Would be unable to reproduce anything shown here. Mostly due to the use of an incompatible medium, but that's a technicality.

Here's a picture of a shark's approval to get you started!

Only partly by me.

So.

One of the many reasons why I'm such a slow poster is because I procrastinate in a very specific manner, i.e. by drawing a series of gingerbread men that eventually look nothing like gingerbread men, but more like rocking-horse people traveling in purple submersibles.

Considering I've just smoked the mushroom on my head, I got the bright idea that showcasing these brainfarts would be as funny as eating grapes by reverse peristalsis. I also walk funny now.

Here they are, with useless commentary!

Older

Goddess[Nudity] (http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h158/Necathys/Delimentai.jpg) - A commission I did for a friend on another forum. Never completed it, but it was good practice for basic anatomy. Also, nudes, har har.

Angel (http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h158/Necathys/AngelTV.jpg) - Same forum, but it's artwork for one of the races. I tried a less static pose and to play a teensy bit more with perspective, though not very succesfully. Also, no nudes. Boo.

Lar'K'leth (http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h158/Necathys/LarKLethTV.jpg) - Same as above. Ooh, but she's half-naked, and has tattoos. She's a Harley short of a biker chick.

Elf (http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h158/Necathys/Kaylith002.jpg) - Yes, she's anorexic. Yes, it's because she's an elf.

Tarot Star (http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h158/Necathys/Tarot4.jpg) - This is pretty old, from a Tarot Card remake period. I remember the Sun card involved the Baby Sun from the Teletubbies, with Hitler's mustache. Yeah.

Tarot Empress and Tarot Death (http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h158/Necathys/Tarot3.jpg) - Same vein. Death was also the basis for the character who eventually became Lillian. Oh, and Justice was a dwarf. I really don't know why.

Alicia Base (http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h158/Necathys/Alicia002.jpg) Alicia Draft (http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h158/Necathys/Alicia004.jpg) Alicia Pencil (http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h158/Necathys/Aliciapencilfinal.jpg) - A friend's character. He praised her breastage a lot.

Some Angel (http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h158/Necathys/Angel1Cropped.jpg) - I drew a lot of these. I apologize for that cutesy style.

Some Angel 2 (http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h158/Necathys/Angel2Cropped.jpg) Original (http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h158/Necathys/CereGray.jpg) - More.

Some Angel 3 (http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h158/Necathys/Angel3Cropped.jpg) - Lightly inspired by Wen-M.

Some Angel 4 (http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h158/Necathys/Angel4Cropped.jpg) - She's actually in an elevator.

Some Angel 5 (http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h158/Necathys/Angel5Cropped.jpg) - A very old character, and one of my favorites.

Some Angel 6 (http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h158/Necathys/Angel6Cropped.jpg) - Don't worry, this is the last angel.

Some Devil (http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h158/Necathys/Tarot5-unedited.jpg) Some Devil Cleaned (http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h158/Necathys/Tarot5Edited.jpg) - Ha. Ha ha. He's an upcoming NPC.

It's her again! (http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h158/Necathys/Helena.jpg) - I liek it. Do u liek it?

Human Mage (http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h158/Necathys/HumanTV.jpg) - Ugh, a guy. Do not want.

Beast (http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h158/Necathys/BeastTV.jpg) - Hm, a minotaur... Intrigued.

Lillian (http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h158/Necathys/LillianArtwork-1.jpg) - My second rendition of Lillian. The first one looking nothing like her, which isn’t surprising as it was drawn in chemistry. I was told the pose in this was static, dead and basically uninteresting. It made me sad, oh so sad.

Lillian 2 (http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h158/Necathys/Lilliancorrection3.jpg) - A third rendition, in a different style. The eyes are a bit too high, I know. I prefer this more realistic version and livelier pose. Also: lookit, a background!

These are all a few months (if not years) old, but I'm working on new character artwork. Hopefully there'll be some improvement by then!

So, you can draw Tessalations like Escher did? Cool. I love Thessalation style artwork.

Nautilus
07-09-08, 04:13 PM
I love all the little details you put in your work. ^^ Very cool.

