It was a strong wind that blew through the streets, a strong wind that gave the customer walking through the door some degree of difficulty even getting in, due to the wind's desire to blow the door off it's hinges and run away playing with it.

The Customer at last got in the shop and managed to close the door.

He looked up, and around.

"Where did she go?" he asked.

He looked at all the fine clothes for sale in the women's clothing shop.

Xos tapped his foot impatiently.

"I tell you that woman gets distracted by the simplest of things. Why five minutes ago we were in a jewelery shop looking at diamonds. What fascination she has such gaudy things I'll never know." He complained to no one in particular. He wasn't really complaining, he just felt out of place in a women's clothing shop, and didn't want anyone to think he was the sort to enjoy wearing women's clothes himself.

"Finally", Xos said as his companion came to the doorway.

Valanthe finally came to the door, right as the wind died down, so it was easy enough for her to open the door and slip in. She eyed all the clothes in the store, but the first thing to catch her eye was the rose in the glass vase on the counter. It was faded and wilting, unable to sustain itself without it's roots any longer, however as she approached the rose immediatly perked up, became vibrantly colorful again and started emitting it's pleasant perfume again.

At her heels was her sister and constant companion, moonbeam, an Eastern Timberwolf. The wolf pranced all around Valanthe in a playful mood.

"I saw the must beautiful butterfly and just had to follow it before it flew over a building and disappeared." Valanthe said whimsically. She sauntered off to the clothes. It was obvious why she was here, the white dress she wore was practically falling apart, for it was in bad shape and in need of repairs. As the shop owner looked, it actually fell apart even further, but the woman didn't seem to mind, almost as if she knew it wasn't going to last forever.

"Now don't get impatient Xos, it might take a few moments. I want the dress I dreamed of, it was green, and had Gold Trim. I was holding a rod of some sort, and a gold sphere, though I don't know why. But I want that dress, you promised to buy it for me." Valanthe said.

OOC: For the dress, see my Avatar Pic, if you need it in a larger size, I can arrange it for you.

Xos continued to tap his foot impatiently.
"And what if they don't have it? You need something other than what you almost don't have on. That dress is falling apart, it won't exist much longer, and I will NOT have my new wife running around without a stitch of clothing on showing all to the world." Xos said in a state of ire. He took to pacing the floor.

"Don't you dare suggust laying around with Moonbeam infront of you either, that simply will not do." Xos said.

It was appearent they had two different notions of decency.

Xos stared hard at the shopkeeper, waiting for her to come over and get Valanthe into something more decent. If his foot had been tapping any faster, he would've achieved lift off.

Lilian was simply at a loss for words as she silently watched the exchanges between the newly-arrived customers. Despite the store being opened for almost two years, she had yet to find a more lively - and disarming - group as this.

"Umm... Yes! Ah, I mean, I'm sorry. I'm not sure if we have a dress exactly as you described. However, we may have something similar. Please wait one moment..."

The store keeper let out a nervous laugh, trying her best not to let the malfunctioning wardrobe from distracting from her job. It was not like Lilian was into that sort of hobby. No~ way.

"Well, how about this dress?"

She reappeared shortly, holding a dark-green robe with trims of golden leaves. The cloth was of a heavy cotton fabric, making the hood slightly rigid if the wearer was careful with how to flour it.

Valanthe took the dress, and stepped back to the changing room.

"Oh my." she exclaimed softly. steeping out, one could see why. It fit half-wood elf half drow perfectly, almost as if it were made for her.

It felt so wonderful against her skin, her eyes shone brightly, as she fingered it delicatly.
"Oh Xos, it's perfect." she said. She left the hood down.

Xos went over and embraced Valanthe.
"It looks wonderful on you dear." He said kissing her on the cheek.

He turned to the shopkeeper.
"So, I guess that brings us to the big question, how much?" Xos asked.

AdventWings

"Ummm, that would be two hundred and twenty gold pieces."

Lilian murmured as she flipped through the catalogue, double-checking the price to make sure she was not overcharging them.

