Name: Wren Luen
Age: 19
Race: Wolf Tainted (A human with blood that’s been tainted by the magic of a divine wolf)
Hair Color: Jet black hair and fur on her ears and tail
Eye Color: A sweet green flecked gold
Build: Slight
Occupation: Elementalist
*Personality: Wren is a normally calm girl. She tends to not get excited for the most part but if things go foul she can get rather emotional. The wolf girl also tends to be rather shy but a loyal friend, though she is very nervous in crowds. As for fighting, She’s a bit of a pacifist and dislikes combat. Wren will not take a life unless it’s absolutely necessary for her survival.
Appearance: Wren’s skin looks like a girl that spent a lot of time in the library but she has some strange feral qualities. Her irises are gold like a wolf with slight green flecks in them and her canines are rather pronounced. The most obvious sign of her tainted blood is her gray and black wolf tail and furry pointed wolf ears.
She wears a simple robe of her wizard’s order. It’s made of a simple material and is of a light gray. The robes are made to fit her well so they don’t get in the way when she travels or adventures.
History: Wren was born the daughter of a hero. Her mother was the greatest hunter in her village and an accomplished adventurer in Corone. The mother’s name was Dyn and she had retired to the village of Willowwood but still hunted. While Dyn was pregnant but before she was showing the signs, she hunted a wolf that had terrorized Willowwood. But when the huntress tracked the wolf down she found that the wolf was a lesser god to the wolves and she could not defeat the lupine but instead bargained with it. The wolf demanded that the woman prove her bravery by staying in the forest with nothing and Dyn took the challenge knowing it would be simple. But the wolf god had tricked the woman and had used its magic to claim the unborn child. Dyn did not know about the curse until her child was born with a tail and her hair already full length.
Dyn had mourned the loss of her still living daughter until she figured that she had not lost yet. If she could raise her child and teach her to resist her wild blood then Wren would be hers and not the wolf’s. In order to keep the wild blood at bay, Dyn gave her child to Coro the wizard. Coro was a friend of Dyn’s late husband and was happy to help train Wren in sorcery to keep her soul human. With the training Wren would soon find herself thrust into many adventures and to see the world.
Skills:
Earth magic: Wren is a novice with earth magic. She can manipulate dirt, rock, stone, gravel and other mundane forms of earth. She can move, harden, soften and change the shape of the stone. The maximum she can manipulate is a sphere of up to 3 feet in diameter. An example is to make a 3-foot puddle of mud or make an area of sharp stones that would be hard to walk on. She can’t move this amount of earth fast enough to be an attack but she knows other attack spells.
Water magic: Wren is a novice in water magic. She can manipulate water, ice and steam. She can warm and cool water to the point of steam, snow or ice. She can also move water and summon water as well. Again she can manipulate and create about a sphere of three feet in Diameter. She cannot manipulate the water in blood unless it’s been spilt or the person is no longer living.
Enchantment: Wren knows basic enchantment. With the right ingredients and rituals she can make magical items or minions. Both are limited to level zero and are too complex to do during battle. The magic takes at least an hour to perform a ritual for even a minor item.
Specific spells:
Stone bolt: Wren creates a bolt of earth and launches it at an enemy about the velocity of a light crossbow. The bolt is about the strength of a bronze-head arrow.
Ice Missile: Wren launches a needle of ice about the force of a hand crossbow. It doesn’t deal much damage but when it pieces into the blood it chills the blood and causes the victim to move slower.
Grasping earth: Wren traces a circle in the ground. (Must be earthen and not wood or metal) When she says a command word the ground sprouts hands that trip and grasp any that stand on the ground. The hands are slightly stronger than the average human, about 1.3x.
Nonmagic skills:
Herb/plant lore: Wren knows a bit about plants and can use herbs for basic medicinal purposes. Also, she has a strange gift to tell basic herbal effects by smelling the plant.
Equipment:
oak Staff
linen robes with a hole for the tail
a wolf tooth tied to a silk string as a simple amulet
basic travel supplies
a rune drawing knife