Winterhair
07-09-08, 05:01 PM
1) Love them. And the fact that you like Wen-M's stuff gives you an A+ in my book. Your artistry is amazing.
2) Do you do requests? :D

Twill
07-09-08, 05:01 PM
Woah, nice shading on the clothes and hair.

Ataraxis
07-09-08, 05:13 PM
Escher's a good drinking buddy of mine. Yes, is.

Thanks a lot! It's nothing like what Massacre could do, but I'm working to get there.

And I do requests, only not in the way that I'll want to shoot myself after a while.

I'm taking on the next three people who express their interest!

Irene
07-09-08, 05:18 PM
I want one of Irene! I don't know of any good full color pictures of her, unique racial backround.

Godhand
07-09-08, 05:18 PM
You know what I want.

Artifex Felicis
07-09-08, 05:35 PM
I'm gonna have to ask for one of Maia. You know.

Actually, speaking of which, you still want to finish that thread?

Winterhair
07-09-08, 05:46 PM
Ah, sonovabitch. Of course I gotta be numba fo'. Ah well. If you get time after doing those three, draw me a Vincent Winterscar while your at it, 'kay?

Arsène
07-09-08, 06:18 PM
I can delete the last three posts and put myself first in line.

Don't make me use my dark, dark powers.

Slayer of the Rot
07-09-08, 08:57 PM
How about one of me?

Godhand
07-09-08, 09:10 PM
To clarify, I don't want a picture of Godhand because I'm not some sort of faggot that wanks his miniscule cock to character art. And DON'T fucking post after me saying "yeah, you don't need any help to wank your miniscule cock". I'm watching you, faggots.

How about Sammy Davis Jr., Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin staggering drunkenly down the sunset strip at night?

Winterhair
07-09-08, 09:23 PM
*moans* Character art aaahhhh...
If you could, Ataraxis, draw Vincent not as he's pictured in my albums but in a desert cloak with a claymore on his back and katana at his side. Thank joo.

Arsène
07-09-08, 09:56 PM

No Joey Bishop?

That guy was a fucking fringe.

07-10-08, 02:57 AM
That's some awesome stuff, especially Angel 6 and the minotaur. They make me hot.

No requests. Just needed to say that.

Jenn wants a Kahlina pic, though.

Mithra Reborn
07-10-08, 04:33 AM
okay, i'm gonna put my name in the hat, and pray for a request. I am currently using a picture from dA(crediting the creator) for my ID, but I'd rather have one that was created for me. You are an amazing artist. I don't see how you do the clothing so well. and that harp. oh mah gawd. I wants. xD

Ataraxis
07-10-08, 10:18 AM
Xos, I'll manage... something for your summoner. Unless you don't want her to be pretty, in which case I'll just give her an orcish overbite, dwarven breastage, fish eyes and gnome thighs.

And man, you had to change your comission by the time I swung around the CE? That's one half-draft of Sinatra/Puma Suplex that will never see the day. Still, you will get whatyou asked for.

Arti, of course I want to continue that quest! In fact, I think I said that in either Oren's art thread or your return thread. Oh, and it's your turn to post, by the by! As for the artwork, well there's this little draft of Maia (http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h158/Necathys/MaiaKristelPshopedDraft.jpg) I began that you should remember. I'll try and find the original to finish it, otherwise I'll just start it anew.

Thank you Jas, the minotaur did make a lot of men and women juice themselves. And thanks Mithra, that harp was the single hardest instrument I ever had to draw, and I want it too.

And to everyone who asked for something: you guys just broke my system.

But your requests are taken. Don't expect to see them quite so soon, though!

Irene
07-10-08, 10:30 AM
I want Irene to be seen for the unique individual she is, beautiful, but rather unusual to look at.

Ataraxis
07-10-08, 10:40 AM
That was what I was going for. Don't mind the gnome thighs!

And here's some elevator music (http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h158/Necathys/GuardianoftheWell-1.jpg) to keep you guys occupied. Just a little draft of one of the creatures I'll eventually write about in something I've arrogantly decided to call the Sesthali Mythos.

Kially Gaith
07-11-08, 07:52 PM
Perhaps I could somehow bribe you to take a shot at drawing Kially? By the way, I enjoyed your Angel 1 ('Cutesy') so much that I happened to save it to my computer, I know a friend who'd adore the picture.