"Yep. Two hundred and twenty."

Xos

"Alright, alright, but, do you have it in something, stronger? I'd be most upset if dangerous happened to cross her path whilst she was out in the less civilised areas of the world." Xos asked.

"Or, better yet, a suggustion of something protective to wear underneath it?" Xos asked.

Valanthe

"But not metal, unless it's mythril, I don't like being weighed down." Valanthe said.

Moonbeam let out a yawn in the corner, displaying all of her sharp, lovelty pearly whites in the process.

Lilian gave the trio a thoughtful look before giving them her suggestion.

"Well, I suppose Vlince would be what you're looking for if you're want stronger fabric... Although I'll have to order that made to tailor, since we don't usually produce them in bulk. If you're willing to wait for a week, I can have a robe made identical to the one you're wearing now for only six hundred gold pieces."

After all, expensive materials would require only the best of cut clothes. No one would want to waste expensive fabric on items that could not find a buyer.

Valanthe

"Vlince, sounds good to me. Xos, what do you think?" Valanthe asked Xos while she headed back in to change back to her worn white dress.

Xos

"I think that dress better last that long, that's what I think." Xos said.
He reached into his pockets, and pulled out Gold coins. Setting six hundred's worth on the counter, he turned and motioned for Valanthe to follow him.

"We'll be back." Xos said.

And true to his word, he was back in exactly one week. By pure chance it was preciesly one week down to the very last second.

This time, Valanthe was under his robe with him.

"As we've discovered, magically summoned dresses do not last very long if not properly summoned, or summoned in an off-hand kind of way. Though perhaps Omnisource had another purpose in mind when he gave her such a short lasting dress." Xos said.

Valanthe shot out of his robes and into the changing room. Her dress literallty fell off her as she ran.

"It was of remarkably poor quality." Valanthe said, as she waited for the dress.

Lilian wasted no time bringing out the dress to her customer from the very instance the two bursted into the store. In her haste she almost forgot to catch the door so it would not slam out of its frame.

"Here you are." She held out the dress out next to the changing room. To a casual glance, it was no different from the heavy cotton robe from last week. But if one were to test the cloth against a blade, there was no doubt the fabric was that of Vlince.

As she stepped out of the changing room, Valanthe's eyes held the same shine of delight they did when she wore the cotton dress.

As she stepped out, the most amazing thing happened to her old dress, it vaporized on the spot, leaving no trace of what it once was behind.

"I love it, and it's just in time too. I've been dreaming of a large red forest. I've heard of one, somewhere. Something's calling me, I need to go there. I don't know why, but I must go, alone, with only my sister for company." Valanthe said.

This one felt even better. The dress already payed for, she waited by the door.

"Thank you. Xos, you coming, or did you want a dress?" Valanthe asked, smiling.

Xos
06-18-08, 09:02 AM
"Yes, I've always wanted to wear a pick flowing dress while I cavorted about singing how I feel pretty, oh so pretty." Xos said sarcasticly.

He moved toward the door.

"I trust you'll remember it was payed for last week." Xos said. He moved out, and shut the door behind him and Valanthe, forgetting moonbeam.

Moonbeam scratched at the door, they forgot about her.

She looked at the shopkeeper, a sad look in her eyes.
How could they forget her?

She sat down, pointed her nose at the sky, and let out a long drawn out beautiful howl that could've easily echoed through any forest or mountain range.

Valanthe returned and opened the door.

"Well come on. I thought you'd already run out into the street." valanthe said. Moonbeam darted out of the shop and into the street.

"Bye." Valanthe said, wiggling her fingers at the shopkeeper. as she closed the door.

"How could you leave my sister in there?" she shouted at Xos as they walked down the street.

An interesting couple indeed.

Lilian merely stood there at the doorway, chuckling half-heartedly as the odd couple left with their little pet.

Well, I guess I'm supposed to say "Please come again" or something...

Shaking her head as she realized they wouldn't be able to hear her above the din of the Bazaar anyway, the tailor retreated back into her shop to prepare for the remainder of the day.
