start being nice to each other. Gasp, oh the horror.
In any case, at least you have your desktop back, which you liked better than said top of lap in the first place. Any idea how the file became corrupted, however?