I also found myself saving the human mage one, as that is quite a good deal like Kially, just more lethal looking, not to mention it's a bad ass picture. <3

The minotaur one, I found myself most impressed with, not many people can draw halfling creatures such as that with such excellent detail and accuracy.

Bravo!

Godhand
07-12-08, 09:17 AM
And man, you had to change your comission by the time I swung around the CE? That's one half-draft of Sinatra/Puma Suplex that will never see the day. Still, you will get what you asked for.

Screw that; if you think you can draw the suplex then go for it.

Ataraxis
07-12-08, 12:04 PM
Well I took my time with the Minotaur, though most of the shading didn't show on that picture since I had trouble adjusting lighting levels back then. Still, thank you for the compliment! And, as an added note, Angel 1 was for some sort of contest a few years back, so it's not an original character of mine.

In any case, back to business!

Well Xos, here's Irene, with a little (well, not so little) bonus!

http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h158/Necathys/IreneSaaustuShadedCleanedcopy.jpg

Here's the draft (http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h158/Necathys/IreneSaaustuDraft.jpg) and the unedited/shaded version (http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h158/Necathys/IreneSaaustuShaded.jpg).

07-12-08, 12:32 PM
hey those are really good, I really like the style.

do you think you could draw Wren for me? that'd be awesome and thanks for reading this^^

Winterhair
07-12-08, 12:51 PM
Holyshitnitzonastickz.
Your gewd.

Valanthe
07-12-08, 02:16 PM
Hey woman, those are pretty fricken awesome! If I had money I'd donate heavily to the cause their that good!
However, I'm flat broke, so my eternal gratitude will have to suffice, at least I hope it will.
That, or, a quest.
(I'm also Xos and Irene, for those who didn't know.)

Ataraxis
07-12-08, 07:45 PM
Thanks you three, and Reiko, I will when I clear out this request backlog! And Xos, a quest would only make me draw slower! Then again I'm not getting paid in any material form for this, so.

I should probably make a list...

1. Godhand/Sinatra/Puma
2. Maia
3. Winterhair
4. Arsène
5. Slayer of the Rot
6. RumpleGrumblePuss
7. Mithra Reborn
8. Kially Gaith
9. Arcanafang

I wonder, how did I triple the limit I imposed myself?

Irene
07-12-08, 07:47 PM
Your just that good.

Godhand
07-12-08, 07:49 PM
Good luck navigating the fucking slog that is character art from now until the day you die.

Arsène
07-12-08, 07:55 PM
I can delete those other requests, baby. Just say the word.

Ataraxis
07-12-08, 08:05 PM
Alright, I give!

Breasticles.

I could probably kill the slog by drawing every character on Althanas and keeping them as backups. And only one picture per player.

Or I could shoot you all.

I like that.

Srsly.

Winterhair
07-12-08, 10:56 PM
What a turn on. Slog. Mmmmmmm.
Coupla' additions to my request;
a) Could you add in Samantha as well, standing off to the side of Vince or behind him? Just picture a dark-haired sexy momma with two scimitars at her hips and yer gewd.
b)...and have Vincent holding a rifle in his left hand while he has his katana in his right and his claymore on his back. Thanx you'z.
I only make said requests so I can later masturbate to character art. You know how it gets me goin'.

Kially Gaith
07-13-08, 11:39 AM
I'm honored that you'd consider me for art, thank you. Don't suppose there's anything in particular (That Godhand WOULDN'T sugguest) that I could do for you?

Godhand
07-14-08, 10:01 AM
Actually, I'd like something a little different this time. I'd like a picture like this (http://images.encyclopediadramatica.com/images/3/33/Gentlemen.jpg), only instead of the spy from team fortress it's the Macho Man Randy Savage. And instead of a bunch of cigarettes in his mouth, it's a bunch of intercontinental championships. And at the bottom, write "Macho Men" in the same font and size as the first one.

Yes. That would be good.

Ataraxis
07-14-08, 10:51 AM
Do you... want me to roll those belts?

In other news, the drafts for Maia and the Sinatra/Puma are complete. Details and shading should be done by tomorrow or the day after that. I've also began work in Winterhair's commission.

