Prologue
He didn't know where he was, or what he was doing exactly, but Calx knew that he was in the middle of something important.
The previous day, the golem had been wandering the forest of Concordia for a countless number of days, forgetting that he was released as a failed experiment from somewhere in Concordia just a year ago. Not a necessarily haunting memory, for the necromancer that had attempted to create this golem bodyguard wasn't an evil character. In truth, the necromancer Gil Gamesh only began to study necromancy in hopes of actually helping people, bringing them back to life when they died. It wasn't really the best choice of magic for helping people, but Gil wasn't the smartest guy. Calx didn't remember the details, but someday he hoped that he could find his creator, a hope lying somewhere deep in his simple brain.
As of now, though, Calx had been temporarily "adopted" by a trio of adventurers who were wandering the forest of Concordia to find something. A half-elf druid, Maruna, a dwarf warrior, Hegnar (the original two that found the golem) and a human ranger, Parissus. Parissus seemed to be the most concerned with the task, perhaps hiring the other two to help him. Nonetheless, he seemed to be the most emotionally involved. They shortly discussed the plan on the previous night, planning to use Calx as a distraction (maybe an intervention?) the next day, something involving a dragon and some orcs, terms that the golem was not familiar with.
Now he could only wait. He was interested in the group of adventurers, never really seeing anything like them in his short life. He wanted to know more, his mind like a sponge.
He didn't know how good of a fighter he was, though...