Edit: Additions taken into account, Winterhair, and Kially, it's really okay. I actually do enjoy drawing, despite all the false bellyaching you've seen. You don't have to do anything for me - unless you can mail me some professional art supplies, which is always welcome.

Godhand
07-14-08, 11:10 AM
Nah, just make them miniature belts.

Ataraxis
07-14-08, 11:16 AM
So what, they hang out of his mouth like stiff bats? Surreal.

Since it's only a head, it shouldn't take too long.

Awesome!

Why is it the first time I've seen this?

*looks at pictures*

*looks at own artwork*

Fuck.

Damn, you have some skills with shading, for me to do something like that would take me a week of shading only. Maybe a day if I happen to have a nice edge in my lead.
Which reminds me. What kind of paper are you using, and what kind of pencil? I am just guessing a mechanical pencil but I think I am very much wrong.

I've been trying to regain my illustrating skills for a while and they just wont budge, that's why I've been having so much trouble with Arsene's I might just have to start it all over again, and hopefully I wont run into his dark dark powers in the near future.

I really like.

Ataraxis
06-30-09, 12:09 PM
Almost a year late reply to an inactive person, but yeah: normal 8 1/2"x11" Domtar paper and 0.5 mechanical pencil, though I also use Staedtler Mars Lumograph graphite pencils sometimes.

-

Alright, so:

I figured I'd resurrect this today on account of it's Witchblade's birthday and I have this wee little present that's been waiting in my portfolio for who knows how long, which I decided to finish yesterday. It's not super-detailed, but I enjoy the sketchy look at times.

http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h158/Necathys/Witchblade-DetailedSketch300DPiCrop.jpg

Happy birthday, Megan!

-

I've also got detailed sketches of Raelyse and Veatrix, even though they're not in the backlog of requests. I figured I'd have fun drawing them for the sake of drawing them. Didn't know what to do with Vea's wings, though, so that's the only thing that's left to complete. I'll upload them and post them afterwards.

Witchblade
06-30-09, 06:02 PM
That drawing is awesome!

I think you just kicked my artist skill's ass in. o.o

Ataraxis
06-30-09, 08:05 PM
Haha, glad you like it Megan! It's all about the half-exposed breastage.

Though, she was going to be topless. Then I gave her a corset. Then I was sad. Then I cut open the corset, and everything was right again!

And I'd have drawn the Rotslayer bigger, but the paper was too small.

Arsène
06-30-09, 08:30 PM
Are you people necrophiliacs? Why in god's green name would you be turned on by dead-chick-tits?!

Maia
06-30-09, 08:52 PM
An excellent drawing good mate. It's glad to see that you've been keeping your artsy skills up while I have been away.

Especially when they are being put to such great use.

Ataraxis
06-30-09, 09:13 PM
It ain't necrophilia till she stops a-movin'. And yes, yourrequest is coming along quite nicely, Cory.

Thanks Colin! And I've also sketched Maia, should have something to show you soon.

And here are the other impromptu character sketches I've drawn:

Raelyse! (And a lighter version of him here (http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h158/Necathys/Raelyse-DetailedSketch300DPiCrop-1.jpg))

http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h158/Necathys/Raelyse-DetailedSketch300DPiCropped.jpg

And Veatrix Bane!

Awesome sketches, Atty.

Here's another sketch - with funky perspective! Hope you like it, Cory.

Arsene Laurent!

Extremely nice, though the last thing he needs is another thing to stoke his smoldering lust for HIMSELF. OH THE VANITY!

Arsène

Facebook quizzes told me Vanity is my deadliest sin.

Excellent.

Visla Eraclaire

Pride, technically.

Arsène

Pride, technically.

...Stalker!

I just love the bent perspective. It gives the picture such an uneasy, morose, but calm feeling.

Ataraxis
07-01-09, 07:56 PM
Thanks for the kind words! And there's always a measure of projected narcissism when it comes to this kind of deal, but that's not a bad thing.

Well, it probably is for him. He's not a nice person. Gosh, the things you'd do for a klondike bar, Cory.

And I considered adding rain for the morose bit, but figured that was excessive and I was too lazy to go through with it anyway.

Visla Eraclaire
07-01-09, 08:05 PM
I think that was a good choice. He looks plenty mopey as it is. He's got scraggly hair with a downcast gaze and a fucking violin. Any more sadness and it would be genuinely over the top.

Also, I think there would be a greater danger of Cory printing it out for untoward purposes. Not that I doubt that's happening anyway

Raelyse
07-02-09, 07:41 AM
Beautiful renditin of Althanas' sexiest man. The brown paper just makes it look that much more regal and just generally cooler looking.

Additionally, I know wish I had finished my thread with Veatrix.

Ataraxis
07-02-09, 07:53 AM
Vis, if Cory doesn't make it into a poster, I'll be very sad.

Yeah, that was the main reasons I chose to switch to yellowish-beige paper, on top of it not blinding me like white paper when I flash my lamp on it. Glad to hear you like it!

And I do realize he sports one more sword than he actually has in the picture (two sheathes plus the sword cane) but I figure Raelyse might just get a third sword for the heck of it.

Also glad you like Vea's sketch - it's good to know it can induce that kind of regret. I'm guessing it might have something to do with the Liv Tyler look in her eyes?

Alydia Ettermire
07-02-09, 07:59 AM
Personally, I like how delicate your work is in the details.

Ataraxis
07-02-09, 03:41 PM
Thanks Karu. It's basically the best part about drawing these pictures, for me.

And a bit of an intermission, as I've run into a bit of a time snag for my other incognito requests. I've taken quick pictures of some pencil artwork and a sculpture I've done in a, you've guessed it, arts and sculpture class a couple of years back. Fits in the whole monkeys being unable to reproduce it with a typewriter theme, too. Well, arguably.

First up is what I called the Nuclear Egg, which I carved from a nigh rock-solid block of plaster poured into a milk carton. No exaggeration: my skin tore and my fingers bled on the damn thing.

http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h158/Necathys/IMG_6700.jpg

And here (http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h158/Necathys/IMG_6701.jpg) are different (http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h158/Necathys/IMG_6702.jpg) angles of it (http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h158/Necathys/IMG_6705.jpg).

As for the picture, it was a project that required the integration of the previous sculpture as a monument or a building in a landscape. Obviously, I had no choice but to draw my own monochrome Yes album with a reference to Beneath the Planet of the Apes, only they worship the Egg instead of a nuclear warhead.

http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h158/Necathys/MonochromeAttemptataYesAlbum.jpg

And here (http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h158/Necathys/IMG_6707.jpg) are less blurry pictures (http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h158/Necathys/IMG_6710.jpg) that couldn't frame the whole piece (http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h158/Necathys/IMG_6712.jpg) on account of my early stages of arthritis and a bad case of caffeine withdrawal.

She does look like Liv Tyler now that I see it again, although to be honest, what flicked my switch was that she was (like we all are supposed to be) under Raelyse.

Tough talk for a man that lacks nipples.

Shadar
07-02-09, 07:49 PM
It's not so bad, the lacking nipples bit. Brigitte (secondary character on this account) doesn't have nipples either. That doesn't stop her from having friends.

http://www.althanas.com/world/picture.php?albumid=6&pictureid=194

Had to share that. Sorry, Ataraxis, if my MS Paint endeaver lowers the overall quality of the thread. That egg is awesome, by the way. I would love to have something like that sitting on my desk.

Ataraxis

I could have sworn I gave Raelyse nipples. They probably got swept off while I added tone to his torso. Either way, nipples are only sexy on women, and Raelyse could have refilled glasses if his had stuck on. Nobody needs to see that.

Oh and don't worry, Jas, it's the norm since Godhand posted his Batmen picture. And thanks for the compliment! I mostly used it as paperweight before, but then there was plaster dust all over my documents. Figured I'd need to find some other use for it.

Also, is that Stephen Colbert or Bob Saget?

I'm fairly sure based on the "friend" comment and the pose it's Stephen Colbert from his "Black friend" picture

Atar, you really make me wish I had more talent than splashing Carmen Sandiego and the cotton candy house on a poorly-done unseaworthy battleship for a round of clues.

I want taleeeeeeent! :(

I just have to add that the egg is totally awesome and amazing. I have a little glass egg that I've had since I was about 4. I vaguely remember buying it at some quirky art show. All it is is an egg made of red glass with a little gold flourish painted onto it, but I love that thing. It's actually hefty and fun to toss in the air...
